the major problem is the introduction of custodians that can influence nominations and secondly housemates voting to evict their fellow housemates. These 2 dumb introductions ruined the whole show.
Chinwe even said it one night while gisting with flourish that the custodian thing fall housemates hand. U can't talk, u can't querell before custodian or your fellow housemates vote to evict you.
Even rootie, that stood up to the custodians, if biggie had evicted only tobi pair and left flourish, housemates would have been gingered know that custodians are not that powerful.
And this issue of evicting the pair was another nonsense. The producers should have allowed the viewers vote which members of the nominated pairs should stay. Dami, Nne, Mayor and Zion's evictions really pained me. Their pair mates should have been the ones to be evicted.
And this pairing don do. They should unpair them let each housemate play their individual games.
For those saying it's a pair season, hope u watched last Sunday's liveshow. Ebuka put doubt in minds of people. He say 'this season is it a pair that will win or an individual" something like that. And say "we will see"

The custodian and housemates voting to evict is brilliant. That way new strategies and alliances would be introduced. They must not fight to entertain us. A lot of BB franchises have housemates evicting and even determining the winners.

Kiddwayya, T.boss, Mike and Some other Past BBN House mates were even from Privileged Background yet their Head were still in the game, they entertained the viewers and still hustled for their price money so why is this Season so boring??I still think the Problem is from the Production Teams.

The simple answer is viewer fatigue or over familiarity if you will. Those guys were fortunate enough to have been in seasons when the hype was still hot. Now viewers have seen everything the show has to offer, so the housemates can't really do anything to spice it up. What would you imagine any of them can do to entertain?

This even on the reasons why there is a need for change of production, as for the decline its normal for viewership to decline as some people will outgrow the show, while new peeps will find their way to the show and it's normal for any show that has longevity....

But they will not change the production team sadly. You know how things here go - there's a shit ton of money and perks that comes with being a part of the production team (kickbacks and all). They will rather chew jeans than reshuffle even if the show keeps tanking. We are stuck with this version of BBN.

This will be my last response because realistically, it shouldn't be cause for argument.

Nobody is against revamping the series. That's what we all want. But I don't understand why people here are so aversive to the idea of taking a break. Taking a break doesn't mean the show will be cancelled or forgotten. It's just a strategic move to ensure the show's long-term sustainability and mainstream success. Even popular shows like Stranger Things and Doctor Who take lengthy breaks between seasons to allow for production and creative renewal.

If you guys insist that the show doesn't need a break, there's actually no problem. Of course it can be restructured without taking a break. But be aware that viewer fatigue is a very real thing, and we've started seeing the signs already with this season. Go look up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even after Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, they kept chugging out movies until the audience got fed up and box office returns started to plummet.

You made a good point with BBUS, but you should know that the show peaked in the late 2000s and early 2010s and has been on a steady decline in TV ratings ever since. Look it up on Wikipedia. BBUS isn't as mainstream in North America now as it was circa 2011, 2012 etc. Some casual viewers don't care about what production is or isn't doing behind the scenes. They just know that they're tired of seeing the same thing every. single. year. Me, I'm just worried that BBN is going to end up losing its mainstream appeal and become one of those shows reserved for a niche segment of the viewing public. But if you don't mind, then I guess it's not really going to be an issue anyway.

Well said. The show needs a break. Possibly another well thought out reality TV show can take its place while they sort stuff out. But knowing how things work here, they'd rather just keep getting money from brands who want to advertise, while churning out mediocre season after mediocre season.
I feel BBN is no more about viewer entertainment, but raking in money via capitalism and consumerism. They can't even be bothered with something as little as time management for tasks/presentations.

I have always reiterated those statement of yours in bold. And as a pioneer Big Brother fan, this BBNaija is not all that even at its peak when compared to BBAfrica. The game play and maneuvers by housemates in BBAfrica should be learned by this BBNaija housemates, they dont understand this is a game that you have to strategize and weaken your competitor not someone you have beef with.

Also, one of my major highlights of BBAfrica is learning a lot about other African countries, the relationship that exist in their regions between the countries. Furthermore, there are no pity votes in BBAfrica, everybody is not voting the same way. During eviction at the live shows, Ebuka doesnt show housemates who voted them out and we dont get to see the reaction to the betrayals.

BBNaija housemates are too fake and conscious of the camera. Naija hypocrisy is on another level and its why they dont show us those romantic and sexual contents, if it were BBAfrica I am 100% sure we would have seen better videos of Zinwe sexual act.

Again, you people should not blame BBN housemates. They are only going along to what's the norm - social media popularity and sponsored tasks. Blame the producers, fans, and Nollywood producers who have made BBN a backdoor to the movie industry for ruining the show. BBN is now about selling your 'talents' and gathering fans who will donate millions for you post show.

I always feel multichoice should get the team that did that selection to do a repeat.

Payporte's era was excellent. I'm not sure how much influence headline sponsors have over the show, but none has beaten Payporte.

There are definitely psychological evaluations they could have done during the selection process to make sure they get interesting people.

