Having a dominant winner year in year out will make the league boring and uninteresting to watch.

What happened to Leicester City some years ago? And Manchester United as well as Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal recently?

I said "set of dorminant clubs" not "one dorminant winner"

Look, all over the world, there are top clubs in every league...
England: Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U.
Spain: Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico.
Italy: Inter, Juventus, Milan
S/Africa: Kaizer Chiefs, M/Sundowns, O/Pirates

But here, you'll see Enyimba winning the league this season, but battling relegation next season. No consistency.
Different new clubs keep representing Nigeria in CAF club competitions, & they keep performing poorly.

The clubs can't build on their past experiences in CAF competitions.

Even sponsors won't want to invest in a club that wins today, & battles relegation tomorrow.
What magic formula do you have to make our league better, competitive and exciting like the oyinbo ones are still? Still, because our league was all these things up until the eighties.

By the way, do you have a HOME team? How much support do you give them, compared with the support that oyinbos give to their own home clubs huh

All outstanding matches including the lagos derby between Sporting Lagos and Ikorodu City which was postponed because of campaign rally will be played on Wednesday 30th September. The league has come a long way in fixtures scheduling. I'm very impressed with the steady growth of the league

Wednesday fixtures

Enyimba vs Shooting Stars
Katsina United vs Rivers United
Warri Wolves vs Enugu Rangers
Sporting Lagos vs Ikorodu city.
I hope my Ibadan lads can Shoot down the People’s Elephant in Aba on Wednesday for our first win on the road.

That would be great.

So, Obi is the movement. The only reason big politicians hate Obi is because he is for the people and not for the politicians.
He is not seen as a politicians' president. He is seen as someone that will scatter things for the politicians, it will not be business as usual for politicians.
He did it in Anambra and after series of impeachment, he came out stronger and hence, normalcy returned to Anambra state
How can this man be for the people and not for his fellow rogue politicians like Tinubu is?

We don pass this level, abeg make you try something new and fresh. grin

NLCreator:
Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.

There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.

Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.

The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.

While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.

“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.

“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.

“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”

Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.

Anambra distributes 177 vehicles to traditional rulers

Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, on Monday in Awka, distributed one SUV each to the traditional rulers of the 177 communities in the state.

Obi handed over one of the vehicles’ key to the state Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha.

He said that the gesture was aimed at helping them run and build better communities, adding that the vehicles would also help the traditional rulers to function effectively.

“If you have better communities, you will have a better Anambra, Anambra today is changing for better and I want this sustained,” the governor said.

“In doing that, the state government and the local government will do what it can to support the building of a better Anambra.”

Achebe said that he was overjoyed because the governor cared about the well-being and welfare of the traditional rulers.

“It is completely unprecedented in Anambra and probably elsewhere in Nigeria,” he said.

“It is a mighty gesture from the governor and for the government of the state to make a distinct impact on the well-being of the traditional rulers in the state.”

According to him, it was one of the several measures the present administration in the state had taken to improve the wellbeing of the traditional rulers.

“We pray that God will give us a successor that will continue from where Obi has left and lift Anambra to the next level.”

lexylaw40:
The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."

The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.

"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.

"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.

"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.

Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.

The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.

How Indorama sustains manufacturers, boosts Nigeria’s FX earnings

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited (IEPL) has emerged as a major value creator in the Nigerian economy. It is responsible for the survival, growth and sustenance of many manufacturing companies in Nigeria today. A large number of plastic and allied firms depend on the Eleme-based company for petrochemical resins (or polymer resins) which serve as their raw materials.

The petrochemical company is just one of the several subsidiaries of Indorama-Nigeria Group, which also comprises Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL), Indorama PET Nigeria Limited, and Indorama Port Operations.

Since Indorama Corporation of Indonesia became core investor in the old Eleme Petrochemicals Company Limited (EPCL) in 2006 through privatisation programme of the Federal Government, the group has become a game changer in the Nigerian economy.

The petrochemical company has solved the major challenge facing a number of manufacturers— poor access to raw materials. Rather than scramble for foreign exchange to import inputs, the company ensures that manufacturers have access to their critical raw materials, enabling them to save costs and improve margins.

The major resins used by plastic and allied companies are polyethylene and polypropylene. Indorama produces about 45 grades of these products for various industries. About 600 of such companies in Nigeria depend on IEPL for their survival. They are estimated to have over 90,000 workers.

