This is exactly what I am trying to point out. Majority of students there now are Muslims and that reflected on how campus look now.

I could remember when it was seemingly christian dominated campus, you will be served preaching on and off campus even inside campus buses/taxis lol.

I think during Prof. Oloyede some strict discipline were introduced which seems what security was trying to enforce seeing you which of course not necessarily Islamic.

Yes, you must cover your head regardless of your religion. Muslims make up about 69% of the population. I went there during their last exam period, and a security officer called me over. I smiled and walked up to him. As I got closer, he reached out to touch my hair. I pushed him away and brought out my ID. He immediately saluted me and apologized, saying, "Sorry sir, I thought you were a student." I told him, "Even if I were a student, my hair isn’t bad. You shouldn’t force everyone to cut their hair low or go bald.

I spent 4 years in Ilorin; those were my university days. The place was to a large extent peaceful. Baring strange occurrences, you could predict every day. The cost of living was the most fantastic thing. Food and transportation were easier than ABC. Then with ₦100, you could eat a decent meal. Each drop of the taxi was ₦50. For people like me who are reserved, it was great. Once in a while, we visit the restaurants in the evening for pepper soup and finger foods. We do eatery too. Those were the tail end of my stay there. Campus life was easy, may be a bit boring but interesting. It was sweet. I still have some of the friends I made there. Now I hear the campus is islamised. That's bad for a federal university. The neighborhood is friendly and I sometimes wish I could go see those places again.
