Continue fooling yourself. You think the north is interested in the change you shout day and night per second shouting, what they want is power back to north. As soon as GMB is disqualified and Osinbajo takes over, the whole of northern key sponsors will pull out of your ganjaweed party called APC.

I don't get why some people are just so scared of a change that is imminent. Would you rather Jonathan goes unopposed? Are you that afraid of GMB? Why are you so bent on getting him out of the race? No matter the effort you put, God will nullify them. Buhari is the man!
NIGERIANS need sincere and honest change not self acclaimed saints who indulge in forging and hiding statements of results, lying under oath and hiding from the law. NIGERIANS don't need such change agents. So stop deceiving yourself. GEJ might not be the best, but nothing is perfect. GMB is not an option please.

I am forced to comment on this issue based on the misconception that people have on this postponement, INEC was not ready for February 14 and needed a collaboration from the military to get themselves off the hook, else not, was there no ban on the use of the military for the Election?

People fail to ask some pertinent questions as their minds are made up not to see anything good in what the government does.

Politics › Re: Legal Position On Buhari's Educational Qualifications by babestella: 10:21am On Feb 09, 2015
torhuke:
what the law implies is that any body who is contesting elections must have a "school certificate". There is no prefix (secondary, primary or tertiary) before the word school certificate so it is even wrong to say school certificate means waec or secondary school leaving certificate. School certificate is not the ONLY issue here because when you write common entrance as a primary 6 student and you are consequently graded and awarded a result it qualifies as "school certificate" same way WAEC, Bsc, LLb, NCE, OND, msc. phd, Hnd, or even a military school diploma certificate or even an Almajiri school leaving certificate will all qualify as "school certificate". We went to Law SCHOOL and we were given a CERTIFICATE in the end after we passed and that is our law "SCHOOL CERTIFICATE".
Now It behoves on the contestant seeking election to tell us that he has something that will qualifies as school certificate. So the law envisaged anything or something that "qualifies as school certificate". The law doesn't want to know how much you have studied or whether you jumped one stage to get to the other, all it requires is a SCHOOL CERTIFICATE. Even the constitution will admit a primary 6 leaving certificate as "SCHOOL CERTIFICATE" just as his military schools certificates "if any" will qualify. Buhari boxed him self to a corner by stating "WAEC" as his own "school certificate" when he has nothing to back up such. If he had told Nigerians via INEC that what he possess is a Primary school certificate and then "tendered a photocopy of same", this whole certificate miasma would not have arisen. If he had also told INEC that what he has is a "military school certificate" and then show us an authentic copy of same, there would be no questions to answer under "the law". Whatever grouse we would have with that will be morally inclined. There is no ambiguity in those sections of the law that talks about certificate of a contestant but Buhari hasn't complied. Consequent upon the amendment of the electoral act 2011 which together with the constitution is the "predicate and base" on which anything concerning elections must stand, and the provision in one of the electoral forms that asks contestants to attach photocopies of whatever "school certificate" they posses, non-compliance by any of the political gladiators seeking elective office is tantamount to putting something (ambition) on nothing. In the instant case, buhari in filling his forms said he posses "WAEC" certificate and rather than attaching a photocopy attached an affidavit. In his affidavit, he didn't say his certificates were burnt, stolen or missing, he said they are with the Military. How can he not have photocopies of his certificates and no originals and he cannot apply to any of the institution he has served or to even Waec for a photocopy or certified true copy.
If anybody can just come up to say I am a lawyer and then he is asked of his "certificate" and he cannot show one, not even a photocopy or certified true copy, that person isn't a lawyer. Now if for instance you are contesting election to be president of Nigeria tomorrow and instead of saying you have higher qualifications like a BL opts to state WAEC or LLB and you attach a copy of any of those certificates, you have passed the legal test or qualification of "school certificate". If you go on to state that you have LL.M and you have nothing to show that you have LL.M, you have boxed your self to a corner like Buhari. BuHari should have stated what he has and then attached a photocopy of such certificate be it military diploma or WAEC or master certificate. Any "SCHOOL CERTIFICATE" of which we can see a copy as evidence would have saved Buhari and Nigeria this embarrassment. The implications of Buharis actions is that he does not have anything that qualifies to be called a "school certificate". If professor Sagay has anyone, let him tender it on behalf of Buhari and let us see and this controversy that is embarrassing Nigeria will stop.
The rules of evidence say that "if it is the evidence of something that can be seen, then someone must be able to say I saw. Any other evidence apart from "I saw" will amount to hearsay. BUhari has not shown INEC and Nigerians anything as his "school certificate" and that is where the problem lies. Have you seen anything that qualifies as a "CERTIFICATE" from Buhari whether from military school or primary school or secondary school or Almajiri school? If no, how do we ascertain that "Buhari" has all the military and professional qualifications given to him by professor Sagay?

Even Though the condescending lowering of the office of the president of Nigeria to the level of "primary school certificate holders" is highly reprehensible and mediocritic, it is still the law and If anything, our constitution is one reason why Nigeria should still be regarded as a "third world country". Buhari has still not been able to comply with these "unlimited mediocrity" provisions in our laws. It is that bad.
Thank you. A firm analysis coming from one simple reasonable, sensible and objective Nigerian on NL. The court will surely and finally put this matter to rest. Soon.
Politics › Re: Legal Position On Buhari's Educational Qualifications by babestella: 10:05am On Feb 09, 2015
Paid write up and I'm not surprised.

