Actually that is not true

I may be wrong though.....but from experience in my last applications (September for myself and December for my Dependants), I used my personal bank accounts which had retained cash balances of over 2 years. Infact, one of the bank statements (TSB) I submitted along with my application showed balances from 2012, while the other (Access) showed balances of about 4 months or there about.

Personally (my opinion though) I feel presenting statements of more than the stipulated 28 day period, gives more credence and validity to your proof of funds. That is not to say I am encouraging friends here to present statements of more than 1 month because it may be too bulky and irrelevant. Mine was just a page because I didn't really had transactions on the account for that time frame (2012-2016), so the account statement was just a page.

Isn't its at least 28days not 28days at most? Im only asking to know if it would work to my advantage if the bank statement reveals that the money has been in my account for a longer period and it wasn't put in the account just before applying for a visa.

It can be in your account for as long as you wish (but not less than 28 days) provided it doesn't at anytime fall below the required amount stipulated by UKVI.

Thanks man. I have decided to call the guy in charge of the admission office on Monday to explain everything to him cos my sis is quite down and angry too and she is at her worse state to make the right call.

Well said.....I think it's good you call them to explain and probably get more information from them as well as clarify all that needs to be resolved. But bear in mind they may not give you all the attention and necessary information as they would your sister (cos of data protection and 3rd party). If that happens your just have to console her n put her in d right state of mind to clear it out with them.

She didn't apply for it and certainly have no idea about the reasons for the refusal. If she had then she still will be using the old passport and not bothered going to the HQs then for a new one. The school told her that UKVI told them about all her immigration details but not why the visitor visa on the old passport was not granted ie no details about the old passport from UKVI was provided.
justwise:

The question here is: Did your sister apply for visiting visa with the old passport and was refused? If yes, what was the reason(s) for the refusal

Bourne007:
It's really strange they are questioning her visiting visa. Usually they check for academic progression and/or if you are currently living in UK and what the current visa status is. Except she's been banned by ukvi but again you said she didn't apply for a visiting visa.

Since you said the passport was missing/stolen, I suspect someone else must have used it to apply for a UK visa (people can do anything these days) and got denied. Probably this must have happened before she went for a new one or again it's also very possible that it was not properly cancelled before the office in Abj. issued a new one. (I have a friend who is currently in Germany, at the point of renewing his Nigerian passport in Germany, it was then he found out that records of his old passport he thought was cancelled without prejudice back in Nigeria was still in the system).

That's why I asked initially if there was a police report to back up the theft claim. But I think you should go to the passport office also to seek more clarification.

Good morning house. Please I need advice on this:

In 2008, my youngest sis was issued a passport in Benin City, Nigeria as she intend applying for a study in the UK. Then the passport was misplaced/stolen and she had to go do another passport of which she was told to go to the HQs in Abuja. She went and a new passport was issued at the HQs Abuja with the issuing officer telling her not to worry about the old passport. She then applied for a UK study visa in 2009 with the new passport and was issued a 4 years study visa. She completed her studies in 2013 and returned home for her NYSC. This year, 2016 she applied for her MSC in Scotland and was offered admission. School fees paid, account statement sent to the school and she's waiting for her CAS to be provided by the school. Her studies begins Jan 19, 2017.
Now the worrying part: One week after her CAS preview letter was sent to her to confirm all details was correct and she did confirmed, hoping to receive her CAS this week, she receive a mail from the school telling her that she had a visitor refusal visa on her old passport (the misplaced/stolen) and she should contact UKVI to provide more details on the refusal as the details the UKVI provided to them (school) is insufficient. Going through UKVI site I noticed that you have to send a form to their office in the UK and emails are not allowed, thus taking more time to send and also days in replying. Note: she has barely one month before her studies and this is happening.
Please I need help on what she should do next.

Ps: she had sent a mail informing the school about the old passport and how she had canceled it at the HQs before applying for a visa which was granted.

