We recently revealed the expected specs of the Tecno Spark 7 based on leaked information. Our previous reports pointed that the Spark 7 will be Launched next week. The company has since then Come up with an official launch date as spotted on Amazon India. Tecno spark 7 Expected Specs According to a recently Setup Page on Amazon india, the Spark 7 will be launched on 9th April in India. The setup promo page on Amazon India reveals that the Smartphone will come packing a 6,000mAh Capacity battery. A battery which Tecno Claim to Offer up to 41 days of Standby time in a tweet on their official India twitter account. The renders of the Tecno Spark 7 we previously revealed only showed the design and Ports to expect on the spark 7. But what this render did not reveal was the rear setup. However, thanks to the images provided on the Tecno spark7 Amazon promo page, we now know that the Spark 7 hill sport a dual Camera setup at the rear. Located just beside it will be the phone’s Fingerprint Scanner. As we previously stated, the Cameras will Come with video features such as Time-lapse Videos, Video Bokeh, and Slo-Mo video recording. Moving to the front, you will find two plash modules on the top bezel. One to the left and the others to the right. They are positioned on the phone to help users get brighter Selfies and video calls in dim lighting. We have also Covered that the spark 7 Comes in Green, Black and Blue Colours. One of the images on the promo page Confirms the phone will come in Careen Colour. The first render revealed the Blue coIour variant, and we are still waiting for Confirmation of the black. Not much about the Spark 7 Specsheet has been reveal. However, with the Launch being in a few days’ time, we expect Tecno to reveal more features, in other to build up anxiety. After launching the Tecno Spark 6 last year September, Tecno is looking to launch a new Spark 7 next week. The Spark 7 is meant to be the Successor of the spark 6. For now, not much have been leaked as regards to what to expect specs-wise but we hope it meets up other Competitor’s spec Sheet. However, gsmarena recently Posted exclusive renders of the upcoming Smartphone which gives us an idea of what to expect. What We know About The Tecno Spark 7 From the image we can see that the Spark 7 Sports a waterdrop notch display. However, no leak has uncovered what the screen Size and screen resolution are. From the renders, we spotted that the Tecno Spark 7 has a textured back with a big Spark branding on the bottom left. It is not possible to detect the rear Camera Setup from the image provided. But, given that the Spark 6 featured a quad Camera Setup, we hope to see the same here and hopefully with better Camera quality. Though not visible, we strongly feel the Spark 7 will sport a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner like its predecessor. According to gsmarena, Tecno previously said that the Spark 7 will be available in Green, Black, and Blue colours. They also mentioned that the spark 7 will come with Video features Such as Time-lapse Videos, Video Bokeh, and Slo-Mo video recording. The tech giant went on to say that the Spark 7 series will feature Time-lapse on both the front and rear cameras, with speed settings ranging from 15x to 5400x. What Else? In addition to this, the picture reveals a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microphone placed at the bottom. Sadly, we do not Spot a speaker grill in the picture anywhere on the phone. This simply means the Speaker might be located at the top of the phone or the rear, right next to the Camera. The later is likely not to happen given that this type of Speaker placement went out of Style years ago. But, if it does happen, this will be a very odd speaker placement. As we mentioned earlier on, not all the specs have been revealed about the Tecno Spark 7 yet. However, we will do our best to keep you updated on new developments before its Official Launch. i tried adding a picture of the Charging pad, but I kept getting an error when i tried to submit it. You can still follow this link to see an image of the pad. https://astrotechz.com/xiaomi-announces-its-first-wireless-charging-pad-on-march-29/ |
During the Mi 11 Ultra event that took place on the 29th of March, Xiaomi launched a new wireless charging pad. The pad was designed with the ability to charge three devices at the same time devoid of precise placement. The wireless charging pad by Xiaomi is similar to the canceled AirPower charger by Apple. During the launch, Xiaomi mentioned that the charging pad features 19 coils that were strategically placed. This arrangement allows users to place up to three devices that support Qi wireless charging on the pad and charge them simultaneously. The pad is capable of giving out 20W of wireless power per device, making a total of 60W as its output. Xiaomi announces its first wireless charging pad on March 29 Xiaomi’s wireless charging pad will be sold for a retail price of about $90. This is quite cheaper and more affordable