Muslims, Listen! This is for Us. Some are asking why Badaru was removed as Defence Minister and replaced by Christopher Musa. Let me be clear—as a Muslim, I’m speaking directly to my fellow Muslims: Nigeria does not belong to Muslims alone, and it does not belong to Christians alone. Being a Muslim does not automatically make you better at leadership. Being a Christian does not make you worse. What matters is work, results, and service to Nigeria. Christopher Musa is now in this position, and we should expect him to do more, not because of his faith, but because that’s what leadership demands. Stop thinking in terms of religion. Stop measuring leaders by their faith. We are all Nigerians first. Our loyalty is to our country, not to our religion. Muslims, wake up: Nigeria is for all of us. Serve the nation. Judge by performance. Unite. What God did is bigger than Islam, bigger than Christianity— it’s about our Nigeria! |

Something tells me that General Christopher Musa was removed as Chief of Defense Staff for "eyes to be off from him", so he could gather informations and come back to head the department (ministry). Everything was well planned. Please make Patriotic Nigerians proud |
can't last one week in the Nigerian army, because I won't wait for any order to shoot terrorists or bandits. Knowing that the order may be delayed and I might be ambushed. I will even do the job more than you expected me to do because I dey quick dey vex, now knowing that your delay is protection, and with the record of soldiers dying every day. You'd better not send me to the war front.

It's in Order, No Checking, We Nigerians can't be deceived again with mere words like this until we start seeing results , Match Words With Action |
Newly appointed Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd), has instructed troops to “sh%%t on sight” and immediately engage any armed bandits they encounter, stressing that they must not wait for further directives. Speaking during his Senate screening on Wednesday, Musa said this firm order is crucial for frontline protection and restoring public trust in Nigeria’s security response. He issued the directive while addressing lawmakers’ concerns about delays in giving commands during insurgent confrontations. According to him, once deployed, troops automatically carry the mandate to neutralise armed criminals. He stated, “You are to engage any criminal or any bandit that is armed and about to kill you. You don’t have to wait. Once you are deployed, you automatically have that responsibility.” Musa warned that no soldier should claim to be waiting for authorisation during imminent danger. He said, “Somebody’s aiming to sh%%t at you, you’re waiting for orders, from who? If any member of the armed forces deployed anywhere tells you that he’s waiting for an order, he is lying and he’s only a c@ward.” He also announced a plan to withdraw soldiers from routine checkpoints and redeploy them to active conflict zones, while the police and NSCDC take over checkpoint duties. This, he said, would allow soldiers to “go into the bushes and take out these criminals.” Musa stressed the importance of restoring security for farmers, noting, “Farmers must be able to go back to their farms. If people can’t eat, you can imagine what will happen.” On the rising killing across regions, he described the perpetrators as “a bunch of evill people on drugs,” warning that terrorists exploit gaps in security coordination. “No Nigerian must be k+lled for whatever reason,” he added. He acknowledged the high expectations tied to his role, “I know that I cannot afford to fail myself, fail my nation, fail my family.” Source -Instablog 9ja

Nothing Reasonable to Discuss in Akwa ibom House Of Assembly, |
A bill seeking to criminalise dog meat consumption in Akwa Ibom State has suffered a significant setback, as 25 out of the 26 members failed to support the motion. LEADERSHIP checks revealed that dog meat is a popular delicacy, mostly consumed with palm wine by most people in Akwa Ibom and neighbouring Cross River States. In major towns, cities, and villages, such delicacies laced with periwinkle and scented leaves are familiar sights at roadside spots, including vendors balancing pots of dog meat on their heads for willing customers and pedestrian patrons. However, the House of Assembly member representing Etinan State Constituency, Hon. Uduak Ekpoufot, argued that it was in bad taste and primitive habits to brutally kill dogs, primarily used as pets and for security purposes, for consumption. The motion presented before the House during Wednesday’s plenary session, requesting the discontinuation of the illicit consumption and sale of dog meat, was unanimously rejected by the lawmakers, who stopped it from scaling through the first. The bill failed to scale through the floor of the Assembly after it received no seconder during plenary. Ekpoufot had raised strong concerns over the inhumane slaughter of dogs, the unhygienic conditions involved, and the serious public-health risks associated with dog-meat consumption. He argued that, “The methods used to kill dogs were cruel, often involving strangulation, blunt-force trauma, or repeated blows, leading to severe animal suffering before eventual death of the animal.” The lawmaker further warned that poorly processed dog meat exposes consumers to dangerous pathogens, such as rabies, salmonella, and trichinella, as well as other parasites, stressing that the practice has been banned in several countries due to safety concerns. But despite the presentation, the motion failed to progress as it did not receive a seconder — a mandatory requirement under House rules. In the absence of any lawmaker to second the motion, the Speaker, Elder Udeme Otong, declared it rejected, resulting in its automatic collapse. https://leadership.ng/lawmakers-reject-bill-to-ban-consumption-of-dog-meat-in-akwa-ibom/

Today, history was made at the Nigeria Senate, Rt.G. Christopher Musa was screened jettisoning sentiment and tribal interest. Himself came fully prepared, and made some very crucial points, that I believe if given the needed support, insecurity will in no distance time become a thing of the past. We commend Mr President on this appointment, it's not late if he can as well reconsider another Nigerian as our minister of POWER, one whose understanding of the sector is superb. |
Difference as Chief of Defence Staff and Minister of Defence 1. As CDS: He was the highest-ranking military officer, but he reported to a political chain. He had no authority over budgets, procurement, or policy - all of which were controlled by political actors who often had competing agendas. He had to operate within a compromised system, rife with interference, moles, and weak command structures. Success depended on approvals from people with political motives, not on merit or operational logic. 2. As Minister of Defence: He is now the political head of the Ministry, giving him power to set policies, budgets, procurement priorities, and strategic direction. He can choose his team, restructure command, and remove political obstacles that previously held him back. He has direct access to the President, who can enforce compliance and back him fully something he never had as CDS. His mandate is broader and deeper, allowing him to implement reforms rather than just advise. 3. The Facts You Must Understand: A CDS can lead troops and operations but cannot fix systemic failures that are political in nature. A Defence Minister with a competent military mind can change the system itself, creating an environment where operational success becomes possible. Nigeria’s armed forces were crippled by weak leadership, divided command, and political meddling - none of which were his fault as CDS. So, this is not a movie, and this is not a repeat of past failures. The difference is authority, autonomy, and systemic control. Give him the freedom, resources, and backing, and he can succeed where others could only report failures. In short: His past “limitations” were structural, not personal. His current role gives him the tools to fix what was broken - if the political will allows it. Nigeria is watching. The country demands results, not excuses. 🇳🇬 By Sa'adiyyah Adebisi Hassan
