The AWD System in your Lexus, Honda etc is not the same with the 4matic in Benz

The All Wheel Drive System is dependent on a fully functional Systems in the car

So if the Check Engine Light pops up showing malfunctioning Oxygen Sensor or the ABS wheel speed sensor is bad

The AWD System will automatically be disabled

Toyota did it that way so you can fix those emission issues as soon as possible

So before you follow that 4matic ML350 to ply a very bad road, please check your dashboard and ensure no Check Engine, Check ABS and Check AWD on dashboard unless you’re ready to push the car

Mercedes Benz 4matic features a permanent non electronic Four Wheel Drive System unlike the AWD in your Lexus
