Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 9:28am On Apr 06
This thread is getting more interesting and I daresay, intense.

So much insightful information is being shared.

Not funny anymore.

Let's wait till it's 2 months.

The way I laughed after reading this. 😅😂

I just came online after the last assessment to see how everyone is doing and how we are preparing for AC
Not expecting 5 pages of arguments from our igwe and AI scammer
It is well oh😂😂😂
Guys as at the last recruitment the email informing them of their success was sent on April 5th
And April 5th is Easter Sunday so let’s keep hope alive and pray well this Sunday

What an entertaining exchange! I haven't quite seen something like this in a long while. It's like a scuffle between an adult and a child who has refused to grow up and have some sense.

Well, that was needed. At least, it will take a chill pill on that AI slop it's been spewing and might be forced to show its true colour more often.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 5:16am On Mar 05
This is actually a really good response. I get it now.
Bobokan:
I think it's due to the volume of applicants and it would help them ensure all the applicants they pick are likely a good fit (culturally).

Think about this scenario: The company needs 100 staff. They can only manage the interviewing of about 1000 people. 100,000 people took the test, 5000 - 7000 people scored satisfactory grades (A and B). 1050 people had As in both tests.

Say they call only the 1050 (which isn't really a good idea as the aptitude tests do not evaluate people and communication skills) for the interview stage, and 200 people passed the interview tasks, but only 63 of them are a good culture fit, what do they do? (After they've wasted time and resources interviewing about a thousand people and there could have been people with B(s) that could have filled the void)
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 6:47pm On Feb 27
For the AC, I feel like we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. Two weeks is a long shot. I've zeroed my mind to two months, give or take a few days.

How nice it would be if they sent it next week, though. Can you imagine our excitement when we get a positive email? Oh, I wish!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 1:25pm On Feb 27
I can see that there are quite a number of guests (people who don't have a nairaland account) on this thread. I know it can be really comfortable reading posts and smiling, but then, there might be a time you actually want to ask a question or interact with the thread.

Even if you create an account then, you'd have to wait for an entire week to be able to contribute. My simple advice is to create the account now. That way, you'll be able to comment when it's time for Assessment Centre. It's quite frustrating when you want to type and nairaland keeps hitting you with that message.

TL;DR - Create a nairaland account now. Shalom!

Someone that is looking for attention. Better not to engage than lose brain cells.

If everyone reports him/her, I believe nairaland would ban the account.

I just reported and cited rule 18 as the rule they've been flouting.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 9:01pm On Feb 25
Yeah, in all things, give thanks.

How was the other job assessment? I can't help but wonder why you had to travel 18 whole hours to get to the venue. Was it an assessment centre or just a normal written assessment?

I do hope you get the job, though, and that lines fall unto you in pleasant places. Cheer up, my guy! The best is yet to come.
captainbangz:
Omo, my second assessment was though. Could not finish my Numerical, the last question I could not answer, even though I skipped some questions that seemed like time wasters, would have earned me a bonus point (just ranking by sales/target). I believe those with jobs write the assessment while being calm (because they have nothing to loose. LOL) and that helps. I had another assessment to prepare for, and would need to travel 18hrs to get to the venue and this job I am more likely to get by God's grace. So I was juggling between preparing for NLNG assessment and preparing for the other assessment too. For this reason, I had to take my NLNG assessment earlier so I can focus on preparing for the other. God so kind, I encountered issues (with shl) I was able to resolve. If I had waited a little longer before taking the NLNG assessment, I don't know what would have happened. The past two weeks were overwhelming for me. 😞. But we thank God.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 8:56pm On Feb 25
For the non-engineering guys, I really haven't seen anyone complain about inductive reasoning. Was it that easy for everyone? Or is it that its own difficulty pales in comparison to the numerical?

Because... those shapes were quite confusing. There were also some questions that required me to use a pen and paper to 'solve'. My eyes were turning after I finished that part.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 4:38pm On Feb 25
You finished your numerical reasoning, yeah?
Trojan8:
Mine was the reverse, ''you are moving a bit too fast, this assessment is not timed'' grin
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 3:47pm On Feb 25
This makes sense.

