But which Nigerian insulted Kemi in 2010 because she is Yoruba?
I hope it is not those we now know as the children of hate?
Maybe she voted Tinubu before 2010, or she voted for Buhari before that 2010? Or she criticised Jonathan's regime before 2010?
Or the mere fact that she is Yoruba made another Nigerian in the same UK to display the hatred their forefathers bequeathed to them as inheritance, despite that such Nigerian had spent over 40 decades in the UK?
Which Nigerian insulted Igbos just to please northerners in his reckless attempt to get into Aso Rock and continue APC shege that he fraudulently sold as Buhari change?
Highways: Where Are The Cows? Is Evans A Herdsman?'
When Funke Olakurin, daughter of Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti was murdered instead of Bola Tinubu to make sure that the perpetrators were brought to book, he ended up making fun of the death of the young lady by turning everything into tribalism by showing his hates for Igbos.
Tinubu has never spoken against the deadly activities of Fulani herdsmen across the country
The same stand Adeyinka Grandson gave on the death of Fasoranti's daughter is where Tinubu, the leader of the Yoruba Conservatives stands. Please see Tinubu's video below. pic.twitter.com/COhiSvabqW

Mrs Olakunrin died of gunshot wounds in July 2019 after her vehicle was attacked by armed men, suspected to be marauding Fulani bandits whose violent activities had reached a frightening level across the southwest states.
Those arrested suspects include Lawal Mazaje, 40, from Felele area of Kogi State; Adamu Adamu, 50, from Jada area of Adamawa State; Mohammed Usman, 26, from Illela area of Sokoto State and Auwal Abubakar, 25, from Shinkafi area of Zamfara State....
However, the leader of the team, identified only as Tambaya, and three others are yet to be found.
Tambaya has been declared wanted by the police and he is said to be capable of communicating in Hausa, Fulfude and Pidgin English.
LegendHero: This is why I think all Kemi is doing now is just strictly politics. To lead the Conservative Party, you must appear totally conservative and pro-British.
That often times make her constantly seek validation from them and attempt to throw black under the bus, which is very wrong.
But politicians got to do what politicians have to do.
Exactly what Fayemi and his APC folks did- throw 200 million Nigerians under their bus, to smuggle Abacha’s PTF comrade in for more corruption, more poverty, more unemployment, more inflation, more insecurity and more of everything that we complained about under Jonathan and PDP.
How could we allow them to screw us so easily despite our intelligence
Omooba77: …says Nigeria experienced economic development during Jonathan’s administration
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.
Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.
The programme was attended by Jonathan, former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others.
The PUNCH reports that on January 1, 2012, President Goodluck announced the removal of fuel subsidy and adjusted the pump price of petrol from N65 per litre to N141.
The decision sparked mass protests, tagged ‘Occupy Nigeria’ across major cities of the country.
The price was later re-adjusted to N97, after more than a week of protests.
Petrol price was later reduced to N87 in 2015.
Jonathan faced serious backlash for the fuel price adjustment, especially from leaders of the All Progressives Congress, who were then in different opposition parties, including the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, Congress for Progressives Congress, All Nigeria Peoples Party, and All Progressive Grand Alliance.
In Anambra, Lagos and a few places to help T-Pain achieve his ebilokan dream under the guise of Yorubalokan, as predicted by Soludo.
jameshankss: Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, has said he is sure the candidate of Labour Party (LP), Mr Peter Obi, would lose the 2023 presidential election. Soludo said he would not submit to the bullying of Obi’s supporters, who recently descended on him for addressing issues in the state.
The governor made the comments in a lengthy write-up personally authored, with the title, “History Beckons, and I Will Not Be Silent (Part 1).”
Soludo said Obi was inadvertently making the pathway to victory much easier for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, and at the same time, toying with the destiny of millions of Ndigbo.
But the chief spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign, Yunusa Tanko, accused Soludo of being sponsored by some unknown persons to weaken the base of the party in the South-east.
The former CBN governor had been under intense attack for close to a week for dismissing Obi’s investment in the state as amounting to nothing, during a television interview.
Soludo said in the write-up, “My attention has been drawn to some of the tirades on social media following my frank response during an interview on Channels TV regarding the ‘investments’ Mr. Peter Obi claimed to have made with Anambra State revenues.
“Sadly, several of the comments left the issue of the interview to probe or suggest motives, inferred from my response on ‘investment’ that I am opposed to Peter Obi’s ambition and, therefore, committed a ‘crime’ for which the punishment is internecine abuse and harassment, even to my family.
