I started Royal Football Academy back in 2015 with nothing but a dusty pitch and a vision.

Over the years, we grew. Today, we have over 90 registered players across multiple age groups. We've facilitated international placements, played friendly matches against NNL sides, and watched young boys turn into young men with dreams of playing abroad.

But along the way, I noticed a recurring problem.

Talent without documentation is invisible.

I watched scouts get hundreds of WhatsApp messages with player names and video links. Most of those messages were ignored. Not because the players weren't good. Because there was no structure. No data. No credibility.

That's when the idea for ScoutIQ Africa was born.

🚌 ROYAL FOOTBALL ACADEMY (EKITI) VS SUNSHINE STARS U19 – AWAY GAME REPORT

Nairaland, I just returned from Akure, and I need to share this.

I'm Oluwatosin Abiodun, founder and chairman of Royal Football Academy based here in Ado-Ekiti. Yesterday, I traveled with our U19 boys to face Sunshine Stars U19 – a Nigeria National League side with a reputation for developing talent.

Final score: Sunshine Stars 3 – 0 Royal FA.

We lost. But here is what the scoreline won't tell you.

🎯 WHY WE WENT

This wasn't about winning a trophy. It was about exposure.

Our boys train hard in Ekiti. But there is no substitute for:

Playing against organized, professional opposition
Experiencing an away environment
Facing the pace and structure of an NNL academy
Learning what it actually takes to compete at the next level
You cannot simulate that in training.

⚽ THE GAME

First 20 minutes, we held our own. The boys were composed, followed instructions, and showed they belonged.

But fitness, organization, and experience eventually told. Sunshine Stars moved the ball faster, pressed smarter, and punished mistakes.

No complaints. No excuses. Just lessons.
