Being paid or not in an higher institution, depends on the department and its financial condition.

I did my service in University of Ibadan and I was not paid. However, some other corps members (in the same UI) got paid.

N.Y.S.C is great experience you would later cherish, even after the service. So, make it count.

Have a genuine intention and a clear plan of what you tend to achieve.

Whether you are paid or not, look at other things you might tend to gain in the long run...maybe in relation to your career progression or networks. If it's worth it, go ahead, and vice versa.

Make the best use of the period.

I don't have much experience when it comes to advice like this but I would say forget about school for now, you can still further your education after establishing a successful business.

Most schools in Nigeria are planning on increasing their fees, this will cause majority of students to dropout considering the current economic situation.

Also unemployment rate is at the highest level now in Nigeria and there is no guarantee of getting a job after graduating.

As for the business, I would say it's better to go into something that people actually need or use on a regular basis but it all depends on location your starting the business.

Go for it. It is time consuming true, especially software engineering. I heard it's very tedious, but remember, nothing good comes easy. The VA is tedious too but for a shorter time. It's an 8 weeks course. Goodluck.
I got into Upwork about 3+ years ago. Got my account approved but didn't work, it was just fallow. I only got serious about it after the VA training.

Yeah that's the spirit, how did you get into upwork I heard it's a very difficult platform to get into and for the fact that you were able to get one job means more are likely to come.

I also do VA jobs but I get clients mostly from forums, am thinking of talking the ALX program on VA or maybe software development but the time demand is just too much I don't know if I will be able to keep up with it.

Have you being able to secure any job after the program and does alx help their students in getting jobs after their program?