“Everyone knows that I don’t follow the winds or one to succumb to bullies, or shy away from a good fight especially, when weighty matters of principles and future of the people are involved.”
Soludo said he had urged Obi to return to his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), to actualise his presidential bid. He added that he had always told the LP candidate to his face that he was not capable of winning the 2023 presidential election, especially, under LP, which had neither a councillor nor a local government chairman.
Soludo said Obi was not just his friend, but also his brother, but despite that, they have their political differences.
He stated, “For full disclosure, let me state that Peter Obi and I are not just friends, we call ourselves ‘brothers’. But we have political differences: he left APGA for PDP after his tenure as governor, while I have remained in APGA since 2013.
“During the last two governorship elections in Anambra in 2017 and 2021, he led the PDP campaigns but APGA won landslide in both elections. By the way, in 2016, he visited and proposed that I defect to PDP and contest the 2017 election against the incumbent Willie Obiano, but I declined.
“After my victory in November 2021, he called to congratulate me, as I did to him in 2010. That is the Anambra way: we fight fiercely during campaigns but share drinks at the next social events. After all, it was the Great Zik of Africa, who taught us that in politics, there are no permanent friends or permanent enemies but only permanent interests.”
Arguing that Obi’s presidential bid would only work in favour of Tinubu, Soludo said, “Indeed, if I were Asiwaju Tinubu, I would even give Peter Obi money as someone heading one of the departments of his campaign, because Obi is making Tinubu’s pathway to victory much easier by indirectly pulling down PDP.”
Obi, according to Soludo, would only deplete the votes of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and pave the path for an APC victory.
He stated, “The current fleeting frenzy, if not checked, will cost Ndigbo dearly for years. The South-east has the lowest number of votes of any region, but it is also the only region where the presidential race might be a four-way race (it is a two-way race in the other five regions) thereby, ensuring that our votes won’t count in the making of the next president of Nigeria.
Gerrard59: I get it..OP is a renowned tribalist who is angry at a supposed racist? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have always known that there's a straight line between Nigerians who support Kamala and those who campaigned and voted for Buhari in 2015 and Tinubu in 2023. Today, they take themselves to be moralists.
Once again, I'm extremely glad Trump won so his statements bite and make you filthy lots angrier than ever!
Black people would do worse should they've the global wealth and power of white people. More black people are comfortable and enjoy the high living standards in white countries than in Africa - home to black people.
So if you are angry at Trump's statement, go and kpeme!
Rather than going to kpeme, how about he and his sorts going to WORK on making our country and continent as good, if not better than America and the oyinbo countries?
Is that not how the Chinese, South Koreans etc have earned their own respect from being dirt poor people some six decades ago
Beremx: She wasn't cheating jare. Both idiotic husband and wife are in the game of sex spree. Listen to VDM very well before you blane the woman. A country that doesn't see cheating as anything. Sex is cheap and free. Equatorial Guinea is the current version of Sodom and Gomorrah.
How much of EG life do you know to say this in such an authoritative manner
Kenosky1: Even if he shows proof of payment, the opposition will find another reason to discredit this hard working governor. There should be a boundary between politics and development. We all need to work together and ensure rapid development of this country, quite sad that Nigeria is not among 15 richest countries in Africa. Pull Him Down syndrome should be discouraged in this country.
Why don’t you wait for him to show proof as requested before you start your own analysis
What is nice about this Stockholm Syndrome replacement for the free education of all Lagos children by those who claim to be progressive like Jakande and Awolowo?
If you know what is nice, in this regard, then you should be asking yourself why the Speaker has failed to ensure the state budget includes provisions for hiring teachers and other staff to have every single child in free basic education schools?
Do you now see that you have no idea what is nice in this situation
SonOfDSoil01: your tears are delicious 🤣🤣 so I guess the decline started just last year? Keep living in denial, Nigeria economy has been on the nosedive for years now but only being managed by successive governments.
Tinubu came in and took the bold step to reform our economy which will definitely come with some unease, but you lot who never voted for him or wish him well, just want him to change the already worse economy in one year.
When crude was selling at the highest during Jonathan regime, how well was he able to manage the income? But rather they mismanaged it, even the then finance minister iweala warn of the future dangers, but no one listen. Now you want Tinubu to perform magic.
If you know how economy is run, then you should know that economics reforms takes time before you start seeing result….but you bitter souls have always pray he fails but las las you all will be disgraced.
Balablu propaganda of Stockholm Syndrome justifiers.
Do you know better than T-Pain’s economy minister
Typical socialist money sharing wreckage instead of making people work to be productive and create value.