Anonby1:
I don't know if it was just me but for the JFA the inclusivity?inclusion?/culture options were always "When you fly to a new country do you bother to learn about their culture" or something like that and i usually pick it as the third coz safety, hierarchy and teamwork i feel precedes that, Sometimes even the last choice if all the aforementioned get listed.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 2:43pm On Feb 25
This pretty much sums it up. My questions were 100% in this line. Nothing much about safety, but you see that culture, teamwork and this particular one I saw a lot, "People can clearly understand what I write"? They just kept spawning them.
Stargurl20:
Same. Maybe it's safe to say safety questions were mostly peculiar to Engineering. I chose business related prior the commencement, and i was getting things like team, would like to know about other culture (guessing they are measuring inclusivity), continuous improvement, speaking clearly for people to understand, if i would partake in workplace politics or so, would listen to my manager instruction, would work in isolation and so on..... omo ......... It's God's hands. The numerical especially, scares the hell out of me
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 2:10pm On Feb 25
I can't remember most of the questions, but I don't recall getting so much with regards to safety. I was getting drilled on interpersonal skills and team spirit type questions.

Say, are you an engineering graduate? 🤔

Corporatehitman:
I mean, universities award degrees based on "character and learning".

Character comes first. I'm worried.

If you didn't pick safety over any other thing everytime it came up, be worried as if you didn't complete your numerical reasoning.

There was a time I picked safety as second best because I was receiving prompts of answering slowly and taking time to read. I pressed my accelerator and started messing things up.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 1:25pm On Feb 25
But, why though? Why can't they just wait till the interview stage to know if the person is indeed a fit?

TrafalgarESQ:
That Job focused assessment reminded me of Shell's personality test in the first stage. I've taken that test 3 times and I've always felt sure of my answers but in the end I don't move beyond that stage.

It was the scariest part of the whole assessment to me.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 1:24pm On Feb 25
And this is the part I took with a pinch of salt. Lol.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 12:45pm On Feb 25
This is a very valid concern. Is it possible to do really well in inductive and numerical reasoning, but still be disqualified due to incompatibility in the Job-focused assessment?

If yes, that would be quite a shame for those who are super confident in their answers for the others.

Stargurl20:
Is the JBT really relevant to the selection process, as the numerical especially, coz omo...... embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 12:41pm On Feb 25
Wawu! I found that part quite slow in the sense that the questions seemed repetitive, so I breezed through it. But I understand your point. On a scale of 1-10, you're a 10 in thoroughness and I'm like a 6 or 7.

Vickqwerty:
Exactly! That’s just my kind of person…I’m thorough. I was being so careful during the job-focused assessment that the system actually sent me a pop-up notification. That “We noticed that you are slow, if you can’t see the question clearly contact your recruiter.” Did anyone here got that notification as well?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 11:35am On Feb 25
I envy people like you. I'm an overthinker and perfectionist, and I almost always take my time to do things well. This might be considered a kryptonite in a recruitment where time is of the essense, but I just hope that they don't compromise excellence and attention to detail while encouraging speed.
TrafalgarESQ:
Honestly. I was so confident in my speed from the practice tests but that numerical assessment had me shaking. Got to the 10th question with about 40 seconds left. I just looked at the question for about 10 seconds and decided on an answer.

Anything to avoid possible deductions? I'll take it.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 10:53am On Feb 25
I mean, it won't be bad if they give us AC to cool off nah (pun very much intended). 🫠
Jobbernath:
😂😂😂 you think you won't sweat before u get that money abi
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 10:08am On Feb 25
The funny thing is that the more I solved the questions, the more shocked I became. Like, I know you guys are looking for the 1% of the 1%, but please, let the young breeeeeeeef!

Vickqwerty:
Finally off the one-week restriction….Honestly, that second CA really caught most of us off guard, after writing those numerical questions, I officially decided to take my japa plans much more seriously. I mean, 18 minutes for 10 (30plus) questions? And then each question having three children attached? I’m just praying they consider a more favorable grading scale because that was intense. But well, it is what it is. We move!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 9:59am On Feb 25
Lol... someone is about to go from doubting Thomas to Apostle Paul (preaching the gospel of NLNG's free and fair recruitment process) like airsaylongcome.

