AdvertsCalling Nigerian Diaspora 'returnees'! Free Interactive Networking Event . by ao765(op): 10:57am On Mar 04, 2016
Are you a Nigerian Diaspora recently returned back into the country? Do you find yourself being bored with nothing to do? While busy investing and/seeking new business opportunities, do you need ideas to help wind down, relax and explore leisure opportunities? Association of Nigerians in Diaspora for Development (ANIDD) and Development Impact for Nigeria (DIFN) is organising and interactive networking discussion event on these issues and explore options available to you. We have speakers for the leisure and tourism industries, who will make presentations and talk about what's out there. It is hoped that action points will be developed and taken forward. Your input will, therefore, be very valuable.

This event is on Thursday 10th March 2016 at 4th floor, National Institute of Surveyors (NIS) building, (opposite Elephant House), Assbifi road, CBD Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. You are welcomed to join fellow new and old Diaspora 'returnees' and make the most of this networking event. Please reply this thread if interested in attending, or email moulshamconsult@outlook.com or call 08136940065.

Hi yemi and everyone,
I am still waiting for any help you can render in helping me get an intern or volunteer position in a structured company.
Hello
If its volunteering or intern opportunity you are looking for, it should be okay to just visit the companies/offices or businesses near you. Present yourself well and in a professional manner, with your CV and qualification. Ask to speak with HR or office manager. Start by asking you would like to volunteer for at least one or two days a week. I would advice that you go to one of two businesses a day, and do your research about these businesses before visiting them ( google them, etc). Just get out there, show confidence and go for it. What you don't ask you will never get!

Professionals are on this forum. Do not hesitate to share your concerns and contributions. We will be glad to have them.
I am a seasoned HR professional. One area still lacking in many organisation is the failure to implement efficient Performance Appraisal procedures to improve personal vis a vis organisational performance. But because of our insincere and corrupt nature in this country, I wonder if most organisations are willing to implement a robust and transparent appraisal system! There are simple strategies and templates I have to ensure this happens. email me on moulshamconsult@outlook.com

I hear you all o!

Since my post just over a year ago, I have set up as self-employed trainer. However, work opportunities are limited due to economic downturn. When you try and be 'employer of labour' and no work coming in cos no one has money to spend or invest in personal training/development, what now? All this talk of business networking is just all talk and dreams, and not reality for most people. Things are very dry in this our Naija. Na wa o!

I also got text from BG Logistics today, inviting for a chat! My advice is don't go! They are frauds and will ask for money from you for 'business investment'. The Nation newspaper did an investigative piece on them a while back.

Hello
New on Nairaland

I would like to know people's views on the issue of serious discrimination against anyone over-45 (of which I am one!) seeking employment in Nigeria. I have applied for numerous jobs, be it long-term, short-term, consultancy and so on. Despite my wealth of experience, skills and expertise, I have not had even an interview! Are employers intimidated by experienced/older professionals? Surely our experience will bring added value to organisations and we can be of help to younger employees. Please we should not be discarded with yet! We are still useful to the employment market!! Anyone feeling similarly frustrated with this type of discrimination and unfairness?? huh Let's hear your veiws!
