Life's spiritual
Nothing just happens
Did you pray about your situation at all?
Like the popular saying
Good things need prayer the way bad situation also needs prayer
Romance / Re: Reasons Why “japa To Secure The Kids Future” Is Senseless. by Aremu01(m): 6:17pm On Jul 25
Iamblessed85:
If i hear that phrase “secure the children’s future” one more time, i may throw up. I will number my points as i donot have the patience to arrange my paragraphs sequentially.

1. This only becomes a thing when the wife is less successful and have chances of becoming the breadwinner abroad e.g doctors and nurses. The husbands sheepishly throws it all away to start from scratch. I have never seen a wife resign from a blue collar job to become a carton picker abroad. What is wrong with men? God forbid

2. There’s no evidence that kids born abroad are more successful.

3. A public university in Nigeria is better than an unknown university abroad. Afterall, it’s our own educational system that empowered the parents to be able to consider japa and land jobs abroad.

4. Kids born abroad are less likely to attend ivy league schools due to the cost. The high paying jobs would be taken by alumnis of ivy league schools and smart immigrants before abroad born kids that attended average unis.

5. The level of civilization abroad would become the baseline for the kids and they would take it for granted. Imagine if Shakespear were to somehow appear in this century. He would marvel at what the world has become. Here we are, we don’t even acknowledge some of the mind blowing inventions we have currently because it’s our baseline. It would be same for kids born abroad.

6. No evidence exists that you can’t get a high flyer job as a Nigerian schooled. For example, an ex PwC in Nigeria can also get a PwC or big 4 job abroad. I know someone who just got a job with Mckinsey in canada and he spend all his years schooling in Nigeria.

7. A dull kid in Nigeria would also be dull abroad. A kid with grace in Nigeria would also operate with same level of grace abroad

8. Japa to secure the future of the kids would place an unfair burden on the children in future. You would definitely hear some parents saying “ After all I sacrificed to bring you here” They will resent you for it and probably distance themselves from you.

9. If you are successfull, there’s high likelihood for your children to be regardless of their location. Afterall, they carry what you carry except you dilute their genes by choosing the wrong woman

10. 65% or more probability that your kids will undergoe a sex change or be initiated into homosexuality at school. Remember, it is legal for them to do this without your consent and you can get imprisoned if you try to interfere. The society will hail them as “brave”

Just say you don't have money to Japan

Everyone should just do whatever pays them.
I feel like countering your points one by one but it doesn't matter.
But I will give you one.
I finished school in 2014. I never got a job till I left that country in 2021.. that's 7 years.
I haven't completed my education here and already had a job waiting for me...same for me and many other Nigerians here.
You think this is gonna get better when our kids grow up....?
It's your family it's your decision what you want to do with them.
Mind you I can counter each of your points but I don't see the need. Do whatever works for you.

Travel / Re: Why Traveling To Vietnam Might Be Better Than UK Or Canada by Aremu01(m): 12:52pm On Jun 23

Good job I stumbled on your thread yesterday and was impressed. I remember I wanted to consider Vietnam soke years ago but got discouraged due to some things.

I will advise you to ignore everyone calling you a scam. It's normal to have babies and immature one roaming around nairaland looking to make trouble. It could be very irritating and trying to reply every of them is a waste of energy. The energy they give is enough to discourage one. The wise ones will key into it and make something meaningful of their life.

Everything you said about Vietnam is true. I remember the thread of whyna in those days. I am not sure if she's still in Vietnam though. Any old nairalander frequent on the travel section will remember whyna. She helped many people to Vietnam too and we even made contact with her. All these troublemakers will not know hee
Anyway make your money man
Represent our country well and...
Think if a better country to go after you have made enough money over there.
God's speed brother.

IAmHim1:
You're wasting your precious time in church

You don't worship THE Mightiest Spiritual Being ever in a physical building

The moment you start to understand this, your life becomes better spiritually

Help the people around you, think good thoughts and treat people the same way you would love to be treated. Understand that if karma exist, then reincarnation MUST ALSO EXIST

That's all

Thanks for your info
But I am not wasting my time in church.
Peace

It's hard, really hard to keep up being religious when you cross the border indeed.
The church here self isn't so helping. This is my second year and I am still not used to there church system here.
Talk of dancing and singing and praying..for where...and without that church community it could be hard for many to keep up the spirituality.
They sung and pray don't get me wrong o. But na worship alone and prayer that pastor will just pray and everyone say amen. That's all.
I have to talk to myself to start joining Nigeria services online. Lol... I know the kind of background I came from
.
.
Imagine going to a church and getting served doughnut and coffee even before service starts. Someone will now be sleeping in service chai..oyinbo...

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Is It That All This So Called Make Money Or Earn Money Online Are Not Real. by Aremu01(m): 1:14am On May 28
It actually depends on where you are looking and what you are doing.
There's money online but you gotta be willing to put the effort.
People have become millionaires from legitimate online jobs and there lives have changed. I know several several people. It just depends on what you do and where you look