The last time Nigeria’s economy was stable was about a decade ago – Wale Edun
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Chief Olawale Edun has said the last time Nigeria’s economy looked stable was about a decade ago.
He made this statement during his maiden press conference as Minister of Finance where he outlined President Bola Tinubu’s vision, agenda and strategy for the economy.
He said, “I think as we all know, we are not where we should be. The economy is barely growing above the rate of population growth.
“But it was not always so, and I think in trying to look at the way forward, if we now have a situation of slow growth, double-digit inflation, weak/depreciating exchange rate, as well as security concerns that are resulting in an economy that is not growing and not taking Nigerians out of poverty.
“If we think back to the last time when the economy was stable- when it was growing, when inflation was low, and the interest rate was affordable, that period was about a decade ago. Growth was about 6% in 2013 and 2014.”
drstranged: One drawback of the GDP is that it's dependent on a country's population. So the higher a country's population the likely lower the GDP per capita and vice versa. That's what plays out in Seychelles and other smaller countries over there in the list which have populations in only hundreds of thousands compared to Nigeria which has over 200million population
Lame excuse of mentally lazy and unproductive extreme poverty paupers who blame others for their own self imposed misery.
Why does this your lame excuse not apply to China and America?
adanny01: Are you aware that in 2022 Nigeria's GDP was $472b but in 2024 it is $199b.
T-pain happened.
T-Pain happened because Obasanjo helped him to make Buhari APC change messiah when he was KNOWN to be a shege master of economic cluelessness by the ingrate.
If Obasanjo is not an ingrate, then why would he tear the card of the party that made him president from Abacha’s prison?
What does Obasanjo’s disregard for economic competence in forcing sickly Yar’Adua on us through Iwuruwuru INEC, and helping Tinubu to make his 2011 CPC expired leadership president four years later, say about his own governance capacity
citizenisb: Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.
“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.
The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.
While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.
“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”
May God help us to work together to make our state lawmakers and governors prioritise the people’s money for the employment of professional teachers who are well paid, to ensure every single child is educated free in primary, vocational and secondary schools. This is the essence of the PDP established UBEC since 1999.
Don’t you think that this is a better prayer for the society and the individual
Kelklein: They have started sealing the mouths of those that would have made noise online in 2027.. Daniel Bwala, Reno, Lere Olayinka, more to follow.

His tweet below fits perfectly with what you wrote here. Ensuring that ebilokan continues APC shege that was fraudulently sold as change nine years ago.
A media aide to former governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State, Lere Olayinka, has suggested that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar should make sacrifices and support Peter Obi for the presidency in 2027.
Olayinka was responding to an X user, Mfaarees, that Obi should accept the Vice Presidential slot to Atiku.
He noted that Obi has what it takes to save Nigeria, adding that he and Atiku can defeat the forces of tyranny in Nigeria.
Mfaarees had said: “Peter Obi has what it takes to save this country. If he really cares about Nigerians, he should accept the VP slot with Atiku as President, they’re the only people who can defeat this great force of tyranny.”
Reacting, Lere posted: “Why can’t @atiku also make sacrifice and support @PeterObi for President?”
This is coming amid the proposed merger talks among top opposition leaders in Nigeria.
But Katchi Ononuju, a chieftain of the PDP, had declared that Obi won’t be a Vice Presidential candidate to Atiku.

What Abuja money cannot do does not exist ooo
So true about our money in Abuja procuring extreme poverty and ebilokan starvation for Yorubalokan Lagosians and other Nigerians. You are so right. Spot on.
25 years of Tinubu master plan in Lagos, and nine years of APC using his economic plan is manifesting itself as palliative beggars below.

Ringstonerman: I remember when Stella died. My neighbour came to our house to inform my mother that morning. It was a sad day and people actually mourned for her.
People idolised her before her death and after she died, everywhere was cold and sad.
Bt now, people are even praying for the president to kpeme..Kreme... people hate d current first lady and their family and even fasting to see dem Kpeme.
Nationalism ended with PDP rule in 2015...
How time flies !
This is understandable since APC's clueless economic policies has kpai many jobless, extreme poverty paupers for the last nine years.
Giving the masses bread and rice palliative while increasing taxes to fund their own enjoyment is the bane of the fake socialists and pseudo progressives of our country.

chisomkachy: Nigerian President Bola Tinubu’s first supplementary budget includes a fleet of SUVs for himself and his wife, a presidential yacht and the renovation of his villa amid a cost-of-living crisis for some of the poorest people in the world.
