They have a right to say "We dont that here in our land".

The constitution you keep referencing to gave constituent states the power to tinker with laws for their locailties, its why Ebonyi can choose to create Egbuge or whatever and implement anti-open grazing laws (the fulanis can also ask, why are you against us grazing our cattle in our govt houses?) and Ondo can choose to create Amotekun.

If it pains you so much that Kano is implementing laws that respect their traditions, cultures, religion and wishes of their people, please take the next bus to wherever and never look back. You wont be missed.

And lastly, we dont have a history of victimhood, the whole world know you guys the culprits.
okay, we are learning.
We have learned that today. When we start using them, nobody should complain. We now have right to make any law against fellow citizens. A law not approved by the constitution.

We don't even have a collective national resolve that we want to make progress or grow, there's only a national resolve to steal. The resolve is, those inside should steal their own now, and those outside are waiting for their own turn to get inside the system and steal their own, too.

When those inside are out, they begin to complain about what they failed to fix while they were there, and those outside before, who are now inside stop complaining about the systemic problem or ignore them completely because it's their own turn to steal and feel insulated from our general problems. You don't talk while eating.

When they're out, they begin to complain again and the "circle" continues. That's what you see Jonathan doing now. That's what we always do.

His Goat and Yam theory is the best way to fight corruption, i've come to realize - even though he was not really serious about fighting corruption.

We have the most selfish population in the world. People hurt the system for their own gains and it's the norm.

No nation grows operating like we do and something is fundamentally wrong with us as a people.
guy you have changed tremendously over a period of time now.
Kudos!

I'm a yoruba but how many northerners understand tips of yoruba language. Yoruba don't solely have the ground where hausa language is, when the topic of second national language from our indigenous languages occur.
Yoruba is not popular even in Nigeria and outside. There is a very high tendencies of someone who is not a Nigerian to know one or more words in what they call Nigerian language such as bia, Chineke m ee, aru, etc which they learnt from nollywood or adventurous Igbos .
Everything about Yoruba ends in Lagos and the few non Yorubas living in it

It's not ridiculous. Stop denigrating the religious belief of others. Respect their religious beliefs or leave their land.

While you are being critical of Kano, why don't you go to Afghanistan and smuggle beer into their country then see the difference between Kano's Islamic belief and that of the Taliban.Smh
so Nigeria is now an Islamic nation?
Nigeria runs two constitution, one permitting the sale and consumption of alcohol and the Islamic northern constitution prohibiting it.

What guides a country, the constitution or the different religious beliefs?
Do the beer sellers force or mandate people to drink beer?
Beer just like cigarette, if it's ur thing ,you do it ,if it's not, u mind your business

And the victimhood starts.

"We are not as tolerant as our fathers", grin and so?

The ingridient to living in harmony in a diverse community is respecting each other and knowing our boundaries, its that simple.
respecting each other by attacking people doing their lawful business and destroying their properties right?
Quote me any part of the constitution that says you cannot produce, buy or sell beer in any part of the country. Or were northerners not present when the constitution was made and amended?
You guys will throw the first punch and start crying when everything starts. Just remember that it's your people that started it first.

Who told you that the Ijaw are aboriginal to Yorubaland and did you bother to study the origin of the Badagry people or you think they don't understand and speak Central Yoruba?

Even the revered Akran himself bears a Yoruba name and speaks Yoruba. Check most of his interviews on YouTube, they are done in Yoruba Language and they are not second class Yoruba.

I know that you are Igbo so I don't blame you. All you know how to do is insult other Nigerian tribes.

I am happy for Osimhen so don't derail the thread. He was born and bred on our soil and we love and appreciate him.

you are a dolt, very ignorant and not ready to learn. Did anybody tell you that igalas are native to any Igbo community in Anambra and enugu?
The igalas were simply carved into those states just the way ijaws were carved into ondo state.

And yes, the badagry people are not Yorubas, some of them have said it many times. They have their mother tongue which is not intelligible with the Yoruba language

Same in UNIBEN. Unless they tell you their surname, you wouldn't know their ancestry is not Yoruba.

Lagosian Igbo's for the most part hang around their fellow Lagosian Yorùbá's. In fact, they solely speak Yoruba to other Yorùbá's from other towns and you know what, no one bat's an eyelid about it.

I myself have never asked any Lagosian where their ancestry is, if it ever comes up in conversation, it will be them that volunteer to tell you.

We had an Owerri boy on the same course, the day my Lagosian Igbo friend told me he couldn't totally understand his Igbo shocked me. This is the same guy that has no problems understanding heavy Ekiti accents.

what do you Yorubas gain from lying?
Why do you guys lie alot?

I get your point but the difference in Yoruba is in accent not meaning like in Igbo. The Yoruba moved from a central place and trace themselves back to same origin unlike in Igbo where some are not even ethnically Igbo but you lump them up as Igbo because they are located in South East. These groups ,like the Igala in Anambra, Enugu etc, even tell the whole world that they are not Igbo.

The Yoruba are significantly monolingual and monocultural
the ijaws in ondo are Yorubas right?

The badagry people in Lagos are Yorubas right?

Always talking rubbish!

In a country of diverse religion and culture. For chaos not to break out, the constitution must be supreme and supercede any other regional laws. If the Nigerian constitution does not prohibit alcohol sales and consumption, no other law should do that. You cannot be enjoying proceeds (vat) from alcohol production and consumption and at the same time be destroying people's business just because they're not your tribals men. Just like in the case of Lagos, I can see the comments of some northerners here saying business men should relocate their businesses if the locals do not like their business. Many times, people have fought to disintegrate this country so that everyone will be in his own country in peace and practice whatever they believe in but it's always met with strong resistance from the government supported by the hypocritical public. Since you want us to remain in the same country, the constitution must be followed and not some regional wishes. We are being treated unfairly now, the south east. We are being targeted everywhere in Nigeria. We the young ones are not as tolerant as our elders. We have come to discover many truths. Let it be on history that we were attacked first in Lagos by the Yorubas, our business was always attacked in the north by radical islamists for some flimsy excuses. Before the biafran war started, this was how our people were being targeted and killed in the north. But the moment we said enough, revisionists have it that Igbos started the civil war. When we start , which may not even be now, no looking back until everything is avenged.

If majority of those in Kano do not want acholic drink sold there they have every right to that. If Nigeria is not a lawless country things prohibited in a jurisdiction should not even find it way into that place least those bringing it are made to pay hefty fines.

but we in the south east do not want to see Fulani herdsmen moving about with cows and destroying people's farms. So according to your logic, we should start attacking them and killing or compounding the cows since it's no longer the constitution that prevails but people's wish.
