The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has uncovered 3,000 fake graduates who never attended any university. The board also highlighted the issue of illegal admissions by some institutions, which is a significant embarrassment to the country. Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, revealed this in a report published in the board’s bulletin. He stated that some "graduates" had never been in a university due to systemic corruption, and the board had documented over 3,000 such cases. Illegal admissions remain a top priority for JAMB, and the House of Representatives Committee on Basic Education has ordered JAMB to list institutions involved in irregular admissions. JAMB has also warned candidates to avoid accepting admissions without full academic participation and stressed that all admissions must be processed through JAMB.