compared to most charging pad clones by other companies. However, we are yet to learn if the charging pad will be launched outside of China. Is Xiaomi The First Company To Clone Apple’s wireless charging pad (Airpower)? Though Xiaomi has been previously criticized in the past for adopting Apple’s design elements and methods, in the case of charging pad, Xiaomi is not the first company to make its own clone of the Apple AirPower. Many other companies before Xiaomi have come up with their own clone of the Apple Airpower. For instance, in 2019, Nomad released the Base Station Pro, an 18-coil wireless charger that can charge any three devices with no specific placement. But a major disadvantage was that aside from the iPhone, the pad only provided 5W of charging to other smartphones. The difference between the Base Station Pro and Xiaomi’s charging pad is the addition of an extra coil and possibly better charging experience. Together with the charging pad, Xiaomi also launched the Mi 11 Pro, which features a 67W wireless charging contrary to the Mi 10 Ultra and Huawei’s Mate 40 Pro, which previously had the fastest wireless charging at 50W. Xiaomi also announced a new 80W wireless charger in its launch event. Read more latest news at: https://astrotechz.com/ |
Google’s Pixel phones now features a new useful skill called Mobile Vitals with the release of version 2.51.19 of the Google Fit app. According to techradar, supported models of the pixel phones will start getting new updates from the 8th of March. This update allows users to read their heart rate and respiration rate through the Google Fit app. Google previously announced this feature in February. However, according to Android Police, this feature has already started rolling out to eligible Pixel devices as confirmed by google. It is expected that it might take several days before all eligible phones get the update. Once the feature is enabled, your pixel will be able to measure your heart rate when you place your fingertip over the rear camera. This is done by analysing your skin colour changes. Google claims that the readings are accurate to within 2%. To get respiration readings, your head and torso must be positioned in view of the front selfie camera. The camera then monitor’s your chest movements to assess how many breaths you take per minute. Google claims that this reading is only accurate within one breath per minute. Eligible devices for the Mobile Vitals update have not been announced by Google yet. However, TechRadar presumes that the update will roll out to those with a Pixel 3 through to Pixel 4 and Pixel 5. TechRadar further stated that the feature will not only be available to Pixel phones. After a while, Google plans to make the feature available for other Android devices. The final decision still boils down to individual device manufacturers to support them. How To Use Google’s Mobile Vitals Tracking Feature If you are interested in tracking your heart and respiration rates, you are better off with a fitness tracker or a smartwatch. This is because they can constantly and automatically monitor your heart and respiration rates. But for those that check their heart and respiration rates occasionally, this feature will prove extremely useful. Just like most mobile companies, TCL is also working on a foldable and rollable phone of its own. This device is expected to be launched some time this year. However, recent rumours points to a phone that incorporates both the foldable and rollable tech on one phone. Why incorporate just a foldable screen or a rollable display when you could put both in one device? Am sure this was the question on the mind of TCL when they came up with this idea. According to sketches and renderings obtained by CNET, on one side of the phone TCL makes use of a Dragon Hinge and on the other, a rollable extension. The company seems to be working on a smartphone that can transform into a large tablet by unfolding and rolling out the device. CNET says TCL plans to unveil the device in mid-April at the same time it plans to launch its 20 series phones. The phone is tag as a ‘concept device’ and is unclear as to when or if the phone will see the light of day. TCL is one of the experts in the television industry but has a low profile in the phone industry. A prototype of a rollable phone from the manufacture has been seen by most, while screens that roll have also been spotted in TV sets made by TCL. However, the journey from concept to reality is not always as smooth as we would hope. Continue reading at: https://astrotechz.com/tcl-working-on-phone-with-both-foldable-and-rollable-displays/

