Food › No Single Borehole In The Entire Abueke Community In Imo State. Can We Get Help? by AnyanwuSK(op): 8:14pm On Feb 05, 2025 |
In my entire community in Imo State there is no borehole, we depend on distance running stream to get water.
The last person that tried to dig borehole in the community spent over N10m and yet no water and no hope for getting it.
At this stage now it will be very hard to get person who can afford to try again because of the high risk or chance of failing and losing the money.
During drying season, people spend a lot of time, energy money trying to get water, water is like a rare earth material.
Maybe na Libyans go understand wetin I dey write because I hear say for there, fresh water dey more costly than fuel(PMS)
This is supposed to be the duty of the government, ie if we get.
At home, we bought 1k gallon of water for N25k around late December, after so much management, it got finished at mid January. Less than 3 weeks a big GeePee thank of water worth N25k finished. Something 2 litters of fuel or even NEPA light will help us do if we had borehole. Some people even spend more than 25k based on distance.
Some people said money na water, it's the other way round in my place. |

Because customs collect bribe and failing to arrest those people stealing our subsidized fuel and taking it to neighbouring countries, instead of arresting people involved, banning or strengthening customs, the majority of Nigerians whom are low income will suffer for it.
Few people let's than 10% are trampling on 90% of the people. This is evil |

EmeeNaka: IPOB-ESN has weakened Igbos cohesion. I said it before, that only few Fulani terrorists can chase away our people, after the murderous rampage of IPOB-ESN terrorists on igboland. Now it's happening. Fulani Jihadists from the Sahel invaded Ebonyi and killed over 16 indigenous people in Ebonyi State and you're attacking IPOB & ESN |

nairalanda1: It is because the problem is way beyond politics, who is in power, and so forth.
The things fuelling the problem are
1. Lack of railways....as at the time we were getting independent, many cows were being transported by rail. The deterioration of the rail system by 1992 meant that cows were now being transported by hiking.
(It should be noted that in the USA...cowboys used to herd cows the way Fulanis did. In the 19th century. What ended that was the development of railway links. Why can't Nigeria developd the railways.).
2. The Sahara is encroaching. Rain fall is falling, and so to find pasture...many herders are going down south.
3.Population.
IN 1940's Nigeria was 40 million In 1963, we were 55.2 million In 1991, we were 89 Million In 2006, we were 160 million Now...220 million.
And most of us live in rural areas. Most are farmers. Fulanis too are also increasing with cows.
Result...competition for land that is limited. (Sorry, but the land mass has always been the same. ). Result ...crisis.
4. Fulanis don't want to do ranching. Farmers don';t want to give up subsistence farming and shifting cultivation. Add bad land management...crisis.
But solving all these problems takes time...meanwhile, there are politicans on both sides who need to rile up fulanis and farmers to get into office to continue looting. Crazy writeup to deceive people. Stop defending the Jihadists from Sahel |

If we don’t care how the North choose to live their life, Sultan should respect his age and not ridicule himself more than this.
How can you say Muslims are marginalized in the SW, does marginalize have a different meaning in Hausa language? The Sultan is the spiritual father of all Yoruba Muslim. He speaks on behalf of them. |

Nigerian government is ruled by Janjaweêed Jihadists from the Sahel and that's why you can't hear of repentant ESN or repentant IPOB.
Nobody is talking of the Jihadists killing and kidnapping people daily, they are discussing whether indigenous people of from the Gulf of Guinea are terrorists or not.
The government is pro Islamic fundamentalism. They released 5,000 Boko Haram terrorists 2 days ago. Imagine, nobody care about their victims in IDP camp. They reunited the terrorists with their families while the victims suffer in camps |

It's their right but their right should not interfere with other people's rights If they want such right then they should form their own country with the 12 Sharia States. Nigeria is a secular country, we shouldn't have set of laws. You have read how many non Muslims have been dragged to Sharia court, Hisbah don't care whether you're a Muslim or not.
