PapaNnamdi: I feel the need to plunge Nigeria and Nigerians into more poverty is deliberate, there is no other sensible way to explain it
You are very correct about the intentions of the worst rogue politician who stole his way from Lagos to Abuja, sowing destruction along the way.

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.
If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

5 mind-boggling revelations from Obasanjo’s ‘My Watch’
5. Tinubu was one of the most corrupt, of the 36 governors
Obasanjo never got along too well with former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu, and unsurprisingly, Tinubu got a mention in the former’s book.
Obasanjo revealed that then EFCC boss, Nuhu Ribadu tried to investigate almost all the state governors during his tenure but that of the 28 confirmed to be manifestly corrupt or tainted one way or the other, Tinubu’s case was one of the worst.
Lagos — ABIA State governor, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and his Lagos State counterpart, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not escape justice but would be made to face the full wrath of the law following their recent indictment for alleged corruption by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Chairman of the commission Mallam Nuhu Ribadu who made the vow yesterday said the duo must account for their stewardship and may be thrown out of office.

Racoon: Festus Keyamo Defends Tinubu From Drug Trafficking, Says Tinubu Mistakenly Shared Flats With Drug Lords
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, has distanced the All Progressive Congress presidential candidata, Bola Tinubu, from being a drug baron who was involved in the traffic of narcotics in the United States.
Keyamo, who also doubles as APC Presidential Campaign spokesperson, noted that the former governor of Lagos State only shared a block of flat with drug barons about 30 years ago in the US.
His reaction is coming following documents of a Chicago District Court indicting and convicting Tinubu of drug dealings and money laundering in 1993.
The document which emerged online two days ago, described APC standard-bearer as a drug baron, adding that Tinubu entered a plea bargain, leading to the forfeiture of his assets to US authorities in 1993
It was also pointed out that Tinubu forfeited the sum of $460, 000 dollars in his bank account at First Heritage Bank to the US government.
Speaking on Wednesday on Channels TV, Mr Keyamo dismissed such claims, insisting that Tinubu was linked to drug peddlers who were his neighbours.
He said: “What happened was that Tinubu went to open an account. The address which he used in opening the account was the address used by these people. I think some blocks of flats. Maybe, he was happy to be in that block of flats too.
“So, they now link it that the other people they were investigating for narcotics are in the same address used by Asiwaju to open that account.’’

Ofunaofu: Report: Current Govt Added More Debt in Two Years Than Nigeria Accumulated in 55 Years
• Decries Nigeria’s debt service-to-revenue ratio
•Urges FG to declare fiscal emergency
A new policy brief has warned that Nigeria’s worsening debt profile and weak revenue generation have pushed the country into a dangerous fiscal position, with the current administration accumulating more debt in two years than Nigeria recorded during its first 55 years after independence.
The report, released by the Alliance for Economic Research and Ethics LTD/GTE, a Nigerian policy think tank, argued that the country’s debt crisis has evolved into a governance and revenue emergency, as debt servicing obligations now exceed the federal government’s retained earnings. > > According to the think tank, Nigeria’s public debt rose sharply from N87.38 trillion in June 2023 to N159.28 trillion by the end of 2025, with President Bola Tinubu’s administration accounting for about N65.9 trillion of the increase within its first two years in office.
The organisation in the brief titled: “Nigeria Is Borrowing to Breathe—and the Clock Is Ticking”, noted that Nigeria accumulated only about N12.06 trillion in debt from independence in 1960 up to 2015, meaning the current administration added more than five times that amount in just 24 months.
The report stated that while previous governments also contributed significantly to the country’s rising debt burden, the speed of accumulation under the current administration had intensified concerns over fiscal sustainability.
“President Bola Tinubu’s administration has added a further N65.9 trillion in just two years. To put that in perspective: it took Nigeria’s first 55 years of independence to accumulate N12 trillion in debt. The current administration has added more than five times that amount in 24 months,” it argued.
It recalled that Nigeria briefly became almost debt-free externally after the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo secured an $18 billion Paris Club debt relief package in 2005 and paid $12 billion to extinguish about $30 billion in external obligations.
Obi’s attendance at Rangers game is indeed very impressive and governors should emulate his gesture to attend the games of their home teams, instead of effectively asking for Nigeria to be recolonised by hyping oyinbo teams with time and money that should be used to develop our country.

