Sadly, I have seen schools that parents pay 40-50k per term, yet the teachers are paid 18-20k. And even this meager amount deducted at any slight vexation of the proprietress.

If these issues are not addressed, then good bye to proper education in Nigeria.
True that
Teachers welfare is very important because it tells on the pupils.
The last private school I worked, on the first day of resumption, the proprietress said that #10k was stolen on her table and so it has to be deducted from our salaries, #2k was deducted out of my salary, because she was too careless to lock her drawer when going out, going on to say she trust her old workers not to do that, meaning I was the prime suspect. First day of resuming work o, na him I go enter office steal money,
I left the school the following month.
My eyes have seen pepper with private schools o.

Are there no government agencies to monitor or oversee the activities of these private schools?

Stories I hear about private schools these days are horrible?

Do parents know that their children's teachers are treated in this manner? And as such, the children will not be well taken care of academically?
The government is only concerned about the tax the school will pay, they are not involved/ interested in their welfare, The real issue is the problem of mushroom schools, someone can just convert his house into a school and employ teachers, how can such schools pay above minimum wage.
The parents have no say over the issue, what can a parent who pays #7500 per term in a school say over the such, the highest paying schools tax the parents well and they pay the teachers reasonably well

Man did not reveal this to you, heaven did. The husband is a Pastor and she is a DEACONESS. Her husband always close his eyes to what she is doing and Infact supports her by quoting various Bible passages.
No it's not in Ibadan. The school is in Ilorin, kwara state.
I have been through worse I worked with a school where the propietress insults you in front of the student, talks to you any how because of 15k.
The last private school I worked in, I taught English studies jss1-3 and literature ss1-3 for 13k, and December last year we were paid #6500 because we vacated on the 15th.
Private schools are slave drivers, I reject it for my worse enemy
BTW is the school marvelous treasure