HELP PLEASE

Cc: Justwise

Did she make any police report in 2008, when the passport was stolen? If yes, I think you should start from the HQ in Abj, get them to give you a clearance that the passport was actually stolen and cancelled without prejudice. Then contact UKVI with the police report and clearance letter from immigration HQ.

That's my opinion..... anyone else can share his/her thoughts.

After exactly 30 days of submission of Tier 4 dependant visa, my wife got her visa today.

Vignette expires on 30th December 2016.
Thought the Vignette will stay till around mid-January cos ticket is expensive now.

Any idea of where I can get cheap tickets to Manchester

It means decision was taken 30th November, just that she didn't receive the Visa on time. I guess it's a new trend now by either VO's in Sheffield or TLS to dispatch and send decision mails weeks after decision has been taken on one's application.

All the same, a big CONGRATS.

Check KLM's website. As at this morning, I saw USD869.00 for 25th Dec. you can set return say 12th March. Also check Lufthansa.

**Changes to the maintenance requirement for Tier 4 dependants** Laws just keep changing 'sighs' .. Na only non-EU dem fit chance shaa grin

In the past, dependants had to show £845 (inside London) or £680 (outside London) for each month of the student’s course, up to a maximum of 9 months (£7605/£6120). For applications made from 24 November 2016, dependants have to show that they have £680 per month they will be granted a visa for, up to a maximum of 9 months (£7605/£6120).

Has anyone recently applied for a Tier 4 dependant visa on or after 24th November and only got 9/10 months visa rather than the duration of course?

Can you share the link you got this info please?

Good morning everyone, I will be going to U.K. For my masters in January....I just discovered I'm pregnant...please is it going to affect my visa application?....thanks

As a foreign student you are allowed to give birth in the UK free but you need to prepare for cost of child care

And just to add, new rule states that the pregnancy or child delivery should not in anyway affect your studies......else you will be expected to take a break and go back to your home country until you're fully prepared and and able to continue with your studies.

Hello guys.
I'll be grateful if you help me. I applied for uk tier 4 visa and submitted an affidavit of financial support from my father however i didn't write date on it. And in the requirement to provide birth certificate, i provided a family Registration certificate. Is that acceptable or not? As my birth certificate was hand written.

Since you've already submitted, my advice to you is just to pray and hope for the best. There's nothing anyone will say to you here now that will change the outcome of your application. But just know there's been a lot of pple who have made even worse mistakes (although I don't even see anything wrong in what you have said. It can easily be overlooked by the VO) in the past and were still successful in their application. So it's better for you to remain hopeful and stop raising your BP unnecessarily.

Hi guys, what does it mean when they say they've sent your BRP to your school?basically, what's a BRP?

Please was this information about BRP being sent to your school included in your decision mail or it was sent separately?

Good day Dankollins, Solomonwis and other colleagues in the house.

Please see the attached link: http://novascotiaimmigration.com/move-here/application-forms/#express-entry

NSNP has it on their website under steps 1 and 2 that candidates should also apply to CIC directly and include copies of that application in the NSNP application.

I'm kind of confused here since all applications to CIC must first go through the EE process, will they still allow paper applications as mandated by NSNP?

Hi everyone in the house and wishing us all a very happy and prosperous new year... please before I go straight to the point, I need all the genuine prayer warriors in the house to help me out. My application was successfully delivered and signed for by MK as shown via tracking report. But the ish is that it was delivered on 02/01/15 probably due to delay by d courier company.

I'm believing God to take control.

Good morning house....

I noticed that the generic application form IMM 008ENU_2D form has a unique code on it when printed. in other words, the set of pages must be sent to the printer once for all pages to have the same unique code.

My question is: if it is wise to submit a set of the IMM008ENU_2D (generic application) form printed at different times? since the pages will have different codes when printed separately.

Why I am asking is that I need to make a correction in one of the pages and it won't be convenient for me to print a pages altogether. But for the codes, I'm a bit worried. Pls house, I need urgent advise.