The proposal — which seeks additional funding beyond the annual budget approved by Tinubu’s predecessor — comes as the government asks Nigerians to persevere through pain caused in part by a raft of economic reforms ushered in by the new president. Africa’s most populous country faces rampant unemployment, soaring food prices and a plummeting currency.
Federal lawmakers approved the president’s request for extra spending on Thursday, but eliminated the provision of 5 billion naira ($6.01 million) to buy a presidential yacht. Instead, they doubled the allocation to a student loan fund to 10 billion naira, according Abubakar Bichi, chairman of an appropriations committee in the House of Representatives.
The lawmakers approved 1.5 billion-naira proposed to purchase SUVs for the office of First Lady Oluremi Tinubu — an amount larger than that allocated to many individual federal colleges. The supplementary budget also proposes almost 6 billion naira to purchase SUVs for the presidency — more than the amount initially allocated to fund a student loan program for poor families.
Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?
In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;
or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority? @ @ The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity. Not to mention creativity (including epistemic creativity), productive justice (such as merit and freedom), harmony and reconciliation at local and international levels, and a proper domestication of capitalism and other related values and institutions.
Africa must stop wasting her time on dreams of socialism because it is a system of wealth distribution primarily. Whereas, capitalism is a system of wealth creation primarily, and wealth has to be produced before it can be distributed.
ObiPandora: Listening to pathetic souls like you could not be more ironic tinubu turn lagosian into beggars yet as at the morning / stroke overnight I can count how many refugees from igboland Ekene dilichukwu, GIG GIGM Ifesinachi Okeson cross country Okoli etc dropped in same lagos to come scavenge in Yorubaland to save your pathetic souls.

You need to urgently get someone to scavenge the idọti pẹlu ẹfọri inside your pathetic soul's head.
Thank me later.
edet19892015: Unless you understand your role in society, you can never make any meaningful contribution.
According to the Greeks, they are three types of people on Earth, 1. The idiots, 2. The tribesmen, and 3. The citizens.
Studies show only 10% of Africans are citizens. The remaining 90% are either tribesmen or idiots.
1. When the Greeks used the word "Idiot", they did not use it as a curse word. Idiots are people who just don’t care. If they sit for exams, they will cheat. If they are in government they will steal.
An idiot does not care at all, if he eats bananas he throws the peels anywhere instead of putting them in a trash bin.
IDIOTS won't attend monthly neighborhood meetings. They won't pay security dues. They won't contribute to community development. Even when they see or know about something that will harm others in the community they won't report it. When they see/know/have something that will benefit their community they won't share.
In fact, Idiots don't care to register for or vote in an election, yet they complain the most. If they register to vote, IDIOTS will sell their votes for peanuts.
According to the Greeks, some societies have more idiots than tribesmen and citizens.
2. The next set of people are "Tribesmen", these are people that look at everything from the point of view of their tribe.
These are people that believe in you only if you are part of their tribe. It can be terrible to have a tribesman as a leader, he will alienate the rest.
When the Greeks talk about tribes, it’s not just about ethnicity, they also consider religion, gang membership, group membership, party membership and even cult membership as a tribe.
A great percentage of Africans are tribesmen, because they view everything from the point of view of their tribes. They trust only their tribesmen
3. The last group are "Citizens". These are people who like to do things the right way. They will respect traffic light rules even if no one is watching them.
They drive within speed limits. They respect the laws, and won’t cheat in exams. In government, they won’t steal. They are compassionate and give to others to promote their well-being.
Citizens often promote projects that benefit everyone. The Greeks called this group "The Citizens".
Some countries have more citizens than tribesmen and idiots, others have so many idiots.
A tribesman can become a citizen through orientation. And an idiot can become a citizen by training and constant enforcement of the law.
But things fall apart if you elect an idiot or tribesman to lead you if he has not been reformed.
Where do you belong? Are you an idiot, a tribesman or a citizen? Reflect on your life. Reflect about your immediate community, city, state and nation.
madridguy: I don't know if to lay curse on OBJ or abuse him this morning over this news. The man really drag Lagos backward. This was part of Tinubu dream back then as Lagos State government, he said a state like Lagos needs to be generating its own energy, but greedy and wicked OBJ used sitting president power to frustrate the dream back then.
I believe if Tinubu has the support and approval of the FG back then, who knows maybe majority of companies that left Nigeria to Ghana back then wouldn't have left.
Meanwhile, its been a while comrade Seunmsg comment or post on this platform, I hope all is well with you bros.
