Dear Seun,

Some of us on this forum have noticed how your mods keep bringing topics denigrating Christian faith to front page on Sundays instead of Bible topics or Preaching topics every Sunday. However, when it is Friday, you all promote Islamic topics solely describing Taoheed, Multiple wife marriage, Islamic ruling on every thing you feel is areas of life etc. Infact, you are asked to make vows about Islamic faith before commenting on such topics I am not against this, but what is good for Islam should also be applicable to Christian faith. I understand Seun Osewa may be a non Christian but you should use your platform in such a way to promote balanced view of both faiths (Unless you have been paid to promote Islam in Nigeria).
Today, a topic talking about a Pastor performing fake miracles was pushed to front page whereas you will never see a topic where an islamic cleric was molesting a quoranic school kid promoted on Friday to your front page(This is a usual occurrence and also widely reported here on Nairaland). There are Islamic Clerics arrested for money ritual cases by police but such things are not pushed to from page on Friday.

I hereby call on you Seun to take note of this complain as some of us take our faith serious and will not look until you use this platform to turn Nigeria to place like Yemen. Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq etc which were initially Christian nations but their complicity eroded the faith and their culture from the face of the earth. This is the same thing that Nairaland is not being used as a weapon to achived.

I will implore you to call your mods into order on this, I do not want to sound a warning for now as I believe you are a rational individual capable of doing the right thing. We will watch this for the next 3 Sundays and see of there is any changes before taking next line of action. You should know a court case claiming that your platform is being used to defame a faith is an option for us. I understand what is being posted on your platform is not your responsibility, but what is being posted on your front page is your responsibility.

I will request you to stop this trend to avoid unnecessary issues for your platform

When Zayd complained to him (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) he said to him: “Keep your wife and fear Allaah.” Allaah rebuked him for saying “Keep your wife” after he knew that she was to become his own wife, for fear that if he disclosed what he knew about her becoming his wife, the people would say that he wanted to marry his son’s wife at the time when she was still married to Zayd.

Two things point to that:

The first is what we have mentioned above, that Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, said: “But you did hide in yourself that which Allaah will make manifest”. This is what Allaah had disclosed to him, which is that He was giving her to him in marriage, when He said: “So when Zayd had accomplished his desire from her (i.e. divorced her), We gave her to you in marriage”. Allaah did not disclose anything of that which they claim, namely that he loved her. If that had been what was meant, then Allaah would have disclosed it as you see.

The second point is that Allaah, may He be glorified and exalted, clearly stated that He was the One Who gave her to him in marriage, and that the divine wisdom behind this marriage was to put an end to the prohibition on marrying the wives of adopted sons, as He says, “So when Zayd had accomplished his desire from her (i.e. divorced her), We gave her to you in marriage, so that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the believers in respect of (the marriage of) the wives of their adopted sons”. The phrase “so that (in future) there may be no difficulty to the believers” clearly explains the reason behind this marriage, as we have said. The fact that Allaah is the One Who gave her to him in marriage for this important purpose clearly shows that the reason why he married her was not because he loved her and that is why Zayd divorced her – as they claim. It is explained by the words of Allaah, “So when Zayd had accomplished his desire from her…” because it indicates that Zayd had accomplished his desire from her, and no longer had any interest in her, so he divorced her by his own choice, and Allaah knows all things.