He only knows how to pretend like Tinubu who had the ogboju to say he ended corruption since May 2023 while speaking in Brazil.

newsbook:
Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has re-echoed his allegation that his predecessor, Mr Peter Obi demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him for sponsoring his election in 2013.

Obiano and his predecessor, Obi have had a frosty relationship shortly after his swearing in.

Obi has however denied that he demanded for the sum of N7.5billion from Obiano, saying that his problem with him was his (Obiano’s) underperformance.

Obi said if he needed the said sum, he would have simply taken it from the N75billion he left for the Obiano administration at the end of his tenure.

But Governor Obiano while speaking on Wednesday evening at Ezechima Primary School, Onitsha where he inaugurated his reelection campaigns in Onitsha North Council Area, said the clarification became necessary because of the recent accusations against him by the former Governor.

He stated that his predecessor had demanded the sum of N7.5billion from him as funds spent in prosecuting the election on his behalf, but that he refused to pay the money because it was not true.

Obiano said he refused to pay because he strongly believed that public funds should be used for public good, and not to settle godfathers.

These, he said, was the reason they fell apart.

The governor said that another reason he refused to pay the money was because he was aware that enough money was raised for his campaign by his friends and associates, all of which were never accounted for by the former governor.

On the actual sum the former Governor claimed he left behind, Governor Obiano made it clear that he inherited liability of about N127 billion debt from him in contracts awarded and other responsibilities, which he has been religiously undertaking in the spirit of continuity.

He said Obi flagged off several roads even on the day he was leaving office and saddled him with the burden of paying for it, but he assured the people that he has his eyes on the ball and will not allow anything to distract him from fulfilling his promises.

The Chairman of the Governor’s Re-election Campaign Committee, Chief Victor Umeh said APGA as the political spirit of Ndigbo, has in the past three and half years, availed Anambra good governance at its best, reminding the people that the upcoming guber election was not about Willie Obiano but about ensuring that the state remained free from political godfatherism.

A former Central Bank Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo in his speech said that at this time, the State needs a tested hand like Governor Obiano who has the experience and expertise to effectively steer her affairs.

Report: How Peter Obi as Anambra governor failed to declare assets kept in tax havens

Peter Obi, former governor of Anambra state, kept secret assets in tax havens, a series of leaked documents has shown.

The leaked files which were retrieved from 14 offshore services firms around the world were revealed in a Pandora Papers project led by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), and which Premium Times is a part of.

In his response, the former governor told Premium Times: “I don’t declare what is owned with others. If my family owns something I won’t declare it. I didn’t declare anything I jointly owed with anyone.”

In 2010, more than four years after Obi became governor, he reportedly set up his first discreet company in the British Virgin Island, and named the company Gabriella Investments Limited, after his daughter.

To set up what has now become a convoluted business structure, Obi, Premium Times reported first approached Acces International, a secrecy enabler in Monaco, France, to help him incorporate an offshore entity in one of the world’s most notorious tax havens noted for providing conduits for wealthy and privileged corrupt political elites to hide stolen cash.

According to the newspaper, Obi also paid Acces International to provide nominee directors for the company — these directors are residents of tax havens paid to sit on boards of companies to hide the identities of real owners of offshore firms.

Acces International officials, who reportedly took briefs from Obi and or his representatives, headed to the British Virgin Island where they contracted a local registered agent – Aleman Cordero Galindo & Lee Trust (BVI) Limited (Alcogal) — to set up Gabriella Investments Limited for the former governor.

Let me help him with the full post to highlight his hypocrisy, just like that of Obi.

Hopefully he will share verifiable records for Obi in his eight years as Anambra governor, on these performance measures, devoid of roads.
For example, did Obi employ as many as 19,500 teachers to improve public school enrolment by what %? 19,500 teachers is the number employed by Makinde in five years.

givedemwotowoto:
Building roads is not an achievement worthy of celebration by a President. Every administration before President Tinubu built roads. Roads are a basic responsibility of government, not an extraordinary accomplishment. Achievements are measured by outcomes (value delivery) not projects.