Why would Obasanjo support a scam that was used to siphon the huge IGR growth coughed up by smart Lagosians
Did his capitalist PDP party not support Geometric in Aba for the same project?
Judge hands out prison time in Enron barge scam
Ex-Enron, Merrill execs sentenced. A repentant Boyle gets nearly four years for his involvement in barge scandal
May 13, 2005
Former Enron executive Dan Boyle was sentenced to nearly four years in prison Thursday, while Robert Furst and William Fuhs, both former Merrill Lynch bankers, received more than three years — all for their roles in the Enron Nigerian barge scam.
Boyle, sentenced to three years and 10 months in prison and fined $320,000, was the only one who appeared repentant about pushing through a sham sale of energy-generating barges to the bank so Enron could pump its earnings and bolster its stock price.
"I'm the only one responsible for my actions and omissions and for the pain I caused each and every person I affected," the Clear Lake resident told the judge. "I'm truly sorry."
E don enter voice mail like the Adiyan water works. How can T-Pain's master plan not make sure that water is available for all Lagosians, 25 years after the labours of NADECO heroes returned us to democracy?
How is that even possible for someone who studied, worked and lived in Chicago
aresa: Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has said the state will meet the demand of potable water supply to the residents by 2020. The governor gave the assurance on Tuesday after inspecting the ongoing construction in the Adiyan waterworks. He said the project was designed to put an end to scarcity of potable water supply to the residents. > > Fashola said, “The construction work in the Adiyan waterworks phase II is in top gear. The contractor has shown that his men could work at night and hopefully, this will speed up the construction of the waterworks. “This is the third major waterworks in the state. The first was the Iju waterworks which was built in 1910. There was no major intervention in the state until 1991 when Adiyan waterworks phase I was constructed. That was a long time and the population continued to grow in the state. “This is direct government funding. The long term plan is that we will need more of this to be able to hit the water demands of the residents of the state. The plan is that by 2020, we should be able to meet the plan of the citizens of the state.” The governor explained that provision of water alone was never the answer to water scarcity, but the conservation of water.
He said, “Like all utilities, one can never oversupply. So, to have adequate supply, it requires minimisation of waste and water conservation.
Several years later, no show as usual from the All Promises Cancelled, APC lootocrats.
Potable water still luxury 23 years after return of democracy
WHILE the Federal Government continues to proliferate the country with dams, it is such an irony that a state like Lagos, with its massive, constant boast of being a megacity, cannot provide its residents, thereby forcing the bulk of them to take solace in the arms of water boreholes.
At regular intervals, the two major waterworks in the state, the Adiyan, and Iju get grounded leading to the non-availability of water. In April and May last year, for instance, they both produce less than 10% of their installed capacity.
As of today, Eti-Osa, Apapa, Victoria Island, Badagry, Ibeju Lekki, Surulere, Ikorodu, Agege, Ojo, Mushin Kosofe, and most locations in the state are without access to clean water. Consequently, millions of residents now rely on boreholes, rivers, rainwater, as well as comprised wells for their water needs.
On its website, the LWC claims that it has a total installed water production capacity of 210 million gallons per day (MGD), which is far lower than the current estimated daily water demand of 540 million gallons per day.
Also, its plan to produce 745 million gallons per day by the year 2020 through the Lagos Water Supply Master Plan fell flat with the actual number of citizens having access to potable water dropping, rather than increasing 11 years after the launch of the master plan.
A senior staff of LWC, who preferred anonymity said that at present, its agency only supplies water to Lekki, parts of Ikoyi, Victoria Island (VI), Ojodu, Iju, and some parts of Ikotun.
bloggernaija: Why is this guy not the president of nigeria.he just seems to have every sector covered even doing the job of the federal government for GEJ.
While PDP are always parambulating around Abuja doing silly politics, most day, fashola is too busy inspecting project ,identifying problem and doing the business of governance. All these mumus will later bring a local government level akpabio(equatorial guinea class) to an argument against a true administrator who has to work hard for every penny he uses to develop the state.
Believe any mumu can award fat contracts to Julius Berger when oil money is flowing yanfu yanfu.that takes no brains especially when you are painting on a blank board.you can paint any picture you want.
One of the clueless posts that helped usher in APC shege poverty change to replace APC job-full prosperity. Is the federal government responsible for potable water supply? How shameful it is to read this kind of comment with the benefit of hindsight
How do you ensure that this about to does not change to NEVER will? How many of the promises made by APC in Lagos and Borno for 25 years and in Abuja for nine years have they fulfilled?
