Can you imagine how many other items the guy would have stolen? He should be handed over to the EFCC, dismissed and sent to jail.
Trust Nigeria, he will be given a soft landing!!!

Since MTN stopped double data on my sim I decided to look for an alternative. Oh how I miss MTN 4g.. incredibly fast and I use to get 20gb with 5k, 44gb with 10k which I normally finish in 3 weeks but the speed is insane.

anyway I remembered I still had an ntel sim with my unlocked modem... I threw it away when the speed was unbearable. luckily i found it after thorough searching, subscribed for the 2 days plan and was impressed at impproved speed. So decided to do the 1 month unlimited plan for 12,500. Its been 2 weeks now and I'm impressed. It serves my whole house, about 7 devices and there ha been no complains. Speed is not as good as MTN 4g but still decent. At least I was able to update my battlefield 1 for ps4 which is around 7gb. I started downloading by 1am and by the time I woke up around 7am download was already complete. I have not experienced any throttling either, streaming youtube at 480p is breeze, minimum lag at 720p (at night no lag). I think Ntel have improved at least in my area, I get just 2 network bars but download speed is around 4-7mbps during the day with ping of around 100ms, but from midnight speed improves to around 15mbps with ping of around 30ms. I have used 61.5gb in 2 weeks and still going. Speed is not as good as MTN 4g but I must say it gets the job done, now I don't have t worry about downloading or streaming.

Phones / Re: Anyone Using Ntel On Huawei E5180 4G LTE Cube? by Ativ: 6:51pm On May 28, 2017

It detects the ntel network but doesn't browse. I've tried using ntel and vox as apn but no success.

In settings, if I use static apn option, the modem keeps connecting and disconnecting; while using dynamic apn, the modem stays connected. But still, it doesn't browse.

I've also tried it on my iPhone and Lumia devices and it's still the same thing.

May I also state here that I've been using this same sim on my lumia before and it was working fine
I have contacted ntel severally and they keep saying from their checks there's nothing wrong with my line

It seems the problem is with your line. I think your best bet is to get a replacement sim. Ntel usually works with default settings without needing to input the APN.

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to setup my Huawei 4G LTE cube but it doesn't work. I've used ntel as apn using static apn. I've also tried using dynamic apn but it still doesn't work. I've contacted their support but they haven't been helpful in anyway. I have an active subscription that has been wasting for days.

Please if you are successfully using ntel on your Huawei 4G LTE Cube, please let me know how u set it up

Does the Modem detect the NTEL network? Is the problem simply that the modem does not connect to the detected network?

Let's hope that, by now, ntel gets the message that it's not only about the poor throughput/speed, it's also about how its data packages have been recently structured and delivered.

For instance, throttling a supposedly (and already miserly for LTE data service in this era) 10 Mb/s, or ~1.2 MB/s, which is 1,220 KB/s daytime delivery, to a clearly pathetic 64 KB/s after 3 GB or during night time - even where night time is deemed free time - is grossly unusable, at least during night time, and therefore unacceptable.

In addition, the network has often fallen into several other embarrassing "sins," for which it has largely atoned nada.

Well, yours truly is still watching as well...

How is Spectranet in the Lekki axis? Afraid to buy a data plan because my line has been dormant for several months and has been disconnected.
So, I don't know how good the reception in my place is.

Personally still hunting for a 4G router with wifi capability and LAN ports, and the 4G bands must cover all our network bands.
I wish myself luck in my hunt because I'm yet to come across any undecided

NTEL ZTE MF286 router is capable of all LTE bands in Nigeria, has LAN ports and dual band WiFi. However, it is pricey at ₦45,000.

So far, I've come to realize that paid IPTV will give you that desired user experience especially as it relates to Live TV. Using them for videos on demand will work well though.

And so, for the next three (3) months, I'll be using one I just paid for which I feel is the best I have tried in terms of reliability and pricing.
Which one?

@NtelAssist, What is the daily fair usage on the NTEL N12,500 monthly plan? 3GB or 3Gb?
My line was throttled almost all the time without any substantial downloads. I hardly used more than 500MB per day.

You can still renew your subscription at the old data rates. The new rates have not been activated/implemented.
Just bought the 48GB for ₦8,000 plan.

You have to try out an Amazon Fire TV Box. It's sleek, has wifi, Ethernet, microSD and USB ports.

What I like most about it is its remote control- Bluetooth or wifi controlled. You can point it in any direction Unlike most IR remote controls.
It has a simple uncluttered interface with dedicated media control buttons- play/pause, fast forward and rewind buttons.

What's NTEL's data cap?

3gb equivalent to 300MB or 3GB=3,000MB?

@ Ativ

This is what I got when I did a network scan on Ntel's router.

I also know you can create new APN profiles on it.

Make of that what you will.

I cannot confirm if any network works with it if I haven't used their sim with it.

EOD

Thanks a million.

Please, what additional features does the router have? For example, QoS, locking of ip addresses etc?
