I think it is time for universities to engage more directly with the Irish Embassy and the Irish government regarding the prolonged delays in processing student visa applications. If there are concerns about admitting or issuing visas to Nigerian students, applicants deserve to be informed clearly. We cannot be expected to pay substantial tuition fees, submit extensive documentation, and then remain in limbo for months without meaningful communication.

At this point, I am not only frustrated with the visa process but also deeply disappointed by the lack of effective coordination. Where is the Nigerian diplomatic representation in Ireland in all of this? Many of us have spent months gathering the required documents, paying fees, securing admission, and preparing for our studies. The uncertainty is exhausting, and honestly, I am extremely tired and sad.

What made you to say this?
Blueberry111112:
Normally, they’ll do a mass approval before the last resumption day allowed by Irish universities. So, hopefully ya all going to get a response next monday or so.

I keep on saying it that it is a sabotage. A deliberate sabotage
Jandminded:
They know what they are doing.

Someone I went to VFS Abuja on the same day has gotten a decision.

He was to attend a conference in Ireland on the first week of September, they didn't give him a decision, then on the second week of September, they sent him a Visa denial, citing that the reason he's going to Ireland has already passed, financial issues and incomplete documentation.

Meanwhile, they haven't said anything about mine, we both had our application reach the embassy on 22nd July.

It is not controlled by Nigerians, it is done by Irish
emy1206:
I don’t know if this people have priority waitlist, if so they should tell all of us let everybody pay, or maybe her uncle or someone she knows works at the embassy and that’s probably why ours are been pushed down. Everything in Nigeria is nepotized

Make them give me my passport and others. I no do again. I would have reached the UK by now if I had applied to the UK. School gave me 21st as the deadline I have not even gotten visa. They are painfully slow. Deferral is almost 98% now for me.

Which kind country be this? Kai
0xJRD:
Then you definitely need to start emailing them or even try calling. I was reading through some of the earlier messages here, and someone mentioned that they called the embassy and were told they weren’t attending to student visa applications at that time, even though the resumption date was already getting close.

Someone is even saying I should withdraw as soon as possible because it is better than rejection. They said if the school resumes before visa decision is out it may lead to rejection. I don't know how true it is.
Toolsin:
I feel for my country, just a page for one week, while people wait to more than 12weeks to made a decision, I understand they need to do there verification but what kind of verification takes more than 90days when people don't kill or steel. After waiting so long they still reject application, I see today's list is full of rejection.

If sch resume and decision is not out they reject based on that as well and this is there fault.

So, most people complaining here have complicated documents. This is intentional.
Jandminded:
They don't actually do first come first serve.

Some people see decision in 6 weeks.

Apparently, If your application is complicated, they would put in on standby for further assessment.
Travel › Re: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Badddoo: 10:43am On Sep 03
Only 35 decisions this week, when there are hundreds of people waiting. 35 decisions in a week is only about 5 decisions per working day if you spread it across five days. For a major visa office handling a country as large as Nigeria including some West African countries, that feels painfully slow.

I am even tired, no decision so far this week. At least they should prioritize study. My school gave me till on the 21st. I am tired, if June and May never get decision, what is the fate of July submission?

Please, is the visa processing within 8 weeks, or should I comot my mind? My school is resuming on September 7th. I submitted my application on July 29th; it reached the embassy for processing on August 5th.
