Pls egnrs, my hp laptop running win8 does not connect to internet with any modem even though it can detect it 4 installation and d memory card, what can i do?

LUTH main gate currently blocked as students demand response from authorities as they fear their life and properties are not secure following the fourth robbery incidence in a few months.
There are strong indications that if this matter is not addressed, the student's main hostel might be the net target of this robbers. The student felt school authorities are not doing enough to curb these incidences.
