Most of the youths supporting him now are probably in Primary or Secondary School when he was governor and are not politically aware of how good governance should be. I was a young adult and had already started driving when he became governor. He's 8 years was a disaster for Anambra, and people like us are very surprised at how the narratives have changed with people thinking he's the messiah.