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Think of it this way: When you submit your CV to an employer, they look for outcomes you achieved, not tasks that you did. For example: "I answered phone calls, updated Microsoft excel spreadsheets, attended meetings" are tasks and responsibilities, and say almost nothing about your achievements on the job.

Employers want to know what changed because of the work you did. For example: "I reduced customer response time by 50% by implementing a 2-hour policy for new and existing customer requests". "I reduced employee onboarding by 50% by implementing a new HR software".

The same principle applies to government. Building a road is a task. The question is, what outcome did that road achieve? Did it reduce accidents through better engineering, signage, technology, road markings, and traffic enforcement?

The fact that building roads is now treated as an exceptional achievement shows how low the bar of governance has been set.

President Tinubu should be judged by:

1. Corruption: What measurable success has he achieved with fighting corruption which is one of the biggest problems plaguing Nigeria's institutions? How much more transparent are government institutions compared to previous admins? Which agencies have been reformed since he took office, and how did those reforms improve the quality of service delivery to the people?

2. Jobs: How many net new jobs were added to the job market under his administration? Has unemployed reduced since he took office?

3. Security: Have kidnappings, armed robberies, terrorism, banditry, violent crimes and religious motivated killings dropped since he took office?

4. Economy: Has he brought inflation under control? Has the value of Naira improved and stabilized compared to when he took over from the previous government?

5. Standard of Living: Are Nigerians better off today than when he took office? or did majority of Nigerians become poorer under his government?

6. Power Supply: Has Tinubu's government improved electricity generation, transmission and distribution? By how much did he improve electricity in homes? For example, if during previous governments, about 100 million homes enjoyed average 3 hours per day, by how much has he improved that?

7. Education: Has access to quality standard education improved? What specific learning outcomes have improved compared to previous admins?

8. Healthcare: Has access to quality and affordable healthcare improved? By How much? Are more Nigerians able to receive timely medical care?

This has been the idea from the master strategist since 1999 which has been tagged, AUTOPILOTING, meaning there is a laid down masterplan that is being followed and anyone who aligns with this and is strategically chosen by him can run with this plan and operate it even while on vacation. You don't need to even be a degree holder or professor to rule successfully.
It has been long that this has been implemented and same plan hopefully he has on a larger scale for Nigeria as a whole not only Lagos State. But he comes in first ( sowing stage) to understand the scenario and to undertake the hard tasks before his SOLOMONS start coming in.
You start noticing the real development when his SOLOMONS come in.
Everything is patience and for God to bless us irrespective of whoever is in charge of Nigeria.
If this is how French people feel about their own public servants, then would the master strategist of a-looter propaganda politics be hiding behind Macron instead of being in Nigeria fixing the stagflation mess triggered by his clueless reforms huh

You shameless thief collected $500k bribe and handed over the Mambila Power Project to an Incompetent Company
Atiku is an angel compared to worst rogue Tinubu.

Obasanjo knows this fact, hence in 2019 he endorsed his multiple benefactor Atiku for the job of president.

Did Obasanjo ever endorse the Guinean Jagaban of Borgu?

5 mind-boggling revelations from Obasanjo’s ‘My Watch’

5. Tinubu was one of the most corrupt, of the 36 governors

Obasanjo never got along too well with former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu, and unsurprisingly, Tinubu got a mention in the former’s book.

Obasanjo revealed that then EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu tried to investigate almost all the state governors during his tenure but that of the 28 confirmed to be manifestly corrupt or tainted one way or the other, Tinubu’s case was one of the worst.

Activists like Tunde Bakare, who was Buhari's running mate in 2011, a year before he allowed Tinubu use him to play politics over fuel sector deregulation.

All Promises Cancelled, APC really scammed us walahi. Imagine how much we have been paying as FORCED subsidy in the last 11 years per litre, because of massive corruption in their oil sector. shocked

Petrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC

January 19, 2015

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70.

On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price.

But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”.

It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel.

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

The worst rogue in Aso Rock steals our money every second and that is why he needs to be kicked out next year, so we can get back to PDP prosperity with cheap petrol and less debt burden.

Who does not want that huh

What Tinubu and APC can’t destroy does not exist.
11 years of change and 3 years of reform with subsidy removal TWICE along with huge debt cum tax burden on people, why should we have roads worse than when PDP gave us cheap petrol and cheap dollars without piling up debt?
