According to Facebook user, Saleh Abas, this pretty Nigerian female soldier named Oluwatoyin Ogunleye, was beheaded by Boko Haram members during their attack on a community in Borno state recently. So sad! May her soul rest in perfect peace!!! http://www..ng/2016/03/28/sad-see-photos-nigerian-female-soldier-allegedly-beheaded-boko-haram/

Borno State Chief Hunter, Mallam Maigana Maidurma, yesterday, renewed his appeal to the military to allow hunters in the state join the fight against Boko Haram in Sambisa Forest. He said that the hunters were not afraid of any danger because most of them have supernatural powers, which will come in handy in the fight. Maidurma, who made the call in Maiduguri, said they were eager to join the fight, as they are familiar with the terrain at the terrorists’ Sambisa hideout. He said: “We are renewing our call on the military authorities to allow us join the search for Boko Haram elements in their Sambisa forest hideout. We are ready to pursue the terrorists because we know the terrain.” He faulted claims in some quarters that the military was cautious of allowing the hunters join the fight due to suspected landmine buried by the terrorists around their hideout. Maidurma said: “We know that it is true that the Boko Haram terrorists are in the habit of burying landmines to prevent encroachment into their hideout. But we believe that we can work in collaboration with local vigilantes, called Civilian JTF, to overrun them. “Hunters from all 27 Borno local governments are all in Maiduguri with our leaders, doing nothing at present because of Boko Haram. Rather than idling away, we will want to assist the military in crushing Boko Haram terrorists.” It will be recalled that the hunters had, last January, appealed to the military to allow them join the Boko Haram fight, without response. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/03/weve-supernatural-powers-fight-boko-haram-borno-hunters/ |

The long awaited peace talk among members of former Plantation Boys, 2Face, Blackface and Faze was broken by High chief Ateka Tom in his house in Okrika, Rivers state. Influential High Chief and former Niger Delta militant leader, Ateka Tom, hosted members of defunct R&B music group, Plantation Boys – 2Baba, Blackface and Faze in a long awaited peace talk at his Okrika home in Rivers state yesterday. It can be recalled that Blackface recently accused 2Baba of stealing his music, but during the peace talk, he agreed to put a stop to the accusations, and all three agreed to put their misunderstanding behind them and move forward. In exclusive photos shared online, they were seen laughing, shaking hands and drinking together. For years, people were wondering when can they stop wearing condoms while having s*x with their partners, well it looks like the time is right around the corner. It seems the long awaited cure for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) – a lentivirus that causes HIV infection and over time acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, AIDS, has been invented by scientists. Below is how popular U.S gossip website, MediaTakeOut reported the story; For years, people were wondering WHEN CAN THEY REMOVE THEIR CONDOMS . . . well it looks like it’s right around the corner. Scientists have for the FIRST TIME EVER – proved that they can CURE HIV. Yesterday scientists CONFIRMED that they were able to edit out HIV-1 DNA from the genome of human immune cells, preventing virus replication and reinfection of the cleared cells. In layman’s language, they used GENE THERAPY to cure HIV in HUMAN cells. Dr. Kamel Khalili, director of the Comprehensive NeuroAIDS Center at Temple University claims that they are ready to put his new gene therapy into a new drug that will cure HIV in patients even after they stop taking the drugs. “The findings are important on multiple levels. They demonstrate the effectiveness of our gene editing system in eliminating HIV from the DNA of CD4 T-cells and, by introducing mutations into the viral genome, permanently inactivating its replication. Further, they show that the system can protect cells from reinfection and that the technology is safe for the cells, with no toxic effects,” Khalili said in a press release.http://www..ng/2016/03/22/breaking-news-no-condoms-scientists-finally-find-cure-hiv/

Adelani Adepegba, Abuja There are strong indications that the management of the Nigeria Immigration Service has approved the recruitment of 1,600 personnel over which the erstwhile Comptroller -General of Immigration, David Parradang, was suspended by the Federal Government. It was learnt that the candidates had been given letters of appointment and absorbed into the service by the Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Board. Parradang was suspended by the Federal Government in August 2015 for allegedly recruiting the 1,600 personnel in violation of extant laws. He was said to have issued appointment letters to 700 Assistant Inspectors of Immigration as well as admitting 900 Immigration Assistants III into the Nigeria Immigration Service without the CDFIPB approval. Parradang, in his defence, had claimed that he carried out the recruitment based on a presidential directive by former President Goodluck Jonathan. However, his explanation did not impress the government which placed him on an indefinite suspension. It was learnt that the panel that probed the recruitment exercise carried out by the former CG cleared him of any wrongdoing. It was gathered that the findings of the panel had put the Federal Government in a dilemma and the Presidency was yet to decide whether to recall or retire Parradang who had been on suspension for about seven months. Sources said the approval of the recruitment by the government had further vindicated the suspended CG and proved that he had not engaged in any illegality. When contacted on Sunday, the NIS Public Relations Officer, Ekpedeme King, said he has no information on the development. “I can’t confirm the regularisation of the recruitment by the former CG. I don’t have any information on it now,” he stated. Copyright PUNCH. All rights reserved. 56 years after independence, Nigerian leaders still can’t deliver “ordinary” electricity, water, home-refined petroleum products, transportation – road, rail, water and air – infrastructure. Yet we are like the highest producer of crude oil in Africa without nothing tangible to show for it. We are the giant of Africa by mere size. How will Donald Trump not rubbish us? Here’s a quote from Donald Trump, a front-line US presidential contender: “Look at African countries like Nigeria or Kenya for instance, those people are stealing from their own government and go to invest the money in foreign countries. From the government to the opposition, they only qualify to be used as a case study whenever bad examples are required. How do you trust even those who have run away to hide here in the United States, hiding behind education? I hear they abuse me in their blogs but I don’t care because even the internet they are using is ours and we can decide to switch it off from this side. These are people who import everything including matchsticks. In my opinion, most of these African countries [like Nigeria] ought to be recolonized again for another 100 years because they know nothing about leadership and self-governance.” http://www..ng/2016/03/13/just-imagine-donald-trump-rubbished-nigerian-leaders/
