If you can do us a favour, Give use actual quantities of materials used for the floor and let's compare with the estimated quantities. Though there is allowance for differences but in this case, it will be to much.

Like I said earlier, QS are not meant to dwell on project like this, but on large projects such as high rise buildings, large housing estates infrastructural development and the likes. That is where our servicis are needed.

It baffles me when some are saying advice shouldn't be given. No QS would want to work on projects like this except a student...

There is nothing like German floor my brother. It is called oversite concrete. Convert your imperial measurement to metric to make it easy. Oversite concrete only have thickness which u referred to as height. Remove d area of d void space from d total area and multiply by thickness to get d volume of your concrete. From there u can get quantities of materials depending on your mix ratio.

The fact is that real professional advice can't be gotten here. Take a look at the estimating he did and you will see that he made no allowance for shrinkage and waste for cement. You can't get good quotes here.

2. I don't think any QS would want to be called upon first this type of project. A good and experienced builder/bricklayer can easily give you a reasonable quote for this. No Professional wants to handle projects like this cause we all know where the REAL money is...

I have been telling my friend about this, I pray he doesn't fall victim. When I realised how vulnerable this services is I just had to transfer all my funds from my GT bank Account to my Zenith Bank account. It's more safe when using their USSD and even mobile app. To use the USSD, you don't have anything to do with your ATM card. All you need is the PIN you set yourself when registering for the service. Even when using their mobile app with token, you still have to input a PIN before the transaction can be successful.

Let me explain once more. Somebody somewhere is stealing my money by PURPORTEDLY recharging my 2 lines and my wife's line. I have never bought credit with my account, but I suppose SMS alert would have been sent based on the fact that ANY transaction done on your account would be reported to you via SMS. In this peculiar cases, NONE was sent. Why would they not send alert? It is simply because somebody somewhere is trying to hide the transactions.
How did they get my number? That is fairly easy to guess. It is the REGISTERED phone line that I use with the bank, so if I type *737# with that line, it doesn't take Rocket Science to figure how they got the line. They also PURPORTEDLY recharge my other line. How did they get hold of that one? It beats me. How did they get hold of my wife's line. I can't figure it out.


Good thinking but faulty one. I live in a 3-bedroom flat with a wife and 4 children; the 2 eldest are teenagers, ready to go to higher institutions. I confiscated the line because it was 2Go every time, so they don't have phones for now. When I went through the records, some of the transaction times were as early as 7 am when I am with my phone in my bedroom, beside the bed and switched off. It couldn't have been any of my family members. That is for sure.

Well, I think the bank's response after lodging your complaint should make things clearer...

This same issue is why I love my zenith Bank mobileand internet banking. To use the USSD, you have to know my PIN set personallyby me not the ATM last digits. Even with my token, you still have to know another transaction PIN set personally.

I think that's way more secured but not at gun point though .

GTB should also work on making the channel more secured. I bank with them though but always have Little fUnd there.

Bro you said you didn't get alert. What of the email alerts you are showing. How did the person know your personal phone contact which happens to be your wife? I'm very sure an outsider, especially a bank staff can't know this if he or she isn't your relatives. What was the response when you went to complain? What seems to be happening here is that someone is recharging his or her line through your account and deletes the SMS alerts immediately the transaction is completed. Cause on a good day, for you to get an email alert, you should get SMS alert too. Bro check well... .
