I don't even know. Canada can be very unpredictable.

Does that mean that there won’t be category based draw for people in other categories for the rest of 2024? Since they haven’t even been calling other categories sef

Though I have landed in Canada this week, my conscience would not be clear if I dont come back here to give thanks.

I started this whole process and finished it with this thread. Silent Reader. But every information, trick and turn I got it from this thread and its references. Everything I used from beginning to the end I got from this thread and its earlier versions.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread.

I started everythign in 2023. My wife and I did IELTS, evaluated our WES and got into the pool.

The day we entered the pool, next day I recieved the 'important update to your account mail'.

I used the Agric Pathway. Agri-Food Pilot. My NOC was 82030.

my timeline was:

EE Profile Created: May 2023 (whilst waiting for my Wes evaluation)
ITA: September 28th 2023
AOR: Nov 18 2023
Biometrics and Medical Request: Jan 25,2024
Biometrics and Medicals Done and Passed: Jan 28th 2024
PPR Mail: March 13th 2024
Number of days from AOR to ppr: 115 days

Na that Passport submission show me shege as they told me they lost our passport photographs and I had to resend to Ghana, I resent to Ghana finish with UPS , they said no I should have sent to their office in Lagos for them to resend to Ghana on our behalf, I resent to the office in Lagos and the whole process then moved on, after we got the passports back in Nigeria and were happy...they called from the Ghana office that they have our passports photograps and what should they do with it.

Person wey don win battle no dey vex. I took it all in my stride.

grin 💃🏽 💃🏽 grin

Note: I landed this late in Canada after recieving the passports back because we decided to take our time in Nigeria to prepare before travelling. We were doing moderately okay so no pressures. I had bought the flight tickets since March when we got the PPR.

Please read and read this thread. Your own turn too go come !

Hi

First step is to calculate ur score via the crs tool. Use this link: https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Second step is to take the IELTS Exam and make sure u get a minimum of Listening: 8; Reading: 7; Writing: 7; Speaking 7.5 (i will advise you to aim higher, cos the higher ur IELTS test, the higher ur points for language)

Third step is to get ur highest degree evaluated via WES (preferably masters). You can do this while preparing for ur IELTS exam. The link to WES Canada is https://applications.wes.org/createaccount
Your University will be the one to upload your results via WES. So u shouldn't bother yourself. It is only wen u start the process that u understand it

Fourth step is to create an express entry profile and enter the pool with the NOC of your choice. The link to registering of an account via canada immigration website is https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/account.html

Nomination via PNP is only applicable to u if u av a sibling residing in that particular province for over a year and that province offers sibling nomination. Provinces like Alberta, Manitoba & Saskatchewan offer sibling nomination but you  need to go to their various websites for further research.
You can explore the ongoing category draws. There are six categories which are: STEM (this is applicable to u), Agriculture,  Transportation, French, Trade and Healthcare. You just need to have had work experience in the last three years for either of these categories and enter the pool with their NOC (For example if you have worked as a Transportation manager in the last 3yrs, u can go into the pool with NOC number 70020 for work experience and make sure that you can get a reference letter/payslip to backup ur claim after u av received an ITA)
You can use this link to track all the draws done and their last CRS score and compare with yours, so you know where you stand, or which category draw to go for. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html#wb-auto-4

There is no telling on when you will get an ITA or the exact timeframe to get ur PR afrer ITA cos Canada is not predictable.  So instead of worrying about all that, start with baby steps by getting ur WES/IELTS and entering the pool.

Leave the rest to God.

There is going to be an announcement next month on the various categories/number of people Canada wants to welcome next year. So u can be preparing for ur IELTS while you await the new update

Finally just got PPR on Friday, it's been almost 2 years since I first entered the pool. I have been on this thread for a while, never post but have been learning from you all. Hence, I feel the need to post my timeline, maybe some one may learn from it.

This is my timeline below, I can't remember exact days mostly because of the time it has taken to get here and I'm honestly too lazy to check.

I created my first EE profile September 17th 2022, soon after started studying french and looking for a tutor.

I was 30 with an MSc so my CRS score was 476, after turning 31in 2023 it dropped down to 470. As hard as I tried I couldn't learn French properly but still wrote TCF like that and my score only got boosted by 6 or 8 points (can't remember again), but I didn't realise how important those points will be.

I created NOI for Saskatchewan province sometime in February 2023 and in May I got invitation to apply for SINP and applied in July 2023.

I waited ooohhh for Saskatchewan dem no answer, even had to create a new EE profile as the first one expired. Then around mid December 2023 Ontario did tech draw and picked me from the pool. Those small points I got from TCF were my saving grace, I think the OINP tech stream cut off was about 473 and without the small points TCF gave me I would have been 470 and missed out. Please, don't sleep on French, I'm horrible with languages, can't even speak my own language and yet managed to get small points from TCF.

Applied for Ontario in January and got nominated first week in March. Between the time I had applied to Saskatchewan in July 2023 and when I got nominated by Ontario in March 2024 my profile in SINP was still on "Application Received" status. Very annoying province, as Ontario nomination came through I emailed them to withdraw my application but dem no refund me.