Majority of people watch BBN because of gbas gbos, if I wanted to watch people eating and casually chatting I go watch food network.

Deep down the housemates in the house probably know that their season has been boring.

There's literally nothing to look forward to either for today's pool party or any other day sef.

What makes someone interesting is subjective. That is why as quiet as Victoria is, she has fans. However, an environment created to trigger different responses from these personalities. We don't always have to depend on gbas gbos. Again, maybe they should go back to the concept that inspired this show for ideas. Shake things up, that's all I'm saying.
A lot of us here would behave exactly the same if we were in that house atm. It's not a housemate thing. Of course they are conscious of the fact that they are boring because they know people are watching. But what else do we want them to do?

Human psychology is the same. Struggling Nigerians in a comfortable zone would also become lazy. Besides it is still the viewers who would denigrate the choice to bring 'struggling' Nigerians. Wasn't it on this thread people were complaining that the housemates don't dress good and fancy enough for Tv? Na struggling Nigerian go dress fancy?
Another impression to correct is that reality shows are just that by name. A lot of plotting and manipulation goes on behind the scenes. If we are going by the reality thing, then nobody should complain about them being boring because they're living as they would aside.
Again the team should create environments that trigger interesting reactions. Bring back the haves and haves not thing - create a faux social divide in the house, only in this case they can actually do something to change their class. Maybe give power to nominate solely to the head of house and watch how intense the head of house challenge gets every week. Bring back the theme of the week thing and enforce it. Eg the fears and phobia thing from See Gobe. Cut down on the sponsored tasks. Reduce viewer power so that housemates to don't play to please the viewers, but navigate the house. Lastly for this season, make the pairs compete amongst themselves for a single slot to remain in the house, rather than just dissolving pairs. Imagine the two sets of twins going up against each other or Bffs like Nelly and Anita, husband vs wife. Etc

The major problem is nepotism! Why bring via connection and god fatherism When We have over 100Million struggling average Nigerians that are hungry for the money!
U don't expect people that are highly connected to work that hard in giving us a show even if they promise the organizers to entertain.. knowing they can make the prize money easily by just going into the house and boosting their chains of network!

Put nepotism aside, what will 'ordinary' Nigerians bring that hasn't been brought.
BBN is like a movie, there is a production team (writers and all), the housemates are like movie characters. It's up to the production team to bring out the best from the characters. You don't put people in a house with all of those perks and expect them to be automatically entertaining. Even if na me, I go just dey gist, play game, chop, and wait for sponsored task. Put the character on an effing journey.
Another problem is the viewers who have created the impression that just being on BBN is an automatic ticket to stardom - imagine Zion and Chinwe saying they want to act. The perks are too much that it'd make anyone lazy.

You stated the same point of reshuffling production team. Physical auditions or not, it doesn't change. It the same people who exists online that exists offline, moreover they still hold physical auditions after preliminary selections are made. Think of it as applying for a job, shortlisted candidates are invited for further trimming.
If the production doesn't improve, nobody you put there would bring anything new.

BBN sadly has run its course and should take a bow. Maybe they should brainstorm on another reality show or something.

The production team is to be blamed for the show's poor performance. Ever since BBN became a dumping ground for companies to advertise their products through sponsored tasks, it has been dwindling. The production team doesn't even bother with ideas - just wake up, lounge around and wait for sponsored tasks which half of the winnings are never redeemed.
Take a leaf out of the book that inspired this thing and create an environment for drama, intrigue and tension. With that, you get a mix of reactions from the different personalities in there.

I have not really been watching this season as such, maybe I will start watching more from next month. However, I have a question to ask. The times I have watched or checked trend table, I hardly see the Double Kay couple. So why exactly are they popular? Can someone help me out...maybe I'm missing out something.

What content or dynamics are they bringing to the show? Are they funny? Are they sneaky, toxic, do they fight, do they instigate, do they cry, cook...what do they do? What exactly do people find entertaining about them? At least I have seen the male twins, female twins, Aces, Chekas involved in one content/highlight or the other but I haven't gotten any major highlight from Double Kay. So what is their support based on?.....is it based on content or just sentiments?

Now, if you say their content is being married and pretending not to be married to the housemates, I haven't seen how that adds anything to the dynamics of the game. It's not like Kellyrae is leading any girl on or Kassia is trying to lead any guy on.....and I'm also sure that most of the housemates currently suspect that the relationship between them is more than 'besties' that they claim but of course, they won't voice it out because they(Doublekay) being married or not doesn't affect anybody's game or dynamics in the house. What I mean is that, even if Biggie announces to the house right now that they are married, nobody's game in that house will be affected in any way. All housemates will just do is shout awwww, and move on....So, how is Double kay hiding their marriage a content?? Had it been they were hiding their marriage to lead housemates on, then maybe I will understand the hype, but they are not doing that.

So, please, can someone point to me what interesting thing, content, highlight, or just anything I should watch out for with regards to DoubleKay? Maybe I will finally get what the hype is all about.
