Hello guys . I am a silent reader. Please my husband has applied for evaluation of his certificate from Wes since last year and hasn't gotten any response. I have applied for mine too and it has just reached them . please guys (especially those that finished from UNILORIN) does universities(especially university of Ilorin) collect money from Alumni before replying wes or something?or what could be the cause of the delay. Albeit my husband has written wes this morning . thank u Sirs/Mas in advance

OK let me finally address this our weightloss issue

I guess a lot of us know about how I started my weightloss journey sometime in October this year, after I realised I had gained about 14kg (accumulated pregnancy and post-partum weight).
It was an 8 week program which ended on Saturday and I actually paid 7k for the duration of the program.
I successfully lost about 12.4kg (starting weight was 84kg and present weight is 71.6kg) with portion control and workouts, and my big belle has significantly reduced from 37 inches to about 32 inches (still a work in progress). My target weight was 70kg but I had to slow down in the last 2 weeks cos physically, I was OK with d way I looked [s]and my DH was worried about my nyash reduction [/s] (no b say I kuku carry Ikebe super b4 )
It wasn't easy cos I had to give up a lot food-wise and as a former foodie, I had to discipline myself a lot. The workouts were tough cos I'm a bit lazy but eventually, I got around to loving them when I started seeing results.

Biko, I'm not saying I'm a pro or an expert in weightloss issues, but with the little I've learnt, I'm willing to share with any mama who wants to shed some weight... If u wanna join the fitness guys I worked with, I'll share their details wt u do U can join any of their new classes.
But if u wanna try on ur own, I'm willing to help FOR FREE but it'll be on whatsapp so that we don't derail NL thread and get banned. I'll share food tips, workouts routines etc and we'll just encourage each other Shikena.

U can just mention me, and I'll take it up from there.

Pls mums, is there any successful way of stopping baby from sucking his/her fingers? When I noticed LO singled out 2 of her fingers (index and middle) and started sucking them repeatedly, I became worried and resorted to wearing her mittens and socks. I thought she was already forgetting as she hardly put that hand in her mouth but I still found out she sucks them at any given opportunity. Saw her sucking them few mins ago, she pulled the mitten (this mitten isn't the regular type, quite long...) Pls how can I stop her, everyone including hubby said I should leave her to suck but I don't want her to. How long will I continue to cover her hands? Make una help me o. She's 3 months and 2 weeks old.

u can distract her by breastfeeding her whenever she is sucking her fingers

It may just be that the mucus that clogs the nostrils of newborns has not drained fully. This stuff happened with my 2nd LO and I was told that it will drain with time. It was worrisome cos it was hard to watch my LO look like he couldnt breath while suckling. It went away on its own. Be patient. Kids are different .If there is no other distress baby will be fine

Hiccups is normal in babies. It's a way of expanding their lungs
As for the blocked nose kind of sound I think it's normal too. Other mama's will come and put mouth

I don't think its a problem, my baby still hiccups sumtyms immediately her food digest...as for the blocked nose thingy it still happens to my baby from birth I even went as far as getting vitamin C drop...but I noticed Dre's no cattarh coming out...till one mama here told me its normal...

my less than 3 weeks old baby hiccups alot and when taking breast, she usually make this sound like when an adult has catarrh with blocked nose( I hope u can understand me well) please are they something to worry about?pls help me oooo

I did 3 times and the most beautiful creature ever came forth from me o. ordinary me o, a sinner whom God still love and gave the grace to birth and nurture one of his*may God's name be praised *
less I forget ojare, when I pushed the 1st time, the doc told my husband that am tight and that she might v to cut me.my husband just simply said, she has to be tight now, that was what I paid money for and abeg, give her cut chai! that was how the doc cut me o*still nursing the wound though .episiotomy site suck*
as soon as I delivered my baby girl, all the pain disappeared; no more back pain et al.
In all, I thank God for a wonderful and smooth pregnancy journey. I thank my nairaland family and all them sabi mamas zaynie, jazzyjazz, can't keep mentioning names and all them mamas who had one way or the other helped me and made this journey a smooth one, God bless u all

At past 2am, the man came, checked on me and said I was doing good but that contractions weren't so strong too and he instructed the nurses to give me Oxytocin i was like argh! morogo o. meanwhile I told my husband and the consultant I wanted CS and both said I have tried to get to 9 and CS was out of it.hmmm, after the nurses inserted the drip, some minutes later I was having the urge to push again o. The nurses , husband, brothers and Sils were screaming don't push yet o. u ain't fully dilated , don't allow ur yansh to tear o.lol. (note that I have been having the urge to push bfr the drip was inserted since I was told I was 8cm and each time I tried stopping the urge I end up screaming so bad that I will eventually push ) me I was sha doing the pushing o. It was during one of the don't push that my hubby saw the baby's head and called on the nurses to come confirm and she said it was the head and asked the other nurses to bring me wheel chair and I was wheeled into the delivery room. when I got there, the doctor said whenever I feel any contraction, I should push.

