Oba Hakeem's father late Alh Benjamin Ogungbangbe was born a Christian. Because he was a brave and courageous man he was sent by his church to disguise as a Muslim to go and learn about Islam in iwo with the hope of using his knowledge to undermine Islam. The turning point in his life came when he was also sponsored by the church to perform hajj in Saudi Arabia. On arrival at kaaba something inside him told him Christianity is a fake religion and that Islam is the truth. He took the Shaada and returned back home to start an aggressive propagation of Islam. There were attempts on his life but he survived all the plots. He was a one man riot squad
He established the first private Islamic secondary school in ijesha land , Ogunsusi comprehensive high school. He went round the whole of ijesha land propagating the beauty of Islam in the early 80's. It was the golden years of NACOMYO and we partnered Alh ogungbangbe in his Islamic proselytisation
Alh ogungbangbe was a Prince of Iloko ijesha a predominant Christian enclave. Alhamdulilah he died at a relatively old age
When the Aloko died it was the turn of Ogungbangbe's family and his first son Hakeem thought it was going to be an easy ride. As usual the majority Christian population created all sorts of impediments in the way just to disallow a Muslim from becoming the Aloko
It is therefore a cheering news that at last brother AbduHakeem has been crowned the Aloko of Iloko ijesha. Waina jundana laumul ghalibun

THE TRUTH

1. There are serious misinformation and distortions of facts in the above publication without prejudice to the motive of the Author!
2. As an Insider, I can only say for now that Late Prince Benjamin Ogungbangbe was never sent by the Christians to serve as a spy in Islam. His conversion to Islam in the early 1960s and his pilgrims image to Mecca in the early 1970s were borne out of genuine personal convictions. Oba Akeem was born in 1964 after his father had become a Muslim, hence his Father named him Akeem. Prince Ogungbangbe did not allow his conversion to negatively affect his duties and obligations to his extended Family, the Royalty and the entire people of Iloko. Contrary to the publication, he was not sponsored for the pilgrimage to Mecca as a spy by the Christians. He was a wealthy and deeply religious man who sponsored himself to Mecca. Despite being a Muslim, Prince Ogungbangbe was loved by all, irrespective of religious leanings.
3. Moreover, Oba Akeem Ogungbangbe's struggle to the throne of Owaloko was never impeded by the Christians and or any religious consideration. Iloko has more than 95% Christian population, the overwhelming majority of whom openly supported his candidature when the struggle lasted. All the Kingmakers who participated in the selection exercise were Christians and all the Kingmakers (except one) voted for the Kabiyesi in 2015, notwithstanding that all the other Candidates were Christians and he was the only Muslim!. Oba Akeem enjoys the support of the Christians, Muslims, Traditionalists and the entire people of Iloko and beyond. The spontaneous joy that greeted the approval of his appointment as the Aloko by Governor Oyetola of Osun State, the array of Public Officers, Traditional Rulers, other dignitaries from all over the world and the unprecedented crowd that witnessed his presentation of staff of office recently in Iloko are eloquent testimonies to his popularity across religious and social divides.
4. Oba Ogungbangbe was appointed and installed at the time ordained by God and the Government has allowed the voice of the people to prevail. Kabiyesi deserves the support of all, and not things like the publication under reference that are capable of distracting him from performing his Royal duties. Consequently, the circulation of the present publication and similar ones should stop in the interest of all concerned.