NLCreator: Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 elections, has defended the purchase of sports utility vehicles (SUVs) for members of the national assembly.
There have been reports that the leadership of the 10th national assembly has bought SUVs for all lawmakers.
Each SUV is said to be valued at N160 million.
The LP had asked members of the party in the national assembly to kick against “wastage”.
While responding to questions during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, the former governor of Anambra said the SUVs are not personal cars of the lawmakers, noting that they are for official use.
“Let me start with the issue of Labour Party members in the house. I have actually discussed this issue with them,” Obi said.
“Surprisingly, I can tell you I heard that these vehicles are official cars. They have to use it. It is meant for office.
“So it is not as if it is their vehicle. They said it is official cars and you are meant to use it while you are in the senate.”
Obi also hinted at contesting for the country’s number one position in 2027, adding that Nigeria deserves dedicated and visionary leaders who will lead the country towards a brighter future.
aduboy: Anambra distributes 177 vehicles to traditional rulers
Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, on Monday in Awka, distributed one SUV each to the traditional rulers of the 177 communities in the state.
Obi handed over one of the vehicles’ key to the state Chairman of the Traditional Rulers’ Council, Igwe Alfred Achebe, Obi of Onitsha.
He said that the gesture was aimed at helping them run and build better communities, adding that the vehicles would also help the traditional rulers to function effectively.
“If you have better communities, you will have a better Anambra, Anambra today is changing for better and I want this sustained,” the governor said.
“In doing that, the state government and the local government will do what it can to support the building of a better Anambra.”
Achebe said that he was overjoyed because the governor cared about the well-being and welfare of the traditional rulers.
“It is completely unprecedented in Anambra and probably elsewhere in Nigeria,” he said.
“It is a mighty gesture from the governor and for the government of the state to make a distinct impact on the well-being of the traditional rulers in the state.”
According to him, it was one of the several measures the present administration in the state had taken to improve the wellbeing of the traditional rulers.
“We pray that God will give us a successor that will continue from where Obi has left and lift Anambra to the next level.”

Appeal Court Removed ‘Illegal’ NURTW President ‘MC Oluomo’, But He Won’t Quit Office
Musiliu Akinsanya, a former chairman of the Lagos State Parks and Management Committee, has continued to disregard the law in acting as national president of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), a trade union of transport workers in the country.
In November 2024, a Court of Appeal in Abuja affirmed an earlier National Industrial Court of Nigeria judgment pronouncing Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa as president of the union.
Baruwa had served for four years and he was to be serving his second term, having been reelected in August 2023, three months to the termination of his first tenure as enunciated by the union’s constitution.
Nchenches: You ask why Nigeria is yet to split. As if you don't know why. Nigeria's politicians from all religions are feeding fat from oil and gas money.
Those from the south who were yearning for political restructuring have since joined those who the political structure favours. Example: no politician alive today screamed for political restructuring of Nigeria more than Bola Tinubu did for nearly ten years until he saw an opportunity in 2013 to become president of Nigeria.
If politicians are allowed to emerge from among the public into government positions then are they not doing what the people want, which in this case is not to break up Nigeria?
Are we not the people using tribalistic zoning and rotation to share the national cake of corruption at local, state and federal governments in both the legislative and executive branches?
What is stopping you from mobilising others to make your own senator and representative to lobby others in the NASS to include secession clause in the ongoing 6th Amendment to the 1999 constitution?

Nchenches: Nigeria is a multi ethnic and multi religious country with groups not sharing common value systems. So divide and rule to exploit is easy in Nigeria.
Qatar and UAE are Arabs, Muslims. The citizens of both countries share same value systems. They can't be easily divided and exploited by foreign powers.
So why are we still together instead of breaking up like Malaysia and Singapore, or like Pakistan and Bangladesh that are both Muslim countries? In Africa, we have the examples of Sudan and South Sudan, as well as Ethiopia and Eritrea while Somaliland have declared independence from Somalia as they lobby for international recognition.
What is stopping us from breaking up instead of blaming oyinbo people whom we got independence from?