Xiaomi brand will hold a “Mega launch” next week; we expect to see more premium smartphones launched. The Xiaomi Mi 11 is the brand’s main flagship of the season, offering a strong mix of specs and features at a competitive price. This might be the end of your search if you have been looking for something with a little classier. Similar events will be hosted in China and Europe by Xiaomi on March 29. The event invites do not divulge much about the event especially on what will be announced, but seen on the Chinese poster is a company executive running with a wearable on his wrist. What Else To Expect In The Mi 11 Ultra Launch To address multiple price points and better compete with its rivals from other brands in the nearest future, it is expected that Xiaomi will unveil additional devices in the Mi 11 family, namely, the Mi 11 Pro, the Mi 11 Ultra and the Mi 11 Lite. The top-of-the-line model will be the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. This might be the company’s first truly premium flagship, similar to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. It is rumored to possess high-end specs such as a new 50MP image sensor (Samsung ISOCELL GN2), a 120x periscopic zoom camera, a larger battery and a second display on the back with interesting use cases. Not much information is known about Mi 11 Pro, though it is expected to be a slightly upgraded version of the standard Mi 11, having a better/more cameras and a larger battery. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is expected to be available in both 4G and 5G, the variation is based on the region. The former is tipped to be powered by the Snapdragon 732G while the latter is said to go for the Snapdragon 765G or 775G. There is a high possibility it will be one of the slimmest and lightest phones of the season. Currently, there is no certainty about the existence of any of the abovementioned devices. More will be revealed on what Xiaomi has in store for us in the coming days. Xiaomi brand will hold a “Mega launch” next week; we expect to see more premium smartphones launched. there have been complains about camera quality as compared to some budget phones. |
Apple seems to be rammed with a lot of lawsuits this year. After facing a lawsuit by consumer advocacy group in Europe for intentionally throttling older iPhones in Italy, they are faced with yet another lawsuit from Brazil. This new lawsuit was filed by consumer protection agency Procon-SP in Brazil’s São Paulo state for $2 million. The $2 million fine Is for failing to include chargers within iPhone 12 boxes as reported by 9to5 Mac. Apple engaged in “misleading advertising, selling a device without the charger and unfair terms,” said Procon-SP. In October, Apple announced that the iPhone 12 would not come with chargers or earbuds in their boxes. Apple cited this update to be in respect to environmental concerns. Apple mentioned that by only including a USB-C to Lightning cable in the iPhone 12 box, it would be reducing raw materials for each iPhone it sells. This is in addition to reducing the size of the phone’s boxes. Critics claims the change had more to do with Apple reducing its shipping costs than its concern for the environment. Environmental experts have also said that this change has very minimal impact on the environment. Apple lawsuit: Apple’s Response To Procon-SP Procon said its enquiry as to whether Apple would reduce the price of the iPhone 12 due to the absence of a charging brick has fallen under deaf ears as apple refused to give them a response. The agency also accused the tech giant of failing to provide customers who had “problems with some functions” on their iPhones following updates with help. Procon-SP Executive Director Fernando Capez said “Apple needs to understand that in Brazil there are solid consumer protection laws and institutions. It needs to respect these laws and these institutions.” However, The Verge has pointed out that the fine is unlikely to hurt Apple. Given that the company had reported $114.4 billion in revenue in the first quarter of the year. This is not the first and will certainly not be the last case Apple will face. In a most recent case, Apple has been ordered to make a payment of $308.5 million to Personalized Media Communications (PMC) for patent infringement. Following rumours on the web, Apple may discontinue the 13.3-inch high-end MacBook Pro. The rumours suggest that the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro will be replaced with a redesigned 14-inch model sometime this year. These rumours may be true given recent events. Apple recently discontinued production of three products, the original HomePod, the iMac Pro and two of Its 21.5-inch iMac Configurations. So, I won’t put it past Apple to discontinue this product line. Though Apple appears to be committed to the 13.3-inch MacBook Pro as its entry model for the time being, updating from intel to its M1 silicon chip, there have been no update for the high-end 13.3-inch MacBook Pro since May 2020, meaning the device still runs on an intel processor. The redesigned 14-inch MacBook model will likely maintain the same overall casing size as the 13.3-inch model. There might only be an increase in the screen size which will be achieved by reducing the top and side bezels of the MacBook. The entry-level and high-end MacBook Pros were previously distinguished by the numbers of USB-C ports