JuanDeDios: NNPC is still paying subsidies to anyone?
You have any proof or reason to say this?
If Tinubu as the president and petroleum minister is not paying subsidy till tomorrow, then why is he borrowing more than PDP presidents who gave us cheap petrol and less unemployment, less insecurity etc
If he is borrowing more than PDP presidents after hitting his higher revenue target in August then what else is he doing with all the money apart from stealing it? Stealing money to buy votes and bribe politicians for 2027 and a 3rd term agenda.
Wale Edun has moved around Nigeria and says that things are worse where they matter- on the economic front.
Do you know better than him
thisweekng: The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.
He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.
He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.
“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.
“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.” Private sector to drive the economy

What has changed since 2015 for better in Nigeria?
Gaddafi was a bad Maghrebian Arab dictator who turned sought to dominate extreme poverty black African paupers after his fellow Arabs ostracised him for his brutality.

anonimi: The migrant crisis in Libya and the Nigeria experience
JUNE 24, 2019
The drive for survival and for greener pastures has continued to force millions of West African young men and women to gamble with death in attempts to cross over to Europe and other parts of the world. This quest to escape poverty, hunger, unemployment and insecurity, among other reasons, caused a major segment of Nigeria’s population to seek alternatives for better livelihood prospects for themselves and their families.
Those seeking economic survival see irregular migration as the best alternative, given the difficulty and resources involved in migrating through regular and legitimate routes. In many instances, very few of the original number who set out on these dangerous journeys live to tell their stories. While many regularly drown in the Mediterranean Sea, many also die in the deserts, and others are sold as slaves in a modern slave market.
Most of the victims of this trade are from West Africa. Many of them leave home with expectations of getting to Europe and other destinations perceived to have better economic prospects for them, but they end up in the slave merchant nets in North Africa. The victims are put in camps and sold in open markets in Libya, while the international community watches in silence. The geographical location of Libya renders it a transit route for migrants journeying to Italy and many other parts of Europe.
SmartPolician: How can you advise people to relocate to a country whose population is nearly 300 million people?
Any country whose population is more than 100 million and they don't have extremely creative leaders and sold governance systems, they are automatically in distress.
Indonesia is Nigeria promax. In fact, they will give their people jobs first before considering immigrants because their population is overwhelming. Islam and Shari'a don't put food on the table 🙂
America has over 300 million people and no sharia.
Why should Muslims migrate there instead of Afghanistan where they can enjoy their sharia in peace and harmony with other mullahs
Trustedpronet: Same tactics they used on president Jonathan, all they want you and I to say is that the government has failed us.
Are you talking about Tinubu and the tactics he used to fraudulently sell his 2011 expired Buhari as APC strongman and change messiah four years later
Johnnyessence: The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Wednesday said President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration lacks the wherewithal to tackle the country’s security challenges.
The former Lagos State governor therefore asked Jonathan to resign as Nigerian president. The APC chieftain spoke in Ilorin, Kwara State, during the formal declaration of Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed’s bid for second term in office. The event was attended by former head of state and APC’s presidential aspirant, Muhammadu Buhari, former vice Abubakar Atiku and governors of Imo, Rivers, Kano, Sokoto and Edo States. Also in attendance were – the Speaker of House of Representative, Aminu Tambuwal, Senator Bukola Saraki, former governors of Kwara and Ekiti States, Alhaji Shaaba Lafiagi and Dr. Kayode Fayemi, APC’s spokesperson, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, member, Board of Trustees of the party, Alhaji Abubakar Baraje and Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Razak Atunwa. Tinubu said, “I saw the sea of refuges caused by the Boko Haram insurgents and the lies coming from Jonathan’s administration. They have exhibited failure, lack of capacity, vision and creativity. The lies of yesterday are what they repeat today and are what they will repeat tomorrow. They are lying to you. “They are lying about the security, toying about the security of this country. I don’t have time to explain the logic of their lies. “But if you control the armed forces and you are the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic, why should any part of this country be under occupation? And you give us excuses every day. In any civilized country Jonathan should have resigned. But if he will not resign, he should wait for our broom, we will sweep him away. I will come back. “This is just the endorsement of Governor Ahmed, that he will be re-elected by the grace of God with the support of you people here and those outside there. The unemployment situation will be conquered by this administration of APC. We have the vision for the security of the lives of our children. “The thieves that daily steal your money have not given you any job, they cannot create jobs and they are starving states of funds to pay workers salaries. The best thing to do is to sweep them away through broom revolution. APC is a party of the masses. “It now behooves on you to begin a house to house campaign that this is a party of the masses.”