Enron barge scam on my mind.

What smart person builds walls of a house without first building the foundation?
How many teachers, lab attendants, librarians, administrators, sports coaches etc has Bago recruited to provide free education to all Niger state children in primary, vocational and secondary schools with adequate classrooms, libraries, labs, playgrounds etc?
If he has not done enough on basic education, does this gesture make him smart or stupid
UltraSolid: The guy is just a hateful joker who has no shame. Same antics on all SW-related thread whereas many Yorubas, as secure and progressive people, wished Aba well with her power project.
Truth, which is fairly predictable, is that every fairly productive State will be able to increase supply of power somewhat thankss to Buhari signing into law the full deregulation of the power sector meaning every State can now generate, transmit and distribute her own electricity it can output directly to her own grid rather than the national grid as obtained before.
It is like the GSM revolution. States can start small to then grow and upscale their own power supply in a modular arrangement. Haters can sit around hating. This was anticipated and we all know SW won't lag behind because of the regions realisation of the industrialisation and economic revolution constant power supply can achieve.
Can you please say how any industrialisation and economic revolution will happen with school na scam progreThieves in charge of south west for most of the past 25 years plus? How many industrialised and developed countries do you know without free education for all children, like we had in the Western region and derived LOBOO states seven and four decades ago?
Babasessy: The Awolowo rebirth in the Southwest has inspired gongs, songs and rhetoric of sorts. But they have missed one point.
It occurred to me in Abeokuta last week amidst the big crowds and euphoria of the swearing-in of Senator Ibikunle Amosun as governor. In all the states from Lagos to Edo, where Awo has witnessed ideological resurgence, hardly a single family member has played a role.
So we have an Awo family without an Awo. That is an irony. But history overwhelms us with this sort of twist. Obafemi Awolowo toiled for his reputation. His roots were lowly, he toiled to school both home and abroad, launched into careers in law, business, journalism and eventually politics. He carved a niche for himself, and became the first methodical and charismatic leftist in our history. Other leftists abounded but they did not inspire comparable drama and following.
He faced tribulations, went to jail, failed in elections, won a few, but he imprinted his ideas and legacy in the country, and no single mortal has beaten him in the history of this country. His greatest achievement was in the area of ideas, and that was how he fashioned a family. Most families are born of biology but his issued from ideology. That family suffered with him.
In a spoof of Jesus Christ, these were the men who followed him in his teachings, and endured with him in his temptations. So he formed a kingdom for them in the Southwest, in the old Western Region, presiding over his projects, his legacies and people.
In all of these, the family he had was not his flesh and blood. In another spoof of Christ, who were his family anyway? Those who were with him must be counted as his family. So, I combed in the ambience of Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), and I found none. I went to Ogun, I frisked the crowd under Amosun’s bower, hardly any. Around Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Osun, I could not lay a finger. With Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti, where are the forbears of Awo? Yet, I can hear the chants of Awo. Hardly in any of the inaugural speeches or any of their other public intervention would you miss the philtre and filter of Awo from these gentlemen. To parody Novelist Joseph Conrad, they are the sparks from Awo’s sacred fire, the messengers of the might within the man.
Already all of them are pursuing the legacy ideas of Awo: free education, free health services, infrastructural development, urban renewal and economic engineering.
Lagos has posted itself as the John the Baptist. The others are putting up valiant efforts, and the world of course is watching to see how well they will perform. It will call for great work, resourcefulness and cooperation. They are the real Awoists, and Awo was a man of rigour and vigour.
The Awo son that many expected to take after the father was Olusegun, who unfortunately died in a car crash. We shall never know if he could have pulled it off. But the others have not shown much of the paterfamilias’ brio and depth. In the past decade, under this republic, they have blended with the wrong crowd. Even H.I.D, hobnobbed with Alao-Akala, who brought illiteracy to governance; with Oyinlola who turned the grace of office into a hell-hole of despots; with Daniel who could not arrest his quick fall into megalomania.
I wrote once that this woman whom Awo once described as the jewel of inestimable value has lost value to his cause. If he came back to life, he would have committed the extraordinary act of divorce after death. Even his newspaper, The Tribune, has so stumbled and fallen that it swims in Awo’s vomit.
What will you say if/when the investors actually generate and distribute the electricity? Something more than welcome? Knowing how All Promises Cancelled, APC is a bunch of greedy politicians of integriThief, should you not exercise caution about announcements like this, until it has manifested fully?