Received ITA mid-March (about a week after Ontario nomination)
AOR - May 11th
Medicals passed - June 26th
Biometrics completed - July 5th
PPR - September 6th

It can be slow and painful, but God will do it for everyone who has put in the work and put their faith in Him.

I would inform my friend to commence the process as soon as possible cause from your response I could tell that one could spend as much as two years in the pool without getting an ITA. Well, like you advised the most important thing is to commence the application.

Once again, thank you.

Good morning house, I want to appreciate the gurus in the house for their dedication in responding to enquiries of the people.

Please, I’m a first timer here and I can see that the thread has already gotten to part 11, scrolling back to get information my seem tedious. (apologies to those who might find this offensive)

Please, a friend of mine is really interested and wants to commence application for the Canadian express entry. Can someone put me through on the following;
1. The necessary documents needed to commence the application.
2. The exact website to commence registration
3. Does one need to get nominated by a province to get the PR?
4. What steps to get the ITA?
5. After application, how long does it take to get an ITA?
5. I know there’s a need for Wes verification. After the verification, where can one upload the result?

I would be most grateful if someone take out their time to respond to my enquiries.

It shall end in praise.

Goodevening to u too,

When u create an express entry profile, and later on u decide to make some adjustments, for example maybe you took a second IELTS test and decide to update ur scores by imputing ur new scores obtained,
after changing the scores, there will be two options outlined to choose from. One will be to save & exit while the other will be to continue, after which you need to impute your name as signature and submit.

The essence of this, is more like a declaration that you are the one making changes to ur profile. So my mistake then was that i saved and exited instead of to sign and submit. So when u save and exit ur application will be in PENDING instead of SUBMITTED. So even if they do draw and u qualify u won't be picked cos of ur pending profile.
SurvTessy:
Good evening! Please what exactly do you mean by transmit? I'm yet to create a profile. Thank you for your response.

Hi

First step is to calculate ur score via the crs tool (use this link): https://ircc.canada.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Fourth step is to create an express entry profile and enter the pool with the NOC for software developers.

You are lucky that you qualify under STEM. It's part of the ongoing category draw announced last year. However, u av to calculate ur points to be sure u meet the last cutoff. You can also use this link to check the cuttoff of all draws done for stem and also the occupations that fall under STEM. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/mandate/policies-operational-instructions-agreements/ministerial-instructions/express-entry-rounds.html#wb-auto-4

Some provinces like Ontario and British Colombia also conducts draws for tech, so try and get ur WES/IELTS and enter the pool without delay.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by aworhmabel: 2:04pm On Jul 16, 2024
Heya,

Ooh ok. 470 isn't bad for the category draws, especially in respect to transport and Agriculture..
If you've not worked in either of the sectors or not able to get references from both, you shouldn't give up.
Just stay in the pool. Maybe in the coming months, new categories will be introduced. I heard they might introduce some soon, not sure when.

Canada is really unpredictable so don't give up.
Funky123:
Thank you

My spouse siblings are citizens in Canada, we have about 470 crs score. We don’t have anyone in Manitoba.
I don’t understand what you mean by the trending category as we don’t qualify for them.

Heya,

Yea, you will get an email stating that you have a message and you should log into your profile.

But I've read some cases here when people didn't get emails but got their ITAs when they logged into their express entry profile.

So to be on the safe side, always check ur profile just to be sure instead of waiting for an email.
Iamblessed85:
Hey guys. Will you get an email if you get nominated for pnp or ITA? Or is it only seen when you log into your profile. I rarely ever log in because of the long steps involved
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by aworhmabel: 6:29pm On Jul 15, 2024
Hi Dear,

Not trying to discourage you but I'm not sure you will get any nomination with the sales manager role/administrative assistant if u do not

1. Have a sibling residing in a province that does sibling nomination (eg if u av a sibling that has lived in manitoba for over a yr). He or she can nominate you, which gives u an extra 600 points.

2. You might even qualify for the general draw if age is on ur side, ie. If u are under under 30, and have a sibling as a permanent residency holder and also have masters and french with perfect IELTS score. Then ur NOC shouldn't be an issue (i.e sales manger or administrative assistant will be ok)

If both options don't fit ur profile, you might consider going through the trending category draw that canada launched last year (I'm referring to Stem, Agriculture, Transportation, French and Health Care. Try and see if either of the five is workable for you.
Funky123:
Hi Guys

Has anyone in Sales( Sales manager) or Administrative support gotten a PNP recently?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by aworhmabel: 5:24pm On Jul 14, 2024
Yes please. That is what i would av done.
Bibitayo2:
Thank you.

So, I should delete the other two work experiences?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Worker Program - Connect Here Part 11 by aworhmabel: 4:06pm On Jul 14, 2024
This is just my thought though. I might be wrong.

Personally, i think it's best you stick with one NOC, especially if you av 3 or more years of work experience with that NOC and if the NOC aligns with the ongoing category draw (for example if uv had experience as working as an admin rep & transportation manager, Instead of using the NOC for Admin, use that of transportation). Just to be safe though. But make sure uv had enough experience up untill the draw was introduced in 2023. You can add your other work experience after you've gotten an ITA.
Bibitayo2:
Please, how can I know what my primary NOC is?
I am in the pool with 3 different work experiences.