anonimi: Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?
In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;
or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority? @ @ The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.
Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.

chisomkachy: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has withdrawn the alleged money laundering suit it filed at the Federal High Court against Lagos Speaker Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa.
Naija News understands that the anti-graft did not give any particular reason for its application for withdrawal.
Following the application to withdraw, Justice Nicholas Oweibo discharged the ‘lien/Post No Debit’ placed on Obasa’s three accounts in Standard Chartered Bank.
The accounts are (US Dollars) 0001852063; (Current) 0001852056 and (Saving) 5002309624.
The judge also set aside the ex-parte orders he made on September 15, 2020, which led to the freezing of the accounts.
Recall that the court on September 15, 2020, granted an interim order freezing Obasa’s accounts following the EFCC’s application in a suit marked FHC/LCS/1064/2020.
The agency had said it was investigating the Speaker for the alleged offences of conspiracy, diversion of funds, abuse of office and money laundering.
But Justice Oweibo, on August 16, 2023, heard the application to unfreeze the accounts in his chamber.
During the hearing, the EFCC was represented by Mr. Sulaiman I. Sulaiman, while Obasa was represented by Mr. Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN).
The EFCC lawyer told the court that the application to unfreeze the accounts was pursuant to Section 44(2)(K) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and Sections 26, 29 and 34 (1) of the EFCC (Establishment) Act, 2004, and under the court’s inherent jurisdiction.
Section 44 of the Constitution concerns constitutional rights to property.
Justice Oweibo held: “It is hereby ordered that an order is hereby granted to the respondent/applicant setting aside the ex-parte orders of this court made on the 15th day of September 2020 upon the ex-parte motion of the Applicant/ Respondent in relation the funds of the Respondent/Applicant domiciled in the accounts stated in the following schedule:

How many pictures of road projects are you using to pay the subsidy forced on Nigerians for every litre of petrol, due to the massive corruption in APC’s oil sector
anonimi: Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC
January 19, 2015
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.
On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.
But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.
It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.
Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?
Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? anonimi: Wike lobbied PDP committee to be Atiku’s running mate – Ex-gov’ship aspirant
Thu, 29 Sep 2022 14:33:04 WAT
Muazu Magaji, a former governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kano State, has alleged that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, lobbied members of the party’s committee constituted to advise the presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, on the choice of his running mate.
Magaji disclosed this while speaking on Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily, on Thursday.
The Kano politician also argued that there was no proof that Atiku promised Wike the vice president position as claimed.
The PDP committee had recommended the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa; Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel and Wike.
The committee, however, scored Wike above the other two contenders but Atiku decided to settle for Okowa. A decision that has since unsettled Wike’s camp.
Magaji, however, claimed that Wike lobbied to be scored ahead of others, adding that the Rivers State governor should not be trusted with important positions in the country.
2023: PDP and politics of healing Wike’s self-inflicted injury
Then, the race began in earnest for three years now, reaching a frenzy with the works of the two PDP committees on zoning. The first was the Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi committee on the zoning of the PDP party offices. The Ugwuanyi committee quickly told the world the committee’s assignment did not cover zoning the office of the president. Though this was true, the question is: why didn’t the Ugwuanyi committee zone the PDP chairmanship to the North without aligning it to the divide that would produce the PDP presidential flag-bearer? The second committee headed by Gov Samuel Ortom of Benue state was specifically on the zoning of the presidential ticket and, with the votes of the representatives of all the 17 Southern states without any exception, the Committee unanimously recommended throwing open the PDP presidential ticket, which the PDP NEC simply upheld.
One thing irrefutably stands out – Wike shot himself in the leg. Here was a man who had an overarching influence on both committees but could not insist that the ticket be zoned South. Many had wondered why? The reason is also relatively in plain sight: the Southeast factor. As the clamour for zoning of the presidential ticket of the PDP to South reached its crescendo, many had pointed out the fact that though the PDP Constitution had prescribed zoning of the office of the president to be between North and South since the South-west and South-south had taken their turns in producing the president and the vice in this current dispensation in the persons of Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, zoning this time around, should not just be to the South but the Southeast.
Atiku Abubakar went a step further by offering to step down from the race if it would be agreed that the touted zoning to the South would mean micro-zoning to the Southeast. Wike and the rest could not take the Atiku challenge maybe because Atiku would likely back Peter Obi, who was his vice-presidential running mate in 2019 and an ally. The prospects of Peter Obi picking the ticket if PDP zoned South was so real compelling Wike to go for an open contest, believing he could pick it up ahead of Atiku, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed, given his large war chest.