or the Touch Bar they have. But now, the difference in the screen size of the 13.3-inch and the 14-inch MacBook Pro will help to clearly distinguish between the entry-level and high-end MacBook Pros. Thereby giving justice to the $500 price difference between the two lineups. What To Expect From The New 14-inch And 16-inch MacBook Pro The new 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are rumored to feature new designs, brighter panels with higher contrast, function keys with no Touch Bar, more ports, a MagSafe connector for charging, and high-performance Apple silicon chips. As reported by MacRumors, in a recent note to Apple’s investors, Kuo explained that: In terms of casing design, the new models cancel the curvy design of existing models’ top and bottom parts and adopt a flat-edged form factor design similar to the iPhone 12. The speculations about the launch date for the new MacBook Pros all point to the second half of the year. For now, sit, relax and make sure to stay tuned as more information flow in on what to expect from the MacBook Pro’s new design. source: https://astrotechz.com/apple-planning-to-discontinue-high-end-13-inch-macbook-pro/ |

The Snapdragon 888 has been announced by Qualcomm as their top-tier SoC (system-on-chip) which will be powering some of 2021’s biggest flagship phones. This new chip was announced during Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit 2020. A yearly event organized by Qualcomm to unveil their latest chip technology for the next generation of phones. Every smartphone is as good as its chipset, and what makes the announcement of the next flagship Qualcomm chipset exciting is the new features it will enable on future smartphones. The previous snapdragon 865 was found in versions of the Samsung Galaxy S20 range, the OnePlus 8 series and other phones manufactured by Xiaomi, LG, Sony and more. This means the new Snapdragon 888 could well find its way into some of the biggest phones by these brands in 2021. Snapdragon 888 features Cameras There’s good news for mobile photographers, as the Snapdragon 888 chipset brings with it a host of new camera-related features. One of the big additions is the triple ISP (image signal processor), which allows handsets to offer triple concurrency on their multiple cameras. What does that mean? Basically, smartphones with the Snapdragon 888 will be able to capture three streams of 4K HDR video simultaneously. That could be three video feeds from the rear ultra-wide, wide and telephoto lenses for example, or video recording from two rear cameras and one front-facing camera all at the same time. This could be especially useful to video editors, who will end up with three separate video files to edit from just one device. The triple ISPs on the Snapdragon 888 can help photographers too. You’ll be able to take advantage of triple photo capture, giving you the ability to capture three images, from three different lenses, at the same time, at up to 28MP each with no shutter lag. As with the video recording, this will produce three images from one device – with each one providing a slightly different perspective depending on the lens it’s from. This ability allows three cameras to be running at once in the background too, so even when you’re only using one, it can instantly switch between them, so there’s no delays when swapping between, say, ultra-wide and telephoto. What Else? Qualcomm has improved its burst capture technology on the Snapdragon 888, with phones packing the chip given the ability to capture up to 120 photos in one second, all at 12MP. Useful for anyone looking to shoot action or sports, and Qualcomm says this is 35% faster than the Snapdragon 865. The Snapdragon 888 is also set to improve low-light photography, with a new architecture that’s able to capture shots in very low light, down to 0.1 lux. There’s support for 10-bit HDR HEIF photo (and video) capture as well, allowing you to take photos in over one billion shades of color. You’ll be able to capture, save and display images in 10-bit, up from 8-bit previously. As well as the triple 4K HDR video capture, smartphones with the Snapdragon 888 will also have the option to enable 4K video capture and playback at 120fps (frames per second), while computational HDR video capture allows for recording with extreme dynamic range – combining multiple exposures at 4K video rates. This will help not just for video recording, but also for video calls. The Snapdragon 888 also allows photos to include a cryptographic seal, which confirms that they’re genuine photos rather than fake. Huawei EMUI 11 Roadmap Huawei has released the roadmap for EMUI 11 rollout in different regions. The new software was unveiled in September, and now handset and region-specific rollout has been detailed. For instance, the company confirms that Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Huawei Mate 30 Pro phones in India will receive the EMUI 11 update in Q1 2021. Similarly, it has released roadmaps for different handsets in regions