Nine years after talkative Fashola said this, do you have stable electricity 24/7? If you have that already, then why is this Ekiti announcement a welcome development
FashoFashola to Nigerians: 'If You Want to Have Stable Electricity Supply, Vote PDP Out in 2015'
Jul 11, 2014.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, while marking his 2,600 days in office at an elaborate ceremony held at the Blue Roof of the Lagos Television premises, has said voting out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in next year’s general election is the only way the country can have stable electricity.
According to The Nation, Fashola said electricity crisis in the country is caused by lack of ideas and insincerity of purpose on the part of Federal Government.
"Yes I agree with you that it is possible to generate electricity and to make sure that everybody in this country has electricity, we have to do the right thing. But you know what, the only way that you and I will have electricity in this country will be to vote out the PDP.

How can a man be so utterly useless to himself and 200 million Nigerians? How is that possible? Was he ignorant of the privatisation when he promised to make electricity available above? The supposedly smart dude was obviously just playing politics with our welfare, just as Fayemi confessed about the 2012 Ojota fuel deregulation protest.
nnamdibig: If you don’t have electricity, it is not the Federal Government’s problem, the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has declared.
Fashola, who disclosed this while speaking at the Nextier Power Dialogue on Wednesday night in Abuja, told his listeners that there were problems in the power sector, but reminded them that it was not the Federal Government’s problem if citizens in the country do not have electricity, especially since the sector was privatised.
He said, “There are problems without a doubt and we must deal with them. But let me remind you, all of the assets that the Ministry of Power used to control for power have been sold by the last administration before I came. And so if you don’t have power, it is not the government’s problem. Let us be honest.
“The people who are operating the power sector, generation and distribution are now privately owned companies. I am here because I am concerned. If your telephone is not working, it is not the minister of communication that you go to. Let us be very clear.”
The minister added, “So for those of you who want to weaponise electricity, face the businessmen who have taken it up. Let us be honest. If your bank over-charges you interest, is it the minister of finance you go to? So let’s be clear. This is now a private business by Act of parliament 2005.
“My role is regulatory, oversight and policy, but I have a problem which is the fact that I can’t see a problem and turn my back, so I’m getting involved. So the people you should be talking to about transformers is not me, the ministry doesn’t supply transformers anymore.”
Fashola further defended his position after another participant at the dialogue insisted that the minister supervises the ministry and that the Gencos and Discos were players under the FMPWH.
ObiPandora: It is now understandable why many of your obidient ipob miscreant live a wretched sad pathetic life so the news of this poor man winning his seat is the thing troubling you kin among all of Nigeria's problem at this hour. You are definitely destined to perish of hate cos I do not see how you can escape it.
Can it be that you are clueless about what a wretched, sad and pathetic life of a poor man is, or you are just feigning ignorance?
Ignorance of how Asiwaju’s reckless looting of the past 25 years has made Lagosians into beggars, with the “lucky” elites escaping to America and Europe.
Glimpsetv: A large crowd of Lagosians was filmed in a long queue struggling to collect a loaf of bread. To maintain order, several military personnel were on the ground to control the crowd. This has triggered a lot of reactions online.
Watch the video, share your thoughts in the comments.
LegendHero: Oya tell us one area where we lose. Then I will mention 5 more areas where we are the best.
After more than 25 years of choking the masses with taxes, levies, rates etc to increase revenue 50 times, Tinubu’s master plan for Lagos has failed to deliver a modern metropolis that has basic amenities like water. Ordinary pipe borne water in this 21st century.
Can there be a greater loss for Lagosians and Yorubas than this
The lack of state-owned pipe-borne water in the homes of Lagos residents has continued to be a source of concern, a non-profit group, Corporate Accountability and Public Advocacy Africa (CAPPA) has said.
At a press event to mark this year’s World Water Day, the group said its monitoring team’s visit to state-owned waterworks showed that most of them are not operational.
The group said the waterworks it visited include the ones at Maryland, Mushin, Ikorodu, Obalende, Agbowa, Onikan, Ikoyi, and Amuwo Odofin.
Only the one in Ikoyi is producing water, according to CAPPA.
Can you please provide details of what you are doing personally to improve our collective productivity and the environment in which we work and live, so that the GDP can increase
drlateef: Keep quiet joh!!! Going after $25 billion is not escapism. It is visionary.
You are the one who needs to STFU, and engage your brain in a more holistic manner.
Neo-black Problem: Must Blacks Be Ruled by Whites in Order to Prosper?
