I need a Backend Developer for a project that I'm planning to build.

It is an untapped idea that could lead to a top startup.

I'm a Frontend developer and I already have a UI designer on my team.

Note: It's not paid but you will own a share of the startup.

Let’s check it out bro

I will post some review. I'm having issues with postman.
Returning some unfounded bugs but same API works well on thunderclient just that its limit is 50 APIs per collection.
Now i am trying Hoppscotch grin grin grin grin

But it’s so obvious that what you are trying to do in postman is wrong

You want to make post request and you are not passing any json response in body? It’s clear you chose None but you showed a correct input format for thunderclient

Then why are they not telling the truth about helping people to get job. They promised that they have links to undadvertised jobs. But everything is a lie. Once you qualify for room fellowship you will understand.

The thing is, if you wait for a “promised” job after finishing alx, you played throughout your stay in alx. This is because even before your learning journey ends, you must have been prepared for the outside world.

I know some current alx students who are yet to round up and have jobs already. Some when they finished. Some even commenced their startup.

I’m currently in my 9th month, I attended more than 4 interviews in last 2 months and a lot are on board.

So it’s basically not about the promise, it’s about build up to be an authority no matter what.

Programming / Re: Back-end Development Is So Boring And I Hate It. by atesunate16(m): 7:28pm On Nov 12, 2023
Devdevdev:
Please this is a serious thread and I'll appreciate responses.

I've been learning Front-End web development for 4 months now and I've made a lot of progress. Recently I tried to learn some back end with Nodejs, Express and MongoDB just to get some exposure, but I've realized it's not for me at all. Its so boring and I hate every bit of it. It literally puts me to sleep everytime.

I spend hours working on Front end projects and I enjoy every minute of it, but backend is like a chore.

Since it is apparent that frontend is my calling, can I possibly become a successful Front-End developer? Are there really opportunities for beginner frontend devs? I've been told that adding backend languages to your stack improves the possibility of you being hired, but it's clear I hate backend and would hate a job as a backend developer.

What's your advice for me?

Hi sis, it’s fine.

You’ve only spent 4 months right?

I believe there are still a lot to learn in Frontend

Stay there, learn thoroughly, become an authority. Gigs and jobs will be after you

You don’t need to dive into Backend for now

Just understand the frontend very well, understand how to integrate APIs

By the time you are done with this, when you dive into Backend you’ll understand how sweet it is

Personally, I’m comfortable with Backend than Frontend

ChatGPT/AI is a tool to help increase your productivity.

You even need some level of knowledge to be able to utilize it to the maximum.

Nothing bad in using it.

It’s just like making it compulsory for your accountants to use their head for calculations or use physical calculators and then type the answers. It will reduce productivity

AI is advancing, anyone who don’t utilize it will be kicked out by those who do.

The base line is that, understand the code. Don’t copy blindly

I also spoke about it and I was badly criticized..

You don’t train thousand of people within a short space of time without any plan to give them a job..

ALX use dem cash out..

It’s was all for the money..

Secondly their program can’t train solid programmers.. Programming is not learnt that way..

The whole tech noise has died down..

Are you a graduate of alx?

If yes, you wasted your 1 year doing nothing

If no, you know nothing

Hello people!
I'm Daniel from alx 13 and I love doing hard things.
I just want to ask if there's anyone interested in learning DSA here. - it's been a futile effort finding someone truly dedicated.

If you are that person and you are ready to study DSA like your life depends on it, Kindly connect with me. Let's be each other's accountability partners for when things get inevitably hard.

Must be in cohort 13 or deferred to higher cohorts.
Thanks!

Programming / Re: API For Name Of Places In Nigeria Organized Into States, lgas, locations & Streets by atesunate16(m): 10:39pm On Jun 24, 2023
belovedsamex:
There is an opportunity for interested persons to contribute to the project. The area of opportunity lies in providing more names of places. So far, the project database has a complete names of STATES AND THEIR CAPITALS, ALL LGAs in Nigeria. But names of Locations (major landmarks) and Streets within each LGA have not been exhausted. In fact, if you query our data, you might realize that the name of your current location is not yet listed, or perhaps names of some streets that you know have not been listed. You could contribute to this project by sending me a mail with the names of the places you want me to add to our database. You will be listed on our landing page and also our Github repository as a contributor to this project.

The format for sending your email is as follows:
If you want to send me names of locations that you know, you will present your data in the format below:
state: e.g Lagos
LGA: e.g Ikeja
Locations: location 1, location 2, location 3 .....location n.

If you want to send me names of Streets that you know, you will present your data in the format below:
state: e.g Lagos
LGA: e.g Alimosho
Locations: e.g Ikotun
Streets: e.g. Street 1, Street 2, Street 3, .... Street n

Send your message to zinando2000@gmail.com
Include a link to your social handle we could reference when acknowledging your contribution.

Great project boss

Is there a way we can contribute directly into the project on github without you going through the stress of manual adding up. You accept pull request verify the addition then pull together.

It will be seamless, real time for both contributors like us and you
