Totally agree with you, another factor is the sharp decline in the purchasing power of Nigerians. People can't even afford basic necessities anymore, everybody is cutting down on spending which definitely has impacted ehailing.

To be honest, that's why I stopped complaining of price. A suitable increase is not affordable by the average rider, and correct me if I'm wrong but there seems to be a decline in riders especially on bolt in recent times compared to earlier in the year.

Brothers I need help urgently..my fuel pump just pack up and see wetin rewire wan use put inside me fuel pump back. According to him, he rejoined the wires there and had to use nylon to cover it because black tape can't be used inside the fuel tank.
Camry v4 2011, I paid 40k and was told they'd buy Belgium complete.

Morning bosses. Pls how do you guys deal with phones overheating while using the Bolt Driver app and Google Maps?

Mine overheats a lot even when I'm running just these two apps. And most times the apps will just close. And then I'd have to turn off the phone and wait for sometime. It can be really frustrating cuz sometimes it does this mid ride, and then I'll start begging riders to give me directions.

I use a Samsung S20 with a Snapdragon chip. It's 6gm RAM.

Put it away from sunlight. If you hang your fun and it's facing direct sunlight or you put it on the center console near your gear and sunlight hits it, it will overheat. At least those are 100% the only times my phones overheat.

The same Uber that I know? I used to swear Uber was the best thing after fufu when I first started.

Nothing concern me with Bolt, to me Uber first. But it got to a period I'd open my Uber and I'd cancel about 30 orders straight, on consecutive days. I was even scared they'd ban me so I stopped using it, to save my account for December. If it's not distance, it's price. Like you mentioned, Low drivers so you get terrible pickup distance. Low users so hardly any surge. Fuel prices made it worse.

The problem about Nigerians is we don't really care about our cars once e Sha work/start in the morning business begins, so many things in a car mechanically makes your car have a proper fuel efficiency. Most drivers over 90% use water instead of antifreeze coolant, also when you want to service your car you will go to one chinedu to buy mobile 1 around 30k thinking you got a good and some funny men will go change dere oil specifications because one kazeem mechanic says so. Lastly dere mechanical go buy 2,000naira oil filter. If you want your car to run well fuel efficient last long use coolant, get a good oil to service your that works with you car model year mileage and have good tyres and a again some car catalyst as been tampered with. The last oil I use USA Valvoline fuel economy formula and high mileage around 90k my filter self is over 10k . Tell me why I won't enjoy a smooth ride with 5k fuel for around 40km to 50km on a free high way someone said maybe I don't know what km is.

Pickups now restricted to a government app that's now N3OK for a ride of N8K.

Its very true, though I checked some news report and FAAN claims they didn't ban other platforms, but... even the average person that read that news post can clearly see they're not denying the restriction. Simply put, their denial of the ban is just damage control to reduce public outrage and ease the change.

Besides who dey pickup for airport? Since Bolt did that their airport category na very stupid prices I dey see whenever i select am, except I'm mistaken.

I haven't worked in while cause prices are barely fair on surge days, but I was going to Ojota from Festac yesterday. Decided to get a ride going that direction, saw an order on Indrive to Ogudu (perfect destination drip) for 7k, around N245/km. Bro, I drove empty. Because if I carry the person now, they go start to dey reason say that price dey possible.

Mad traffic at Apapa Oworonshoki Express, for those heading towards Apapa, starting from Oshodi. Moving but find alternative routes, no put head.

Do you get? Nobody is siding the driver but people don't understand that some actions or prices just filter you to witness trouble. See another example, last week, one of my guy went to pick order, na so the guy dey shout dey insult for my guy ontop phone in phonetic with American accent say my guy no know road, when na him no give better directions. My guy cautioned him and on seeing him he only picked him because his partner was heavy (pregnant). Guess what, after my guy dropped him off, the wife forgot her phone in his car. As the baba call my guy first thing he talk na "Bros..."

Are you really using it's the rider's money to justify them exploiting the low fare setting Indrive permits? Both Indrive and the rider exploits the driver's lack of economic leverage as country hard.
And that was exactly, what I was pointing out, the broken system, this piss show we find ourselves in. The driver is a thief. The rider and Indrive are thieves as well from an ethical and economic standpoint.
No offense, you that sees the rider's action as getting a good deal or just their money is also a thief. See both wrongs, stop doing selective empathy.

Indrive will take about N1500 from the 8k you were to pay. His take home would have been about 6k. FFS 6k for driving 26km from VI to a traffic riddled Addo road? This hustle is the biggest modern day slavery in Nigeria at the moment . Even if you are on CNG, does 6k take home amount to labour and time? If the car was yours, would you pay someone 8k to drive you from VI to Addo in your own car and fuel?

There's no explaining why he bolted with your money. The fair deal for this trip is 15 - 20k in the prevailing economic situation. Maybe you should negotiate with him to return 60k to you. He may listen to that offer. Otherwise, just take it as karma.

Truly a tale of stingy rider meets hungry driver, nothing to see here.
It's much easier to get the money back from a 419 than from a desperate driver that accepts a N270/km ride.

Bro, as I saw this video I was just feeling for the uber guy. Two days before I saw this video I wanted to drive out for the rain surge but my mind just tell me say, you fit dey pursue Rain Surge make you go enter hole. Cause, there are some nasty streets with holes in the middle, there's one I entered in particular at Badore road, when heading back to the express, the last street before the roundabout, near the fuel station.

Map directed me to follow there to beat the traffic, as I turned into the street my right tire entered inside. I had to hold the brakes with my left leg and accelerated with the other leg, at the same time to reverse back to the road. If I had removed my leg from the brakes even for a second, my car would have fallen deeper, as the car was already leaning.

As Tublez said, exercise caution during this raining season. If possible always watch other cars, if nobody is taking an alternate route, there's a reason.

Happy Sunday chiefs, I met a client recently and he happens to work at moniepoint. Currently, moniepoint is rolling out a payment plan for CNG conversion. You only need to pay about 10% and you'd repay the rest over a set period. The client I met works in that particular department. He says it's still in early testing stage not fully released, but they've tested about 40 drivers. If anyone's interested, let me know I'd mail his contact. Apparently, if you have a moniepoint acct it's not difficult to apply directly from the app, which was what he mentioned, but I don't have a moniepoint acct nor was I keen to convert so I didn't pursue it.

Bosses I great Una. I need your advices, its been a while I enter road and I got a client for 7 days stay in Lagos, and I'd pick them up by 10am for a 5 mins drive and then come back by 6pm till 11pm. How much should I charge abeg? My car's a 2.4L Camry011, on fuel.

No rush change compressor o. Na so 2 AC guys dey yarn me say compressor, I did my own research and went to the third ac guy and told him what to do. Exactly the same issue I had (except I didn't take note of RPM, but AC drops in traffic and sometimes picks when I speed.)
Just google search "Moisture in your AC system can cause inconsistent cooling" you'd find out more. Basically, If they changed your gas without vacuuming (Flushing) it's very possible moisture dey the system.

Abeg wetin fit make AC dey blow well when you dey drive on constant speed and also blow well when you just on am at idle. But if you leave am at idle for long e go start dey trip off and on within seconds

Same thing if you have been enjoying the AC and you immediately stop at a 5mins traffic it will start raising and dropping engine RPM.

New condenser bought, Radiator fan working, new expansion valve.

Same thing happened to me twice, same fix both times; flushed the AC system and refilled gas. Check your gas levels, then flush the system and refill ac gas and oil.
