While the US actually was against the Nord Stream, It basically had no reason to sabotage the line as it was already suspended. It is likely a false flag operation by Russia to cause divisions between the US and Europe.

Yeah Russia organized an army ,a nuclear powered submarines, sailed from Russia passed Poland and ventured into a NATO territory, undetected by all the NATO patrol navies stationed there and blew up the pipe which is the only leverage they had on Europe because it is too stressful to just turn off the pipe with a switch in Russia.
