Same question I asked, his answer was simply "that is how it is done, that skirting is not charged per square meter but per meter" So I am asking here if it is the norm so I can take correction.

Guys please I need urgent help. I just completed my floor tiles and wall tiles for the kitchen and toilets. The total tiles I bought is about 298 square meters. I paid my engineer 1800 per square meters. I had a space I carved out in the four toilets for keeping soaps, he said that tiling those spaces are separate charge and each costs 10k, making it 40k, he said that the skirting of the tiles is also a separate work, he said each meter is 400 naira and he calculated it 156meters for the skirting.

Please I stand to be corrected and if the bill is in order, I will pay it, but I argue that I was meant to be charged expressly as per the amount of tiles placed which was meant to simply be 1800 multiplied by 298.

I used shingles and I don't have any complaints so far, and by God's grace, I won't have any at all. I believe you can't go wrong with any stone coated sheet with good thickness. Also the installer matters a lot. Ensure you get an experienced installer

I always say that always try to be alive no matter what. Now this one is dead. I truly find your view on self-made interesting. Please, what of these supposed self made billionaires in tech we hear of, like the bill gates, Elon, mark and Bezos, are they not self made? Cos they didn't inherit anything but built it . If no one is self-made, then none of them achieved that success through their own efforts.
Normally, when the society says someone is self made, it means how much a person was responsible for creating his or her own wealth without family connections, inherited wealth, other priveleges like court dividing a man's money through divorce, stealing public funds to invest in legal businesses.

I just did a simple search on Bill Gates and I have attached the first result I got. Even if you did setup a successful business, you need help for it to scale. You leveraged the help of your staff who were diligent in their work to ensure that you all were successful. Also there are investors, who believed in him. Go and check all the men you called, they don't own 100% stake in their business, that simply tells you that they had help. Self-made in real sense only means self-motivated. If we all agree that no one is an island, then no one is self made. There is also a place of divine help and luck. You totally ignore all these when you say you are self-made. Enough said

The Nigerian government has four refineries, have you asked yourself why none is fully functional till date?

Go and check the house committee that investigated the fuel import in 2012 when goodluck wanted to remove subsidy and how much the Nigerian government paid for no fuel. Check how otedola bribed the chairman of that committee to look the other way.

Before you talk have a little restrain to look at both sides of the story, so that your assessment can come with a perspective of balance.

As careless as the talk is, have you asked yourself why the Nigerian government massively supported him with cheap dollars? How many Nigerian business men have such privilege?
