"Because God uses me mightily in wonder-working and soul-drawing many jealous people, both from the clergy and lay opposed me, but God lifted me up and brought them down. This earned me the name: OHU IZU AGBAALU DIKE.

He also shared his views on culture and tradition, saying, "Culture is the way of life, how to eat and do other things, while tradition is deeper. Tradition solves problems quickly because it involves certain forces and energies. Traditions arise through the move people make to solve problems that arise from culture. When asked about the word "Chi," Fr. Bona said, "God brought the spirit, the breath of life, that made us living souls. Your CHI is the breath of God, it lacks nothing, instead it provides. Your has to struggle with the flesh and blood from parents That is why you think that you need to provide food and other things for your Chi. But the reverse is true. It is your Chi that will provide food and other things for you. Going back to Culture does not mean going back to idol worship and similar things"

BY-ELECTION SHAME: ANAMBRA TREASURY TURNED INTO CASH BAZAAR

The Campaign Organization of Dr. George Moghalu and Hon. Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro notes with deep concern the boastful and misleading claims made by Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in Nanka after Saturday’s by-election, where he arrogantly declared that Labour Party and its governorship candidate were “defeated” in his polling unit.

Ordinarily, such empty chest-thumping should be ignored. But silence breeds distortion, and Ndi Anambra deserve the truth, plain and clear.

The truth is this: Labour Party had no candidate in the by-election. INEC had already made it clear that Labour Party could not participate in the August 16, 2025 by-elections anywhere in the country not for House of Assembly and not for Senate. How then could Governor Soludo boast of “defeating” Labour Party? Was any Labour Party candidate published by INEC? Did anyone see Labour Party campaign or posters anywhere? Clearly, Soludo’s so-called victory is nothing but a stage-managed comic act designed to deceive the public.

Yet, even without participating in the election, Ndi Anambra still demonstrated overwhelming affection for Labour Party. In several polling units, voters openly demanded to vote for Labour Party despite its exclusion. This speaks louder than Soludo’s propaganda. It shows Labour Party is not just a political party, but the very heartbeat of Ndi Anambra —a people’s movement that cannot be silenced.

What played out on Saturday was not democracy but a bazaar of shame. The entire state watched as Anambra’s treasury was emptied to fund reckless vote buying, with reports of voters receiving up to ₦30,000 each. This rain of cash only proves one thing: APGA and its government have nothing to offer except desperation and deceit.

This by-election has become an eye-opener. A governor who chants “Solution is Here” could not win without sharing money. If indeed Soludo has performed, why did he need to squander billions to “prove” popularity? What credibility lies in a victory that was purchased, not earned?

Even worse, Governor Soludo now celebrates the “defeat” of a widow. Ndi Anambra must ask: what kind of leader spends billions just to humiliate a widow in an election? What kind of victory is this one without conscience?

And the bigger question: where is the security vote of Ndi Anambra? If billions can be released overnight to buy votes, why has Soludo failed to secure lives and property, fix our collapsing roads, revive hospitals, empower our youths with jobs, and restore hope in our communities? Why is there always money for vote buying but never money for governance?

Governor Soludo parades himself as a reformer and economist, but this election has exposed him as a reckless spender, a political trader, and a leader thriving on propaganda rather than performance. This is hypocrisy at its peak.

Let it be clear: Saturday’s by-election was no test of popularity. It was a one-sided drama because Labour Party did not participate. APGA should not deceive itself. November 8, 2025 will tell a different story because Labour Party has a sellable and capable governorship candidate. Ndi Anambra will speak decisively at the ballot box.

Earlier, Dean of Post Graduate Studies Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University, Prof Moses Chendo who chaired the event commended the benefactor for the gesture.

"Dr . Chioma Awuzie generosity and passion has made significant difference in many lives. Turning ambitious growths into reality. Providing access to education and homes to families," he said.

Also speaking, the acting Rector of Anambra state Polytechnic, Mgbakwu. Dr. Njideka Chikezie stated that Students are among people who are needy and should be assisted.

"Philanthropists only remember orphanage homes and beggers. But there are Students from different poor family background that need support."

She also commended Dr. Chioma Awuzie for her kind gestures and wished her well for her 52nd birthday.

YPP PROMISES REGULAR INTERFACE BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT AND ANAMBRARIANS - Uzu Okagbue

The YPP deputy governorship aspirant in the forthcoming Anambra State gubernatorial elections, Uzuegbunam Okagbue has asserted that a YPP government in place will ensure periodic parleys between the government and the people of Anambra State. He stated this while addressing the press recently in Umunachi. Okagbue insisted that a constant ‘feel the pulse of the people’ will help YPP government to better serve the people.

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) is one of the opposition political parties seeking to unseat the incumbent All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) government led by Professor Chukwuma Soludo for alleged non-performance.

Uzu Okagbue, who is not new in government circles said that the YPP will govern the state in a manner that citizens will be as relevant as their craft makes them. He decried the unending insecurity in the state, stating that the YPP will be issue-based in tackling challenges facing the state.

While presenting the YPP as an alternative to the government currently in power, come March 2026, the deputy governorship hopeful promised that YPP government will ensure that development is evenly spread across all zones in Anambra State simultaneously.

Speaking on zoning arrangement for governorship office, Okagbue distanced himself from that, maintaining that governance should not be practiced on the basis of turn by turn but on the basis of leadership capability.

“Leadership is not practiced by turn by turn but by capability. So, if there should be zoning, it should be a matter of political party and not a constitutional thing.

“What people pursue in leadership is competence”, he said.

The Umunachi-born politician who described himself as husband to widows recounted how he has been a strong pillar to widows whose paths have crossed his. He described widows as part of the less privileged and as such should enjoy support from the government. As part of YPP’s package for the less privileged and very low income earners, Okagbue stated that YPP government will adopt a top-mid approach to taxation that will shield those at the bottom like tricycle drivers popularly called keke drivers and related other businesses.

He lamented that the state runs a daily 8 hours economy because of insecurity and the economy of the state will not grow under such situation. The running mate of the YPP gubernatorial candidate emphasized that YPP will tackle insecurity with the seriousness and sustainability that it deserves, thereby making payment system run on 24 hours basis while the state will run on a minimum 15 hours daily and gradually increase to 24 hours with improvement in security. This he said will greatly build the economy of the state because insecurity hinders the revenue that should have accrued from agricultural resources within the agrarian parts of the state. In those areas, farmers no longer freely go their farms, while large scale agricultural investments cannot take place.
