2004 Toyota Sequoia: Persistent Blinking Amber 4WD Light After Underbody Damage

Good evening, everyone. Please, I need advice from experienced Toyota Sequoia owners or mechanics regarding an issue with my 2004 Sequoia 4WD.

Two days ago, the vehicle got stuck in water. I engaged the 4WD to try to get out, but a large piece of wood was lodged underneath the vehicle. The incident damaged both sumps and also affected the front axle.

Since then, whenever I start the engine, the 4WD indicator comes on. When I switch the 4WD off, that indicator goes off, but the amber light in the centre of the four-wheel diagram keeps blinking continuously.

The damaged front axle was replaced today, but the blinking amber light is still there.

What could be causing this, and what specific checks should the mechanic carry out? Could it be related to the damage underneath the vehicle, the 4WD mechanism, or an electrical connection?

Also, is it safe to drive the vehicle in this condition?

I would appreciate your advice and recommendations. Thank you.
