Why don't you go first, and come back to pick your family.

This is a good idea. If one person should go first, then I would guess it's the man first right? But through which route? Education? What about the cost considering the amount the man has?

Job route? What if the man's current job or past experience isn't in the occupation shortage list?

I'm just saying this based on ealier UK suggestions and from what I've read... Maybe other locations are easier but I don't know and that's why I'll appreciate more insight from you.

Thank you for your guidance

About 2000 pounds is needed in his POF account for a period of 28 days before he applies for the UK start-up visa which allows him to establish a business in the UK or work, whichever one he prefers. His wife is allowed to work too. The visa is valid for two years and renewable too.
The caregiver job route is another option that he can explore too.
I have a more detailed information on both routes and an expert that can assist in the process.

I checked immigration.co.uk, there it says one cannot apply to extend the Startup visa. Besides, my friend is not open to starting a business in the UK for now, which the Startup visa requires, as well as trying to get an endorsement letter for the business/idea...

My friend is just looking for an opportunity to migrate with family or just one person goes first then the rest join later... My friend is open to learning a new skill once in the country so as to fit into their job market... Later business can be started once the environment is understood.

The wife doesn't know if the ssce qualification is enough for the caregiver job route.

Thank you very much for your suggestions though. I'll still appreciate more insight based on your knowledge and experience. Thank you

$10000 is enough to fund his relocation to the UK with his family.

Please can you share some information on the route that will work for the amount you mentioned?

Just some idea so my friend can research more on it

Nairalanders please share your opinion on how to migrate from Nigeria given the stated amount and below factors:

My friend would like to migrate from Nigeria due to the harsh economy and insecure environment. My friend is married and has a child who is less than a year old and wants to give the child the best chance of excelling in life. According to my friend, the amount above took over 10 years to save as a result of leaving a very frugal lifestyle.

My friend is mid 30s and would like to migrate to Canada, UK or Germany permanently, whichever is easier and most possible to achieve given the amount available and the other factors mentioned earlier. The wife has only SSCE result while the husband has bachelor's degree.

My friend is presently working and earning almost 6 digit salary monthly which is may not be enough to sustain the family long term given Nigeria's worsening economy and security. No opportunity of growth in the job and it doesn't really boost one's cv and the job is boring and repetitive to my friend.

The idea of doing business in Nigeria is a no no because Nigeria is a no no because you have to be corrupt or connected and corrupt to succeed in Nigeria's harsh business environment and my friend doesn't want to take the risk of gambling with life savings in the name of doing business that local government, state and federal government people will tax to death not to talk of other criminals looking to reap where they did not sow. Business is a no no. My friend saved the money over a period of more than 10 years through freelancing. My friend has been saving like 50-70% of freelance income in $ and depending on salary and other side hustle for funding living expenses.
Please advise on how best my friend can escape from Nigeria and how they can survive over there abroad.
