what is 1:2: 4 ratio mix

for example. There is two method of measuring this ratio. Either by volume or by weight. In volume method, if u use 1 head pan of cement u are going to use 2 head pan of sand and 4 head pan of granite also
By weight implies that u ar going 2 use 1kg of cement, 2kg of sand and 4kg of granite. However, by volume method is recommended due to the nature of some materials eg sand may be wet making additional weight. Hope u understand if not u can ask more

1. 26 rods of 12mm for slab (deck)
2. 10 rods of 16mm for beams
3. 6 rods of 12mm for column (pillar)
4. 1 trip of sand for both
5. 2 trip of granite for both
6. 7 bags of cement to the mixing ratio of 1:2:4
7. 22 planks

for 13x20ft

1. 35 rods of 12mm for slab
2. 15 rods of 16mm for beams
3. 6 rods for column
4. 8 bags of cement
5. 30 planks

12mm rod??

Y is a technical name for a high yield steel. Y12 means 12mm rod

the spacing of the rod is 200x200mm c/c we used y12 for the slab and 6y16 for beam reinforcement. The thickness of the slab is 150mm (6'' inches)

2. Block. This is caused by poor batching ( mixing ratio) of the cement and sand and also the type of sand used in making the block. This problem can be solved by properly plastering the block wall to make sure water does no penetrate inside which in-turn dissolve the block there by affecting its stability. Also reinforcement is good if added

3: Load. This can occurs when there is too much load usually from the roof. This can be corrected by initiating seperate stancion columns to supports the roof. I hope this will help

There may be 3 factors that lead to this crack and each one has its on remedy;

1. Foundation
2. Block
3. Loading

1. Foundation. Before you start building ur house u hav to make sure that u seek advice from professionals in that field to know the type of foundation that is suitable for your site. Foundation defect can be corrected by underpinning and undershoring. This involve the digging out of another foundation at intervals. There is no need to demolish the wall rather than it is done beside the wall untill u reach the previous depth of the foundation. From there u will add like 3ft and fill it with concrete. Then go back to your wall and patch it u can even reinforce it with rod by tying like 2 coarses