like Middle East Africa, Russia, Japan, Latin America, Asia Pacific, West Europe, and even North East Europe. Huawei has confirmed the open market rollout for EMUI 11 in the above-mentioned regions. The company notes that this does not include carrier-locked models. The Huawei P40, Huawei P40 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro+, Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G will receive the EMUI 11 update starting December this year, in regions like Middle East Africa, Russia, Asia Pacific, West Europe, and North East Europe. Latin American users will receive the update on these handsets in January next year. Huawei Mate 30 Pro models in India will receive the update in Q1 2021. Similarly, the Huawei Mate Xs will receive the EMUI 11 update in January next year in regions like Middle East Africa, Russia, Asia Pacific, West Europe, North East Europe, and Latin America. Other handsets in the Huawei Mate 30 range, Huawei P30 range, and even the Huawei Mate 20 range will receive the latest EMUI 11 updates sometime in Q1 2020. Below are the full roadmaps Schedules for each region to receive the new EMUI 11 updates. Please notice this update roadmap announcement is for phone models on the open market only. If you are using a carrier’s model, please refer to your carrier’s update plan. The Final Verdict Huawei’s EMUI 11 beta feels like a flat improvement to the older operating system. With both major and minor tweaks to apps and performance, it seems like Huawei is continuing its mission to show the world that a Google-based operating system isn’t a requirement for an Android phone. Having said that, it’s still an upward battle as while EMUI has been improved in every facet, it’s still not a comfortable system for folks used to Google to sink into. This could have been an excellent opportunity for Huawei to go all in on onboarding users not in the know, yet EMUI feels like it was designed to cater to users already in on Huawei’s ecosystem, a market that the company shouldn’t really be focusing on when so many people still need to be convinced that its devices function at a similar standard to other smartphone brands. Apple’s decision to quit Intel and use the Apple M1 chip to power the latest MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac Mini will save the company $2.5 billion, according to a new report. One of Apple’s biggest stated reasons for moving to the new ARM-based silicon was as a cost saving measure and, according to Wccftech , dumping Intel is looking to be a very smart financial move for the company. The $2.5 billion figure was determined by Sumit Gupta, IBM’s AI strategy lead, who calculated Apple’s M1 production should cost in the range of $40 to $50 per chip against the cost of procuring Intel Core i5 processors at around $175 to $250 a chip. Gupta gives a fairly detailed breakdown and his calculations come with a host of assumptions rather than raw data, but they are still within the scope of what we know and what we can guess at about Apple’s internal production process. Apple M1 chip: Savings from ARM-based silicon simply the icing on the Apple While Apple’s cost savings from switching to its own M1 chip are no doubt substantial, the early reviews of the new M1-powered MacBooks and Mac Mini reveal that this cost savings hasn’t come at a cost to performance. In fact, Apple seems to be getting better performance at roughly 25% of the cost of an Intel CPU. According to the Geekbench Mac benchmark database, the new Apple M1 chip -powered Macs are outperforming their 10th-gen Intel-powered predecessors by a substantial margin. Plus, with the improved power efficiency that comes with the ARM architecture, Apple looks to be getting better performance, better battery life, and substantial cost savings by using its own silicon. What’s more, the degree of control Apple now has over its own processors in its machines will certainly lead to significant innovations in CPU development across the board. All in all, Apple’s M1 chip is shaping up to be a truly groundbreaking… and priceless. Source: https://astrotechz.com/apple-m1-chip-could-save-2-5b-a-year-after-dumping-intel/ |
Sony has put a lot of effort in recent years into delivering a high-end 49in set better than most of its rivals. The Sony KD-49XH9505 is one of such TV set to hit the market in 2020. The KD-49XH9505 is looking to make it four in a row by cramming in more of Sony’s top tech than has been seen before in a TV this size. There’s more pressure this year, though, with 2020 marking the debut of a 48in OLED. Can this Sony LCD still take the premium crown at this size? Sony KD-49XH9505 Pricing The Sony KD-49XH9505 starts at £1199, which is £200 less than its predecessor launched at last year. The US model priced at $1000 is known as the XBR-49X950H. If a bigger TV is what you want, then the XH9505 is also available in 55in, 65in, 75in and 85in versions. These larger versions also come with a more advanced sound system, an X-Wide Angle panel that should improve