adioolayi: You see why many have been saying there are lot of things to be done, especially on voters education.
It's not enough to be educated and rushed to polling booth...voting also have peculiar education, the minimum includes, accreditation process, knowing your preferred candidates party's acronym, the party logo, and most importantly, how to thumb print and fold your ballot paper after voting to avoid "invalid vote".
Every new voters should not shy away from these things, ask questions, voting is simple but very technical.
The political parties have a duty of ensuring their supporters are abreast of their party acronym and logo...if not, they will be voting for another party..
Acronyms like "AAC" is close to "APC" and the likes..
The established parties have an advantage, because, established voters are accustomed to Umbrella logo of PDP and the Broom of APC...
When new voters are already exhausted queuing for accreditation and collection of ballot papers, they may not have that luxury of finding logos of parties they don't know ...it's likely they opt for a logo of a party they know before now.
LP and NNPP will need to do a greater work on voters education.
God bless Nigeria the article is very interesting and effective. Thank you and good luck for the upcoming articles. Dinar Chronicles Update |