They have brought shame and agony through the application of their crude and godless politics which is at variance with the principles upon which our founding fathers built our great party.
We must find a way to sieve things so that only men of character and integrity can come through for positions of responsibility at all levels of our political engagement in the country. We must urgently steer the ship of PDP clear of the path of infamy which Wike and Fayose have brought our party, making Nigerians to mistake PDP as a training ground for thugs.
That is the urgent task we have. We cannot continue to advertise thug brand and expect Nigerians to take us seriously”.

anonimi: How we foiled Jonathan’s effort to make Mulika Adeola Speaker, Akande reveals
AS president in 2011, Goodluck Jonathan did all he could to ensure South West grabbed the country’s number four seat, including lobbying then opposition leaders from the zone, to no avail. The North West eventually grabbed the seat, supported by South West leaders in opposition to then ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Former Governor of Osun State and now statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, made this revelation in his autobiography, “My Participations” which is currently dominating political and national dis- course.
Aminu Tambuwal, now Sokoto State governor, won the seat, against the preferred pick of his party, Mrs Mulikat Adeola Akande, from the South-West. Defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, then a fledging opposition, which had Akande and his soulmate, former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu, as front- line leaders, openly asked its elected members of the House of Representatives, mostly from the South-West, to work against their region and back Tambuwal from North-West.
The opposition party’s support carried Tambuwal through the contest against Akande, then ruling party’s favourite for the speakership seat.
In his book, Chief Akande revealed that former president then as incumbent, personally reached out to Tinubu, who is now believed to be nursing presidential aspiration in 2023 and himself, but couldn’t convince them.
He wrote, “President Jonathan, immediately after the meeting (with political parties), called Bola Tinubu aside into a lobby to broach the matter of ACN support for a choice of who would become the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“That same day, President Jonathan talked to me on phone about the same matter. He disclosed that PDP had zoned the position to the South-West but that only one Muraina and another Mulika won elections on PDP ticket from the zone into the House of Representatives.

anonimi: "Wike and Fayose have brought shame to PDP" -Ali Modu Sheriff
According to him, he will restructure the PDP in such a way that Wike and Fayose cannot contain because they have brought “shame” to the party. Read what he said below
“I will engineer a restructuring of the PDP such that characters like Wike and Fayose cannot find a way through to attain any position of prominence in our party in the future.
We cannot continue to advertise thug brand and expect Nigerians to take us seriously”.
muykem: You sound half intelligent, where is our population before now? Do you know that this projection will attract foreign investors?
Tinubu decision is paying off, your wrong mindset notwithstanding.
Indeed, Tinubu’s decision to squeeze out more taxes and subsidies from Nigerians is paying off in higher debt burden than PDP presidents who gave us cheap petrol and better life.
You are not just fully intelligent, Oga you are also overwise in your Stockholm Syndrome suffering affliction. Oríṣiríṣi ọgbọ́n ni ó kúkú wá.
How much is petrol today How much subsidy are we forced to pay APC government for every litre of petrol
anonimi: Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC
No noise, just actions. Hard decisions with strategic steps
Any idea why Tinubu’s lootocracy TAX master plan for Lagos has failed to build a new state where ordinary water is available to everyone?
Are you sure that you know what strategic steps mean, in terms of employing well paid civil servants to make government services and public utilities available for all
seunmsg: This news ordinarily should elicit optimistic and positive reactions from all sensible Nigerian. Since the IMF published the stats, folks who primarily come from the SE have done everything humanly possible to attack and condemn the news. While Chinese, Indians and nationals of other countries mentioned in the top ten went under the tweet to project their countries positively, these set of Nigerians who support Peter Obi went under the tweet to attract IMF and world of statistics.
South African and a lot of Europeans went under same tweet to bash their government for not doing enough to make the top ten. In fact, some Europeans appealed to IMF to present the EU as a country so that the EU can make the top ten. That’s how much other countries value the achievement. But in Nigeria, these haters are attacking everybody because Nigeria achieved what a lot of other countries are struggling to achieve. They are so pained and angry.
Sadly for them, our economic growth is on a very high trajectory. It is unstoppable. The country shall continue to get better and they shall continue to get angry.
This propaganda should only elicit condemnation from all patriotic Nigerians who feel the impact of Tinubu and APC wrecking our economy into 4th place in Africa, with worsening unemployment, inflation, insecurity and debt burden.
Do you know what Tinubu is doing with his increasing revenue from higher tax burden on Nigerians, as well as his $84 billion subsidy savings, if he is borrowing more than PDP presidents did?
PDP presidents who used deregulation and privatisation policies to give us 16 years of widespread prosperity.
