Alas, how many people really do the math?

For instance, just look at some of the comments on this forum whenever a celebrity (usually a certain E-Money) shares pics of his newest material acquisition.

A lot of people waste their time chasing shadows, with the hope of being the next music/movie star...all because they have a very poor sense of math, especially probability.

They never stop to consider that it is more probable for lightning to strike them than for them to become stars. So they keep skipping over "boring" careers that are more likely to give them a decent lifestyle

A similar thing happens in the US where youngsters are more eager to get the next record deal or sports scholarship than to pursue "dull" careers in, say, education. And yet by definition, only a very limited number of people can feature in the sports leagues or the music labels.

So what happens to all the other millions who don't make it? They keep "hoping", resolving to "never give up on their dreams", praying for "GOD to pick up their call"...

And that's the real problem.

More people need to wake up and realise the difference between dreams and fantasies.

And that's a personal choice. No one can do that for you.
