Over the months, I have been asking people around about reasons why Nigerian ladies find it difficult to pay on a date with a guy they like.

When it's time to pay on a date, Most ladies suddenly feel the man is superior, and end up throwing trolls at men on social media, expressing views about gender equality.

Now let's critically examine what a date is all about: A date is an avenue for you to get to know each other. A date should be more of exchanging ideas so you get to understand who you are individually. So much shouldn't be spent on a date unless the man is in the business of impressing women.


Oh well, Ladies are of the opinion that since they are taking good care of her-selves; expensive weave, nails, and all sorts of accessories, the man shouldn't mind taking care of the bills on a date.

It is somehow believed that when a lady stretches out her hands to the waiter for payments, she's therefore emasculating the man she's on a date with, which is wrong. However, it is most times assumed to be disrespectful if a lady shows off her money to people in the outside world explaining how she paid for a date when a man is eating.

There's a point every Nigerian lady should understand, The man is not superior when it comes to paying for date even if he pays. Even if it happened that the lady was asked on a date by the man, oh well, no doubt the man is expected to pay. but on subsequent dates, it's not a bad idea if the lady requests to split the bills into two.

I'm not disputing the fact that if a man loves a woman, he wouldn't hesitate to buy gifts, spend, protect and make her happy.


Here are reasons why it is difficult for some Nigerian ladies to pay on a date:

The GREED FACTOR

Some ladies are no longer interested in meeting and falling in love without wanting to drain the men or being scared of being used. So they drain the opposite sex by putting all their needs on him.

They often feel entitled to a man's money, once it's clear to you that you do not like or desire to have emotional attachment with your date, then it is pointless to lavish his money and turn him down afterwards.

Some ladies have lost their sense of VALUE

Some ladies have lost their sense of value thereby thinking all they need is in a man, having the mindset that his money will give them happiness. The truth is, when a lady finds happiness from within, it automatically places a value on her and unconsciously makes her love and give joy to the man she's seeing.

Ladies, When you love a man, you will be bothered about everything about him and you will easily give and not withhold. Having this mindset that everything a lady needs is in a man, placing their world needs on him, therefore burdening him and pushing him away.

Some do not understand what it means to love. love not lust. A lady who loves and cares about a man's growth and financial stability will never allow the man to pay always on dates. A lady who isn't after show-off on Instagram or Snapchat will propose splitting of bills.

Some Ladies are HAUNTED BY THEIR PAST

Some ladies were givers in their previous relationships and ended up being used which turned them into a bad drainer. They drain any man that comes their way and eventually push them away.Ladies should endeavor to live a balanced life, let go of your past and be your true self .

Some ladies are confused and cease a date as an opportunity to eat all the food they have been seeing online. Paying on dates with a man prevents the man to say unworthy things or feel entitled to taking charge of your body as he wishes and whenever he wants.

If a lady can't split the bills on a date, it is best for her to order what she can afford to avoid stories that touches the heart. Often times, men think after paying on dates, the next thing to do is taking the lady home and having full control of the body. Do not blame them, ladies gave him the audacity to feel so and think it is right.