viewing angles, and different feet that can be placed at the bottom corners of the set or closer to the centre for a smaller footprint. Sony KD-49XH9505 Design It may be a bit disappointing to know that the Sony KD-49XH9505 looks more identical to last years XG9005 model. The chassis and everything about the Sony KD-49XH9505 appears to same as the XG9005 model, except for the feet, which now comes in near-black rather than silver. This is simple more or less last years TV design with a 2020 hardware and software. But does that really matter? It’s a shame Sony hasn’t taken the opportunity to slim the set down, as it measures a rather chunky 6.9cm (the 49in Samsung Q80T that will likely be one of its closest competitors is 5.5cm deep and the 48in LG CX OLED is just 4.7cm). And those feet, while designed to accommodate a soundbar, still look a bit silly and give the TV a very wide footprint. Ultimately, though, this is a smart-looking set from the front, with the thin, brushed-metal bezel stylishly framing the onscreen action. There has been a change in the remote, along with the XH9505 getting the zapper Sony launched with its premium sets last year. Not only is this a more ergonomic and better laid-out bit of kit, it boasts Bluetooth functionality so isn’t reliant on line-of-sight. That change in remote control has also precipitated the single alteration to the set’s array of connections: the removal of the input for an IR blaster, which we would imagine few ever took advantage of. We’re left with a fairly typical connection selection that includes four HDMIs (one of which supports eARC), three USBs and an optical audio output. Sony KD-49XH9505 Features While things on the outside look familiar, there have been changes made to the inside. The Sony KD-49XH9505 is packed with Sony’s latest top chip the “X1 Ultimate”. This adds super Resolution which is designed analyse and enhance the definition of objects in an image intelligently. There is also an version of object Based HDR Remaster, which follows similar approach to contrast. You are sure to enjoy better user experience with this TV set because of its extra processing power. Interating with Android TV has been made more pleasant than usual, as the sets now responds almost immediately to button presses. The Sony KD-49XH9505 comes with an Android version 9 with upgrades to 10 made available later on. Continue reading》》》https://astrotechz.com/sony-kd-49xh9505-review-price-specification/ |
PlayStation 5: Sony has re-imagined the key parts of the experience – from a simpler setup and new well-thought-out user interface, to a revolutionary controller and added bonuses for PS Plus members – and the result is a console that we can’t help but be impressed with. Sure, there are problems with how few first-party games there are at launch – and it would have been nice to see support for previous generations of PlayStation titles, not just PS4 games – but the PlayStation 5 feels like a solid investment nevertheless, and we’re confident that the PlayStation 5 experience will improve with age. You may feel tempted to run out and buy a 4K/120Hz TV with HDMI 2.1 to take full advantage of the console’s peak capabilities, but even without one you’ll enjoy unbelievably fast load times and a gorgeous new UI. The PS5 caters to both primed and ready next-gen gamers and tepid PS4 owners looking to dip their toes into the future of gaming – and for the latter it’s a console that so seamlessly bridges the gap between the last generation and the next that you probably won’t need to boot up your PS4 ever again. From big upgrades like the super-fast NVMe SSD and powerful GPU that enable higher frame rates and ray tracing, to subtle touches like the built-in microphone on the controller that can serve as a quick stand-in for a headset, the PlayStation 5 feels like it was built for ease of use as well as pure power. We’ve yet to get our hands on the PS5 Digital Edition, which we may feel differently about, and we’ve yet to try out some of the PS5’s streaming apps and entertainment functionality, but if you’re still on the fence about buying the PS5, we can wholeheartedly recommend the console as a welcome upgrade over the PS4, and an exciting portal to next-gen gameplay. PlayStation 5 Price And Release Date The PS5 release date in North America, Australia, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand is November 12, 2020, which is just two days after the release of its next-gen rivals, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. For the rest of the world, the console becomes available one week later on November 19. In terms of the PS5 price, you’re looking at $499.99 / £449.99 / AU$749.95 for the standard version of the console with a 4K Blu-ray disc drive. However, if that’s more than you want to spend, there’s also the PS5 Digital Edition, which doesn’t have a disc drive, and which is available for $399.99 / £359.99 / AU$599.95. That’s more than the launch price of the PS4 and PS4 Pro, which both came in at $399.99, but