You mean Peter Obi finally conducted elections when it remained 2months to exit his 8year tenure?

When he already had an elected successor (Obiano) waiting to be sworn in as Governor?

Peter Obi is a bloody charlatan.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi Conducted The First LG Elections in Anambra Since 1999 (pic) by Atuero(m): 8:58am On Jul 12, 2024
helinues:
Peter Obi only conducted LG election in one year out of 8 years.

Even the only time he conducted the LG election, it was forced by court order as Peter Obi wasn't interested in conducting one .

Meaning Peter Obi would have been against LG autonomy
Tinubu also conducted once in 8yrs despite the fact that many of his colleagues in other states conducted their second one in year 2007, what can u say about that?

Politics › Re: States Records Of Election Into Local Govt Council Since 1999 by Atuero(m): 8:34am On Jul 12, 2024
Mynd44:
Peter Obi and Tinubu's tenure as governors can be equated according to LG elections.

Reason: when the 1999 class of governors, NASS And president were sworn in, theu were sworn in with LG chairmen because INEC was the one who conducted the election alongside the general election. So every state had LG election.

After their tenure, Lagos state and a few states then proceeded to replace continue hence only one LG election could have been held under the 8-year tenure of the governors of the 1999 class.

As for Peter Obi, LG elections in Anambra while he was governor should have been 2. Be he delayed it until January 2014. According to him it was because of litigations that could not be settled for 10 years.

It should also be noted that Obiano won the gubernatorial election in November 2013 meaning Peter Obi held election after election and it was more or less him imposing these chairmen on the next government as he could have simply thunder over and allow the incoming governor handle it.

Peter Obi didn't work with democratically elected LG chairmen. Even the once elected while he was governor were there for just two months
What happened to the Governors that conducted election in 2007? Were they not Tinubu class of 1999 Governors? Those ones were able to conduct twice before the expiration of their tenure, you are only appealing to our emotions

Did you observe from the table that Anambra was the only state that did not conduct elections with other in 2004?.....it has shown that OBI was the first Anambra Governor to have conducted Local Government elections after 14yrs and 2 predecessors.....that's a feat
This is a practical explanation that something was wrong with the state and it took OBI to correct it.

Finally, has there been anything election at the LG level in Nigeria? It is all charades of formalities to select their stooges
Now that Tinubu through Supreme Court is trying to empower the LGA, let's see how it goes because LG elections in Nigeria is a mere avenue to siphon our patrimony

Kudos to Enugu state for have 5 LG selection (elections) same with kano

Watch the video .

She was being questioned on how she accounted for #1.5mil per month for one vehicle .

The money she must have appropriated to fueling her convoy would have been at that same rate.

So if she has 4 cars in her convoy , she will be retiring #6 mil per month to fuel her convoy.

Go and watch the opening segment and see where the first Rep committee member was asking her how she spent #1.5 million to fuel one car.
That's ridiculous, I thought it is for the whole convoy

Ayemileto:
I'm a first time maize farmer, and my maize farm is finally ready for Harvesting. Someone brought in some market women to harvest and buy today.

The rate at which this women purchased is so ridiculous that if I continue selling like this, I won't make what I spent on the project back, not to talk of profit.

It was actually painful because I didn't discuss price with them before they started harvesting, as I assumed the person who brought them already did the discussion, only for this women to come up with a ridiculous rate after harvesting. They claim there's now excess maize in the market.

Another buyer someone called for me offer even worse prices.

It appears they have a maize seller association, where they fix their buying prices.

I'm currently considering harvesting and taking to the market myself, because I'm sure I should be able to sell at X2 of their buying prices (their buying prices is currently between 40 - 55 Naira per Maize on Average, and I think I should be able to sell at 100 - 120 Naira per Maize at the market)

I can't leave the maize to dry because of the rate of rainfall we're currently experiencing.

Any Clue from experienced farmers?
In Enugu state, it is 7 for 2k
Politics › 21 States Run Local Govt Areas With Caretaker Committees by Atuero(op): 8:23pm On Jul 11, 2024
21 states run local govt areas with caretaker committees

CHUKWUDI AKASIKE and DEBORAH TOLU-KOLAWOLE

No fewer than 21 states in the country are currently without duly elected local government councils.

These states are running the affairs of local government councils with caretaker committees appointed by state governors, an investigation by Sunday PUNCH has revealed.

This is against the provisions of Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution which guarantees the operation of local government by democratically elected officials.

There are 774 local government areas in the country, but the efficiency of the third tier of government has been hampered by the actions of some governors who have been accused of mismanaging funds meant for the administration of local governments.

In the last few months, calls for local government autonomy have increased in Nigeria. President Bola Tinubu has also supported these calls. In May, the Federal Government approached the Supreme Court with a suit seeking to compel governors of the 36 states to grant full autonomy to the local governments in their domains.

Currently, the Federal Government receives 52.68 per cent, states receive 26.72 per cent, and LGs receive 20.60 per cent of the country’s monthly revenue allocated by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, which is domiciled under the Presidency, and is disbursed by the Federation Account Allocation Committee.

LG funds are paid into a joint account operated by state governments and local governments in their domains.

The affected states are as follows

Anambra
Kwara
Jigawa
Rivers
Imo
Zamfara
BENUE
Abia,
Enugu,
Katsina,
Kano,
Sokoto,
Yobe,
Ondo,
Osun,
Delta,
Akwa-Ibom

However, without INEC conducting the election, the Governors will still have upper hands over the LG chairmen as they will be handpicked by them and may even go as far making them to swear an oath before endorsement

Kudos to the Supreme Court for this landmark judgement. Only rogue governors and former governors will be against the judgement. Local Government should not to tied to the apron spring of the governors. We've seen how rogue governors like Peter Obi ruled for 8 years without conducting local government election. They collect every single kobo belonging to the LGAs and then set up a useless transition committee that are un-elected and then give them peanut to operate. Any one that is against this judgement is an enemy of Nigeria.

Kudos to the AGF and Mr. President for this.