By 5, another doc came to check and said I was 6cm shortly after another came and said 5*ahn ahn na only me waka come* it was then I knew I was in labor o. by 9 another came and said I was 7 argh! I almost collapsed and by then, labor had dawned on me. I was chanting all the psalms I knew, I asked my brothers to b reading some to me, husband was calming me down *baby, this is the pain I was talking about *it's labor pain baby it will soon b over* those were the words he was speaking to me...
another came to check by 1 and said I was 9cm but contractions weren't strong enough *chai*husband came and said same too. by 2, I was screaming out one of the name of the consultant I knew but was told he Was in theatre *chai see my life o.

so 5am I woke him up to check me. He did and he said I was like 2 to 3cm*he has tiny hands* dilated and advised we chilax at home till afternoon...I knew I wouldn't want to stay at home till afternoon. so around 7 I went to bath and by 7.30 I woke Mr man up to let's go to hospital . by 8.45 we got to the hospital and when I was checked, the doc with fat fingers said I was just 2cm I was like Wtf. even hubby said he was sure i was more than that. (pls note, the doc only inserted one finger.)he said I would b checked in another 4hrs jeez. by 1pm, the doc on duty came to check on me and said I was 4cm*I almost collapsed * and said he will come check in another 4hrs again ...hmm, I was in pain but not really a serious one as I was still chatting and attending to calls.

my birthday was June 10 and my edd according to LMP was June 11 and my husband being a doctor has already told me I shouldn't put my mind to it as it's only 5 percent (I hope I got it right) of pregnant women give birth on their edd gan gan.
so back to my story o, midnight June 10, I decided to join the olowogbogboro on live IG from 12am to 1am (abi if I haven't delivered yet that won't stop my shine now*lol coz in all honesty I was tired of being pregnant) and I danced danced and danced to glorify God for a wonderful year. PS: June 9, I did exercises ehn I walked walked and walked then at midnight olowogbogboro challenge again .*back to the main jist
After the dancing and singing I retire to bed to start attending to messages from well wishers for my Birthday so around 2.30, there was an urge to "weewee"so I rushed to the bath to wee. After "weeweeing" I decided to check the toilet bowl and low and behold I saw "the show". The show? wow I was extremely happy so I rushed inside to wake my hubby up. When I told him, he said thank God that it's likely I deliver later that 10th or on edd and that we leave for hospital by 12noon so he asked that I sleep back but me am like sleep ke*orun ke niwaju adajo* i just I couldn't sleep back. BRb baby wan suck

madam worry not,had same issues with my babe,it cleared off on its own...just keep applying breas.tmilk into his eyes as many times as you can.just a drop or two of breas.tmilk.

For the blood stains, the doctor prescribed multivitamin for my baby and in 3days it cleared completely. As for the kinda yellow eyes, The doctor should have tested his bilirubin level. Anyways, take him out under early morning sun and press breastmilk into his eyes. The breastmilk should be before you have your breakfast in the morning.

For jaundice asides from the early morning sun, u need to feed ur baby every 3hours so that he/she can poop and pee well. This helps the jaundice leave the system.

Jaundice may make ur baby a bit more sleepy, so u have t express when baby is sleeping, and then wake to feed

my son had blood too in his eyeballs .we weren't given anything and before two weeks it cleared.for the jaundice place him near the window where the morning sun would reach him everyday.

Good day mamas. I just came to register and a Ftm. I gave birth on Sunday and I discovered on Monday or so that my baby has some blood stains on his eye balls . thanks dear. hers was pierced the same day. I dint even remember to get 1 so I got it at the hospital.

My darling daughter came in 4 this morning via VD after being in labor since 9am yesterday#whew. glory be to God in the highest ! BS coming later. I am tired.

My pregnancy was the roughest to say the least....after a 12 year break....with an EDD of July 26, I was just counting down and could not wait for all the preggie symptoms to disappear!! My hubby and two daughters aged 14 and 12 were my strongest support ever.

I moved to a new country just last week, resumed June 1 and luckily hubby came along to settle.me down. Only for the second jigijigi to occur throughout this pregnancy to take place two nights ago and low and behold, my waters broke and I poured all night.....I was crying all through and hubby blamed himself all night for initiating

Fast forward to yesterday morning, reported to the hospital that had been recommended to me in my new city of abode, and for the scan to reveal that there was little or no amniotic fluid left o....inmediate management was to bring my baby out ASAP...at 33 weeks plus 2 days o.....via CS as they didn't even want to risk a vaginal delivery to avoid trauma or infection to baby. Despite my being a medical doctor, I cried myself silly and have been worried all night about possible complications of delivery at this stage including the possibility of a NICU stay for baby and my fear of CS as my first two were vaginal at 37+ May I advise at this point not to let too much Google mess up our heads.....I read up the good, bad and ugly and was scared silly . I was given steroid shots to aid baby's lungs and also commenced on prophylactic antibiotics and CS scheduled for 1300 hours today. To God be all the glory my people, following start of surgery, baby was our in roughly 3 minutes and yelled his lungs out. On examination by the receiving paediatrician, we were informed he had a fantastic Apgar score of 9, all was good and there was not the slightest indication for NICU stay for even a second....my people.....I was shedding tears on the surgery table of gratitude to God for His mercies indeed last forever

Baby is sleeping peacefully right now, I am still on an adrenaline high and wide awake....what more can I ask for an early 40th birthday present?
