SECTION 69 OF THE 1999 NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION AS AMMENDED (RECALL OF A LEGISLATOR)

69. A member of the Senate or of the House Representatives may be recalled as such a member if -
(a) there is presented to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission a petition in that behalf signed by more than one-half of the persons registered to vote in that member's constituency alleging their loss of confidence in that member; and
(b) the petition is thereafter, in a referendum conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission within ninety days of the date of receipt of the petition, approved by a simple majority of the votes of the persons registered to vote in that member's constituency.

68. (1) A member of the Senate or of the House of Representatives shall vacate his seat in the House of which he is a member if -

(h) the President of the Senate or, as the case may be, the Speaker of the House of Representatives receives a certificate under the hand of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission stating that the provisions of section 69 of this Constitution have been complied with in respect of the recall of that member.
(2) The President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives, as the case may be, shall give effect to the provisions of subsection (1) of this section, so however that the President of the Senate or the Speaker of the House of Representatives or a member shall first present evidence satisfactory to the House concerned that any of the provisions of that subsection has become applicable in respect of that member.

I don't think Prof. Utomi can compare Lagos Assembly saga with River's saga. If he did, then it means senility is dawning on him.

Why are they different?

1. Lagos has 2 arms of Government (Executive and Judiciary) working perfectly, while in Rivers, Only one arm (Judiciary is working).
2. Lagos does not have issues between 2 arms of Government, while Rivers do.
3. No arson was committed on any public facility in Lagos state due to Inter - arms of Government rancor, but a whole Assembly structure was
burnt and pulled down in Rivers.
4. Lagos politically resolved it's political issues withing 3 months, while Rivers continued into 2 years.
5. Lagos did not expend budget without appropriation (Grossly unconstitutional), but rivers did.
6. Lagos did not pass any law with any unconstitutional persons, Rivers did.
7. Lagos did not keep quiet while National assets are attacked, but Rivers did.
8. No National asset was attacked in Lagos due to HOA saga, but 2 pipeline bombing occurred in less than 24 hours in Rivers.

NOTE AGAIN: Political leaders in Lagos resolved HOA issues in less than 3 months. Political, Religious and Traditional leaders in Rivers took sides for what to eat and drink. That festering they allowed it to fester for so long worsened the whole crises. Blowing of the pipeline was the invitation of the center.

Help me tell Utomi that he reasoned too shallow on this one.

The senate has a duty and responsibility to show it can manage itself democratically and if there is an accusations against any member there is a ethics committee to address it.

If the ethics committee feel it is beyond them for whatever reason then they should officially advise on the next step to address the matter not ignoring or dismissing it.

Even during a court case the senate president must step down for investigations and until his name is cleared.

Your woman, Natasha is playing on your emotions.

Natasha's sexual allegation case is with the ethics committee already.

Natasha, knowing her accusation is flimsy did not want to go to court.

But Akpabio's wife had gone to court on same matter before Natasha submit her case to the senate. Afterall it was natasha that went to the media first. So the case in court cannot be entertained in Senate to avoid prejudice.

Akpabio's wife is a combatant who won't take that rubbish.

Akpabio does not, and cannot leave his seat for a matter that is just an allegation to personal life not office.
Ask Saraki why he did not vacate his seat for official corruption case at the Code of Conduct bureau?

She was serious in filling libel suit against Akpabio's Personal Assistant.

But not serious enough to file the sexual harassment case. Why? Does that mean she is not interested in making Billions of Naira off Akpabio or send him to jail?

Remember, the Husband she is with was slammed with 10billion Naira suit if he failed to marry her. The gentleman knew he could not afford to pay Natasha 10 billions so he opted for the Marriage.

Order 135 allows them to go into close door section on State of Emergency request from the executive. And that order that will not allow Nigerians to see Seriake Dickson's double-mouth is the order he is fighting hard to point out.
