If your birds are located in a quiet area and all of a sudden you play loud music, they will all quickly run to one section of the farm and crowd over themselves, leading to death due to suffocation and stampede. The same thing happens when you suddenly withdraw light from your birds at night, when they are already used to light being on at night. There's bound to be mortality.