In short, the neo-black dilemma may be framed as follows: is it better to live under white rule without political dignity but with basic life-sustaining standards for many;
or to live under black rule with illusory political dignity and without basic life- sustaining standards for the majority? \ \ The path forward for Africa lies in cultivating higher and adequate levels of personal and communal agential integrity as well as full personal responsibility and productivity.
How can this translate into making Yoruba life better in Nigeria? The vast majority of Yorubas live in our country, not so? Any formula for this
That was how Abikẹ Dabiri tried famzing Kẹmi Badenoch. A British politician who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about her Nigerian/Yoruba heritage except when she can use it to further her political ambitions.
I want to sell a script to a Hollywood studio. The story is about a guy who owns a farm that constantly runs at a loss but never quite shuts down.
The farm is massive and underutilised, and the protagonist has all the opportunities in the world to improve its output and get a bumper harvest.
He has access to credit, machinery, free irrigation and gifts from neighbouring farmers, but all he ever does with these things is drink and smoke them away while his family suffers.
Nigeria has refused to grow up and achieve something, but it somehow feels as if it is living vicariously through the achievements of its estranged children around the world
Apart from drinking, smoking and generally being utterly useless, his other pastime is to pump out children at an industrial rate. Needless to say, he takes no care of his children whatsoever, and many of them fail to survive childhood.
Those who do survive have to leave the farm and hire themselves out as hired labour to the neighbouring farmers, having picked up some survival skills from home.
With time, a number of them rise through the ranks and become senior managers, directors and even shareholders in these other farms while their father continues mismanaging his farm.
When good news about some of these successful children gets home, their father is filled with pride and joy, but when they end up on the wrong side of life, he acts as if he never knew them.
The successful ones make efforts to revamp their childhood home by sending back money and volunteering their skills and time, but all this guy ever wants to do is be a 62-year-old underachieving idiot carried through life by charity and luck.
Famzing” diaspora success is dishonest I’m sure before the end of the second paragraph, you figured out whose story I was telling. The 62-year story of post-independence Nigeria — which the Hollywood studio would surely reject for being too sad with no redemption — is that of our fictional antihero.
Nigeria has refused to grow up and achieve something, but it somehow feels as if it is living vicariously through the achievements of its estranged children around the world.
Remember how everyone from corporate brands to Abike Dabiri made a big song and dance about supporting Anthony Joshua the “Nigerian,” whose only chance to become someone in life came when his parents emigrated from Nigeria?
Remember how things turned when he somehow lost against that chubby Mexican dude whose name I can’t remember? Remember when the Super Falcons won the female AFCON title and received a congratulatory tweet from the president, only for them to have to stage a protest before being paid their camp allowances?
That’s what we do in Nigeria. We try to live vicariously through the achievements of people who have achieved great things under their own steam, simply because said people happen to be called ‘Ifeoma,’ ‘Efe’ and ‘Ayotunde.’
Even when Nigeria had absolutely nothing to do with said success, or in fact happened in spite of Nigeria, as with Divine Oduduru, we bask in the reflected glory of their personal achievements.
Sometimes when those people wear a Nigerian flag or post something about Wizkid or Jollof Rice on Instagram, we go crazy with the Nigerian flag emojis because oh my god, they identify with us!
This is not about being a Killjoy Somehow, the complete failure of Nigeria and our complicity in its failure is more bearable when we point at Nigerian immigrants doing great things in life and say “I knew Femi before he started calling himself Anthony.
His father and I were classmates in Aiyetoro.” It is unclear how exactly this helps our situation but hey, it’s also unclear how chugging the amount of alcohol we do helps either.
Escapism is a key part of our culture, and anyone who dissents must be a non-Jollof-eating, vegetarian heretic, and possibly also an atheist.
Now while all this is painfully cringey to my eyes, some will also point out that Nigeria is not the only country that has a weird obsession with its diaspora population.
Even ‘first-world’ countries like Ireland continue to have deep emotional and economic connections to their diaspora, and in any case Nigerians proudly supporting Anthony Joshua or the NBA’s Giannis Ante…African-sounding-name is basically harmless fun. They’re not hurting anyone. Why be such a killjoy, David?
The reason this matters can be found in a quote that has been dubiously attributed to Russian President Vladmir Putin, where he describes Africa as the place where its diaspora does not invest in, but returns to only to die and be buried with their ancestors.
While there is no concrete evidence that Mr. Putin ever actually made that comment, the truth in it is painfully poignant.
For diaspora success to be meaningful to Nigeria, it must correlate to on-ground results in Nigeria. The example of Somalia shows that having a well-educated, globally successful diaspora while being an absolute basket case are both possible at the same time.