What buhari is being sued for is forgery a perjury. Nigerians know he attended a secondary school but how do you proof he attended a secondary school if not by his certificate. Did he write the WASC exam at all? If he wrote the exam how do we know? It is by showing Nigerians his certificate for the public to see and if they feel like verifying the said certificate they are free to do so. It has nothing to do with whether he passed or not.

Why he's being sued is because a result was published on his behalf which looked very funny and Nigerians are asking for a confirmation of the published result. We all know where that is hanging now. He has been very crafty about this result issue by not yet admitting that the result (which is not even in his name) is his. So the case of forgery and perjury is still very strong against him, it cannot be wished away by the writer and buhari supporters/promoters.

Lagos State To Cough Up N1 Billion To Fund Tinubu's Birthday Celebration

SaharaReporters has learnt that former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos has demanded that the Lagos State government and various local government councils in the state contribute huge sums of cash to fund his 69th birthday celebration.

aharaReporters has learnt that former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Lagos has demanded that the Lagos State government and various local government councils in the state contribute huge sums of cash to fund his 69th birthday celebration.

Reliable sources told SaharaReporters that Mr. Tinubu, a professed opposition figure and leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), made it compulsory that the chairmen of all local governments under the party contribute cash to give him a birthday that one of his critics has described as “obscene and immoral.” In all, the ACN chieftain has asked the state and local governments to cough up N1 billion.

“The birthday party is being planned as a month-long affair and will be celebrated in phases,” said one source.

In addition to the funds from his state, Mr. Tinubu has also asked that the governors of Oyo, Ekiti, Edo and Ekiti make significant cash donations to the planned events. Our sources revealed that tension may be brewing between Mr. Tinubu and Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State over the latter’s refusal to contribute towards the lavish birthday party.

Mr. Ajimobi recently hosted President Goodluck Jonathan's wife, Patience, during her visit to Oyo State. A source close to the governor told SaharaReporters that Mrs. Jonathan told Mr. Ajimobi not to create enmity with PDP elements in his state. She reportedly described former Governor Tinubu as a closet member of the PDP.

Our source said Mrs. Jonathan, who was piqued by Tinubu’s recent criticisms of her husband’s policies, also revealed that Mr. Tinubu has met secretly with her husband on several occasions. She said that, at one such private meeting last year in France, President Jonathan and Tinubu struck a deal to quash a case against the former governor for violations of Code of Conduct provisions.

After portraying Mr. Tinubu as a selfish politician out for his personal financial interests, Mrs. Jonathan told Ajimobi to contact her directly if he needed anything from Mr. Jonathan.

A source in Oyo stated that Governor Ajimobi’s decision not to bankroll Tinubu’s birthday extravaganza may signal the governor’s determination to escape from under Mr. Tinubu’s tyrannical style of leadership within the ACN political orbit and Ajimobi's move to start a gradual migration back to the PDP. Ajimobi is generally described as a non-performing governor by Oyo indigenes.

Although Mr. Tinubu claims to be 60 years old, a source told us that he is at least 67 years old.

You are just being an ethnic bigot... pure and simple. I don't use sentiment to make decisions like you are doing. Even if he is my blood brother, same mother and father, I will vote him out since he couldn't deliver on his mandate.

STOP being sentimental man. REMOVE that rubbish from your mind... and use logic in whatever you embark on.
I am not being sentimental or tribalistic about my comments. It might have sounded that way to you, I simply stated the obvious staring us all in the face. Take it or leave it, if this is not handled with all sincerity of purpose rather than base this on a blanket of deceptive change, we will end up where we really don't want to be. I see a lot of people claim GEJ has never achieved anything for the past 6 years and I say that is being deceptively cynical. If the opposition actually wanted PDP out of the way starting it during OBJs & Yaradua's tenure would had been a better time. GEJ has been so abused, all manner of name calling even by people who cannot take charge if their own family, his convoy attacked in different parts of the country, denigration of the office he occupies and so on and you tell me it's not about tribal politics. Please save your story until March 28.

I see. Legal Money indeed. To APC and their followers every rich man in Nigeria is a thief, but once you join APC you become a saint, an agent of change. Hmm. By the way Egypt, Libya an the rest are still struggling to stand after their pathetic youths plunged the country into chaos in the name of change, today most of them regret the Arab spring which has brought forth off shoots like ISIL in the region. Egypt was lucky to grab power back from the Muslim brotherhood, their case would have been worse today. The truth of the matter is that Nigeria cannot survive it, we don't have the will. If not worse.

Quote me.
The last time I checked Gbagbo is not a citizen of Nigeria. We all know where he is from and in that part of the world they don't have oil, no oil money to fight for. No Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Tiv, Efik and so on. Please don't compare Nigeria with gbagbos country. We are on the brink of another civil war, we are inevitably going to break up just because some people deceptively think a minority can not and does not deserve to lead this nation as a president, while some think without them in power there can't be peace in Nigeria. We are yet to learn and it's is very unfortunate this will hit us like a fireball just as we think it's all child's play. Change is inevitable, but breaking up is a better way to change. Watch as it lands in Nigeria sooner than you expect. May God not turn Nigeria to Syria.
