What's the best option for such a tenant who is threatened you the house owner that he is free to stay for another period of 6 month after his rent expiration, claiming he is yet to find another house to move to. That it's in Nigeria constitution.
He has stayed for free for three months already.
What would you advise?

Your case dey similar to my neighbour's own.
Honestly if the tenant goes to court after the three months he will still get extra months again like three more months. This I have seen before. The only alternative is to involve a lawyer so that everything will be in due process. I guess you don't have one because if not your tenant wouldn't say that at all . If you had a lawyer from the beginning he would have served him quite notice prior immediately his rent had expired for a duration of three months.

I guess your tenant is troublesome because na only those ones they reach six months.
