Soludo is right on track in delivering great projects in Anambra. There’s nothing to emulate from Mbah that’s all about media propaganda but almost little to show despite the huge debt or Otti that’s hired media data boys to project him.

Where are the substandard Mbah bus terminals? Has it been put to use? If it was Soludo that invested in airline like Mbah, you all would still come here to post nonsense. But Mbah is hailed for wasting state resources on a refurbished aircraft, something Okorocha did in the past and we know how it ended.

Soludo has done more projects than any southeast governor and keep doing. Other states in the region should come to Soludo and learn work. Soludo is the best governor out of southeast.

Cjrane2:
It shocked me that Soludo would indeed be so wasteful to plan another substandard so called “airport” without sustaining and improving the existing Chinua Achebe International Airport.

Nigerian governors come up with frivolous projects just to loot the treasury and this second airport story is purely for looting. Even in huge America cities whose GDP dwarfs the GDP of entire southern Nigerian have ONE airport that they have continued to improve. Cities such as Washington DC, San Francisco, Atlanta, Miami, Houston, Charlotte, Denver etc have been developing their airport into world class facilities. In South Africa, their major airports in Cape Town, Joberg, Bloemfontein, Limpopo, etc are continuously improved annually into world class facilities. It’s only in Nigeria that a capital intensive project such as an airport is left in its initial shoddy state while new and even shoddier airports are built.

Soludo should emulate Peter Mbah and Alex Otto who have been systematically improving their states through strategic development of infrastructure including modern bus terminals, and supporting the establishment of independent power plants to boost their economy.

Soludo is building Aerotropolis international airport. This area has been approved as a Free Trade Zone. Anambra needs the infrastructures, you have never supported Anambra even having one airport, you were all over here when Chinua Achebe airport was being built and we know how you were here crying up and down, today, we got it and going even higher to the next one.

abuzz33:
The Chinua Achebe airport does roughly 300 passengers per day or roughly N1m in revenue per day. The yearly revenue of less than 400m yearly means that it is effectively subsidized by the ANSG because that is not going to be enough to run power, pay salaries and upkeep the tremendous capital costs of maintenance.

Building a second airport is foolishness or a looting opportunity. Some say Soludo is building it for a proposed new South East state promoting Ekwulobia as the capital but its grand foolishness.

If he wants to leave a fundamental legacy project there are far more impactful things he can do such as many that you suggest. Indeed, if transport is his concern its about time the state organizes transport with modern buses and phases out keke anx shuttle buses.

Anambra Recovers Ten Oil Wells From Delta State

By Chukwuemeka Modilim (ABS News)

Anambra State Government says it has recovered a substantial number of oil wells belonging to the state which were previously credited to Delta State.

The Managing Director of Anambra State Solid Mineral Development Company and Chairman of Anambra State Petroleum Energy Resources Limited, Professor Charles Ofoegbu, who disclosed this in Awka while speaking to the ABS, explained that when approval is given to the report of a verification exercise conducted by the Revenue Mobilisation Commission on the oil wells, Anambra State will begin to receive additional revenue from the oil wells located on the Anambra maritime boundary with Delta State.

Professor Ofoegbu revealed that the state government is working hand in hand with foreign investors to put in place a modular refinery in Osamala, Ogbaru Local Government Area, that will produce petroleum and diesel to serve Anambra State and its neighbouring states, which will generate huge revenue for the state. He said that the state government is working tirelessly to recover a substantial number of Anambra oil wells currently being claimed by Imo, Delta, Rivers and Enugu States due to boundary issues, which will in turn increase the state's thirteen percent oil derivation from the Federal Government.

He revealed that currently his agency is opening up a mining site at Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area for the processing of kaolin, which will also earn the state huge revenue. He further said that the state government is working towards establishing a processing plant for bentonite at Achalagu, Nteje, while the raw materials are found in Umuchu and Ufuma, noting that bentonite, which is used in the oil industry, will also earn the state additional revenue.

Professor Ofoegbu maintained that the revenue Anambra State earns from the oil sector has contributed immensely to the spectacular performance of Governor Chukwuma Soludo in all sectors, including the construction of Solution Fun City.

Anambra Government, Shell Energy Nigeria Collaborate To Provide Gas Energy For Industrial Revolution

By Ngozi Obileri (ABS News)

The Anambra State Government is collaborating with Shell Energy Nigeria to introduce gas as a source of energy that will guarantee steady supply and promote industrialisation in the state.

This was the high point of speeches made during the Anambra Energy Stakeholders Forum held in Awka for industrialists and Managing Directors of oil firms in the state aimed at preparing their minds on the need to shift from diesel to gas as an alternative to electricity.

Presenting a keynote speech at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, who spoke on the topic, “Industrialisation in Anambra: Realities, Challenges and Opportunities,” explained that the journey of the plan for the state to embrace the innovation began two years ago and is coming to a climax with the stakeholders forum as a significant approach by Governor Soludo to change Ndi Anambra from consumers to producers, adding that Anambra has the potential and enabling environment that would make the policy thrive for the good of all concerned.

Earlier in her speech, the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, said that Governor Soludo has since begun the plan through the provision of amenities like good roads and cities that would enable investors live, do business and enjoy themselves, making Anambra the first destination for investors, even as she said that shifting from diesel to gas would give investors value for their money and aid all-round development of the state.

The Managing Director of Shell Energy Nigeria, Mr Ralph Gbobo, and the Managing Director of Shell Energy Ghana and Head of New Business, Shell Energy Nigeria, Mr Brian Murivki, said that they are out to make things easier for industrialists as they have a well-thought-out strategy to shift from diesel to gas and provide the next chapter of industrialisation growth in the state to witness the transformational impact of reliable, affordable natural gas, as it lowers operating costs, reduces volatile prices and strengthens competition, as they have already done in some states in Nigeria.