they arrived seven and four years ago respectively now, and you’re getting a generational leap in hardware here for only a few hundred more. It’s still expensive, don’t get us wrong, but the jump in price does feel warranted for what you’re getting here. Sony isn’t the only console maker with new hardware on the block – you also have to consider the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S that are available at almost exactly the same time. Priced at $499 and $299 respectively, they each have their own separate reviews so we won’t spend much time talking about them here, but be sure to check out our PS5 vs Xbox Series X breakdown for more details about how the consoles stack up. PlayStation 5 Design If gaming consoles had weight classes, the PlayStation 5 would be in the heavyweight division. We measured it at around 38.8 x 8 x 26cm (H x W x D) – though the curved surfaces make getting an exact measurement difficult. And it weighs in at 4.5kg, giving it a noticeable heft when you pick it up. With those measurements in mind, it’s easy to see how the PlayStation 5 is the largest console Sony has ever made, and it teeters on the brink of being simply too big for a device that’s supposed to sit under your TV. Many will have to rethink their current setup or upgrade their entertainment centers entirely to accommodate Sony’s new machine, and that’s a problem that no one should have to worry about when picking up a new console. As for the colors and shape of the console, well, they can be kind of polarizing, too. Some of us on the team absolutely love the PS5 design, while some of us hate it. There’s no denying, however, that its gargantuan size and two-tone color scheme demands attention in any home. One element that’s a delightful touch, and universally liked by the TechRadar team, is the system’s subtle lighting effect, which creates a soothing hue when the console is in operation or rest mode. It adds to the PS5’s space-age look and feel, and represents a nice touch of continuity from the PS4. Much like the PS4, when the console is in rest mode the light turns orange, and when the PS5 is turned on it changes from blue to white. The Vivo Y30 is such an amazing phone. It feels Classic in every way, from the premium finish to the Hardware and features. It sports a 6.47 inch screen, a Mediatek processor and a 4GB of RAM. The features and premium design of the Vivo Y30 makes it hard to distinguish from its competition at same price point. This device packs triple rear camera setup arranged vertically on the rear panel. The picture quality on this device is mostly good but inconsistent. The Vivo Y30 is pretty great, but i feel like the company are not doing enough to capture the interest of most consumers aside its premium finish. This may be a big barrier to many, but for most people who want a budget phone, this will do the job. Vivo Y30 Price The Vivo Y30 has been available since May this year at a very affordable price of $197 – $262. This device is currently available in the south African and west African region, in countries like Nigeria and south Africa. The Vivo Y30 comes in Dazzle Blue, white, and black colours. Whether you go with the bold emerald black finish or the more ethereal moon white, this device certainly looks and feels like a quality product. Design The Vivo Y30 is a device with a premium design. It packs a 6.47 inch screen and one front camera located at the top left corner of the device. The Fingerprint sensor is located at the rear panel and it unlocks the device very fast. There are also three cameras and an LED flash light at the back of this device. The power and volume buttons are placed at the right side of the device. While the dual nano-SIM car and microSD card tray is at the left side of the device. At the bottom, you will find the speaker grille, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port. The Vivo Y30 at 197g weighs slightly heavier than most devices at this price tag. Display The Vivo Y30 packs a 6.47 inch, 19.5:9 ratio screen. A screen resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels and 266 ppi density. Despite not being a full HD screen, the Vivo Y30 display performance greatly among its competition. The Vivo Y30 display is fairly decent colour and gets really bright in day light just enough to help you operate your phone under day light. Camera The front camera is located at the top left corner of the screen. It is an 8MP (wide) single selfie camera. Selfies taken on this device looks pretty good but the image qualities are not consistent. At the back, there is a quad camera setup with an LED flash, 13MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth main camera. The video quality goes upto 1080 at 30fps for both the front and rear cameras. In the final analysis, only about half of the photos taken felt like acceptable results which feels low even for a budget phone. Performance The mediatek MT6765 processor present in the Vivo Y30 is similar to those used in Huawei phones at same price