Jobbernath:
Lol thought I was the only one that feels disappointed when I check and no updates. You know the first time I saw the publication of NLNG recruiting graduate trainees I scrolled pass even though I knew how big the company was cause I served in Ph city and once passed by their head office in Ph while job hunting after service then I did my own research on them too.
The reason I scrolled pass the article was cos in mind I was like abeg all this connection job let me not bother wasting my time. But then two of my friends sent the link to my DM on WhatsApp and then I felt like, let me just give it a try, I mean what's the harm in trying. Apparently after more findings I discovered these people actually employ based on merit and lots of people had gotten in that way. So, here I am now in the second stage, hoping to get to the AC stage by God's grace and eventually get this job. I mean I'm not even going to lie for someone like me that has never made up to a million in life and coming from a very humble background a job like this will be a total change to my story but in all I'm learning not to be too attached to this, cos in reality not everyone will get in. That's why I always sum it up by saying let God's will be done.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 7:39am On Feb 25
Absolutely!
Jobbernath:
That might be a factor too. Well, only NLNG knows the reason why that recruitment lingered but I'm certain they've grown beyond that now and such lengthy delay in recruitment process is unlikely to reoccur
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 7:36am On Feb 25
Righttttt?

Prior to last year September, I didn't know anything about NLNG. Then, I went ahead and did a deep dive into the rabbit hole, and everything I found out about the company—especially the compensation—has given me sleepless nights. What do you mean people in their 20s can earn that much from a white collar job?

You didn't exaggerate about that routine at all, but it's always disappointing when I come here only to realize that people haven't posted since the last time I checked. That, and refreshing my gmail over a thousand times.

A quick backstory. So, last year, I missed out on an opportunity with GTB because I didn't check my mail early enough to see that they had sent the link for the second assessment. By the time I checked, the time had elapsed and no amount of reaching out and sending them emails did anything to rectify the situation. I've always beaten myself up about it since then. But with the way NLNG gives prior notice for their assessments and with the help of this thread, I know I can never have a recurrence of such.

Jobbernath:
Up until November 2025, never knew this thread existed. But now, each day I wake up after prayers I check for updates, when at work I check again then lastly before going to bed. Coming here has now become a daily routine in my life. Well, the next mail will determine if I'll still be coming here to check for updates. That being said I anticipate being part of the AC candidates, getting this job and resuming as part of NLNG GT sometime later this year. But in all, let God's perfect will be done.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 7:26am On Feb 25
I also think the 2015 elections affected it. Transitioning from a PDP government to an APC administration must've taken a toll on the company due to changes in policies.

When I look back at that year, I remember how everyone villainized Goodluck only to experience the worst government ever, and we haven't even recovered till date.

In case this post comes out looking weird, you'll have to forgive me. I'm just learning the ropes of this nairaland thingy.

Jobbernath:
This can't happen now. I think one of the reasons that recruitment lingered was cause of the Ebola outbreak
Jobs/VacanciesRe: NLNG Recruitment 2025/2026 by Artsynatty: 10:30pm On Feb 24
Phew! It feels good to finally be able to post after being forced to stay mute for an entire week. This feels like coming late to a party when everyone has left. Regardless, I'll just say a few things.

I wrote my test last week Tuesday and boy, oh boy, that numerical reasoning was something. Whilst doing the SHL practice test, I had a variety of questions ranging from pie charts to bar charts and line graphs. But during my actual assessment, I was given 5 pie charts back to back, followed by a bar chart.

I was able to solve the pie charts, but while solving the bar chart question, the time was almost up, so I panicked and clicked 'next' only to see a line graph question just 3 seconds before my time ran out. I was so pained that I couldn't solve the easy one.

In all, I don't know how I did because it's giving "Omoh!" but still, fingers crossed while holding on to my current job (that I just got, by the way) for dear life.

On a different note, I've been reading a lot of great minds here and I can't overemphasize how lucky we are to have you as sages to guide us to the promised land—or in this case, Bonny Island. 😁

PS: This thread just might be the shortest in the history of NLNG GT Recruitment threads.
