THERE was confusion Saturday at the Benin Airport and in what seems to be a serious security breach on a local flight, as a teenage boy stowed away allegedly in the tyre hold of an Arik Aircraft from Benin to Lagos.

The Aircraft with registration number, 5N-MJG Flight 44, left Benin Airport at 9am for Lagos. Top officials of the Edo state government were on board the airline. Passengers aboard the airline were shocked when security agents found the teenager at the Lagos Airport after the aircraft landed.

Though none of the officials at the Benin Airport agreed to comment on the issue, but  Vanguard observed that the teenager whose name is yet to be ascertained may have entered the airport through the Akenzua road axis due to lack of perimeter fencing at the Airport.

When the news went round on Sunday. 18th August, 2013 of the death of Pastor Elijah Iretiola Ajanaku, many did not believe it. And in fact, up till now, his followers at the church he founded, the Christ Victory Chapel International, are still living in the illusion that he would wake up.

However investigation by thegazellenews.com revealed that indeed Pastor Ajanaku breathed his last at his country home at Gbongan on Saturday evening after an undisclosed illness. His corpse was taken to his residence at 9, Folarin Williams Close, Ikola Odunsi in Agbado Oke-odo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos on Sunday morning.Since then, disbelieving church members have turned the house into a Mecca leading to the family instructing members to stop coming.

There have been many controversies surrounding the death of the controversial cleric. Some of his church members actually believe he cannot die. “Please prepare breakfast for the man to eat when he wakes up,” was the comment of a church on Monday morning when thegazellenews.com visited his residence. As at the time of writing this report, his followers are waiting for his resurrection.

However many never knew the kind of life, the controversial pastor lived before his death. When thegazellenews.com reported exclusively on Wednesday that Oro worshippers held a funeral rite for him, many were surprised and not a few raised eyebrow at our story. This medium has one into research to dig further into the background of the controversial cleric.

For those who were close to him during his pastoral days, Ajanaku’s claim to popularity was the fact that he was pastor and spiritual father of popular Gospel singer, Tope Alabi before they parted ways early this year.

Before the bubble burst, Tope Alabi, always sing the praise of Ajanaku at every given opportunity and there have been several occasions when she would literally roll on the ground before the controversial pastor.

However, early this year, things fell apart between them and the centre was not able to hold between them again. A messy media war ensued with Ajanaku accusing the Gospel singer of demanding for sex from him while the singer through her husband denied the allegation noting that they incurred the wrath of the pastor because they stopped attending his church.

Ironically, the singer was one of the early callers at his residence on Sunday when news of his death came out.

For those who know him and associated with him before he became a wealthy pastor, Ajanaku became wealthy suddenly between six and seven years ago.

Before then, those who know him very well said he lived at Ikola Ilumo and Ikola Odunsi, two close communities in Agbado Okeodo LCDA.

During this time, he was doing menial jobs to survive. “He started as a bus conductor with one of the popular drivers plying the Ikola-Iyana Ipaja route in the area.
