It's clear that the current state of Nollywood is underwhelming. The storylines have become predictable and lack depth, making it easy to guess the ending before the movie even starts.

However, I do think that the influx of southwest influence in Nollywood lately has contributed to its decline in global reputation. The industry had gained international recognition and respect when it was all Igbos affairs, but it seems to have lost its way in recent years.
