Retired personnel are not given anyone to "command" , they are given personnel that will protect them. A father protects his family, that does not mean his family all of a sudden commands him.

These personnel are ACTIVE officers, not chosen by the retired officer (though he can unofficially have input) and are changed regularly and can be changed anytime by the ACTIVE commanding officers that sent them their. The ACTIVE commanding officer is who they report to and take orders from, no one else.

They are not meant to take orders from the people they are protecting, just like the same way those who protect ex presidents and governors do not take orders from them.

When Trump was almost assassinated on stage and doing fist bumps, the secret service did not take orders from him when they forcefully dragged him off stage and took him away. It is even clear they were radioing their bosses and collecting real time orders on how to handle the situation.

There are many ways to fight Wike properly as what he did yesterday was rubbish, but stop actively lying to do so and use your God given brain to attack him properly.

There's a subsisting order that security agencies personnel should not be directly involved in land matters except acting on court order or official duty by government.

Vice Admiral AZ Gambo is senior to the current CDS, General Oluyode, and by that, the CDS cannot go against his orders. This is simple military tradition and precedence.

The only person that can give a counter order to the orders of Vice Admiral Gambo is the Commander-In-Chief, Tinubu, but even Tinubu must be careful because there’s a way he’d handle the matter in favour of the law (Wike) and he would anger the rank and file of the military establishment which will not be good at all.
