If we listened to a recent news, then it is a good news for the Indian Textile Exporters, as both countries are about to reach an agreement wherein Iran would import Indian textile worth US $ 400 million and in return India will get oil from Iran of the same amount. Which will directly help Indian in reducing its total trade deficit with Iran which at present is about US$ 8 billion approximately.

The textile secratary of India Mrs Johra Chatterjee with a high level delegation visited Iran with an aim of increasing total Indian textile export to Islamic countries. This barter exchange trade will benefit both countries and would help develop strong relationship between the both nations.

Published news in the following news sites shows that leather products export from India has reached the mark of $5 billion.

Even with a marginal, three per cent growth in FY13, the total export value of Indian leather and leather goods touched an unprecedented $5 billion, riding a pick-up in orders from the European Region.

The leather industry projects 15-20 per cent growth during the current financial year due to favourble order outlooks. For 2012-13, export of leather and leather products stood at $4,996.91 million against $4873.53 million in the previous fiscal, reporting a modest growth of 2.53 per cent. Acording to Council for Leather Exports (CLE), in rupee terms, exports were up 16 per cent at Rs 271,881 crore against Rs 233,555 crore in a year-ago period.

Indian Express recently published this news about Indian Agricultural Exports which states that Indian agricultural export is going to cross $42 billion in 2013.

Though government constantly focuses on increasing exports of manufactured goods and services, according to a paper written by the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) chief Ashok Gulati along with Surbhi Jain and Anwarul Hoda, its off-on policy on agricultural exports is preventing the country for achieving its potential.

Here Indian Express also has stated that India has emerged as the world's largest exporter of rice, replacing Thailand and Vietnam and the country has also the biggest exporter of buffalo meat beating traditionally strong countries such as Brazil, Australia and the US.

Exports from India grew for the fourth consecutive month recording a growth of 1.6 per cent in April but surge in gold imports pushed up the trade deficit to USD 17.7 billion.

Gold and silver imports during the month under review has increased by 138 per cent to USD 7.5 billion from USD 3.1 billion in April 2012.

Exports in April stood at USD 24.16 billion as against USD 23.7 billion in April, 2012.