point. The processor and 4GB RAM on the Vivo Y30 makes this device run smoothly. Multitasking on this device is good and apps load with little delay when switching between apps. The Vivo Y30 is not a gaming phone, but it can be used to play casual games. Playing heavy games on this device is not really advised. However, some heavy games will work smoothly on this device, while others games may stutter a little bit while playing. The performance of this device is general okay and suitable for most consumers because of its price range. Battery Life The Y30 comes with a 5000mAh battery. The battery life of this device is about two days when performing general daily routines. However, playing games and watching movies will definitely cause a drastic drop in battery life. Should I Buy It Buy it if you: Want to make use of a brand new phone. Are not secured with your existing brand. Want a budget phone with decent performance. Need a device with decent display. Are not a game freak. very good Image quality is not really your concern when buying a phone. Love phones with premium and fashionable finish. The Final Verdict The Vivo Y30 is a well-built, stylish looking phone with little to fault it in terms of basic specifications. Unfortunately, it’s also quite forgettable with no single outstanding feature to motivate its purchase. In a segment of the market that is both very competitive and very price sensitive there’s no clear selling point for this phone, from CPU and RAM to cameras and screen, so most would do better to stick with brands they know which offer the same feature set, or maybe even something better. The Oppo Find X2 has the same ports and screen specs as the oneplus 8 pro, but has a high-gloss glass back finish different from the oneplus 8 pro. The phone comes with a screen protector, and a soft plastic case in its box, saving you extra cost. The find X2 packs a 6.7-inches AMOLED screen, 1440 X 3168 resolution. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and 800nit brightness as a result of the joint forces of DCI-P3 and HDR10+ credentials. The Oppo find X2’s 48mp main camera, laser auto focus, image stabilization, open f/1.7 lens, and phase detection makes the find X2 a very good camera phone. The Oppo find X2 can take good looking photos in day light. Compared with its competition, its 13mp 2x optical zoom 52mm telephoto camera, and a 12mp ultra-wide, the find X2 losses out from a resolution and zoom power footing. The 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage puts the find X2 top of the chain on both storage and multi-tasking. Though there is no microSD card slot, I doubt you will be left wanting with its 256GB of internal storage. However, the lack of a headphone jack might turn most music lovers away. Despite the Find X2’s high refresh rate and bright screen, it packs enough capacity with its 4200mAh battery to last a whole day. Also impressive is the Find X2’s 65W fast charger which delivers from zero to 100% battery life in just 38 minutes. Despite the specs of the Find X2, it doesn’t support wireless charging. Find X2 DESIGN Premium Gorilla glass and metal combination. High-gloss reflective finish. Large all-screen design. When it comes to styling, the Oppo Find X2 is more classic than the oneplus 8 pro. Though they pack same screen specs and ports, the Oppo Find X2 has a classier finish and a dimension of 164.9 X 74.5 X 8mm. On the front and back are Gorilla glass 6 and 5 respectively, with both sides curved for a comfortable in-hand feel and a tiny-bezel look. The Find X2 has its power button on the right side and volume buttons on the left side. On the bottom is a USB-C port and a slim slot with nothing at the top. Oppo Find X2 DISPLAY Find X2 DISPLAY AMOLED screen Technology. 120Hz refresh rate. 1440 X 3168 resolution (513 pixels per inch). It has a brightness that climbs up to 800nits and can get very dim for comfortable low-light viewing. Its 120Hz refresh rate puts it close to higher phones like the Samsung Galaxy S10e. Its refresh rate can be switched between 120Hz, 60Hz and auto. Auto switches between 60Hz, 90Hz and 120Hz depending on the app running. CAMERA Oppo Find X2 camera Oppo Find X2 camera Sony IMX586 48mp main sensor. 13mp 2x zoom telephoto camera. 12mp ultra-wide camera. Oppo Find X2 takes rich looking and sharp photos provided it focuses correctly when taking pictures. This is true for the primary and telephoto cameras. Video shot on the Find X2 looks very good, and is captured at up to 4K 60fps resolution. Oppo Find X2 SPECS Body: 164.9×74.5x8mm, 209g (Ceramic), 165.2×74.4×9.5mm, 192g (Glass); IP54 rating; Gorilla Glass 6 front. Battery: 4,200mAh, 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 fast charging support. Misc: Optical under-display fingerprint reader; NFC; Stereo loudspeakers. WHY SHOULD YOU BUY THE OPPO FIND X2? BUY IT IF You: Want a great screen at an affordable price. Want a phone with fast charging features. Are a gamer, because of its amazing screen and great sounding speakers.
